It's been a few years now and I cannot find a better person or barber to cut my hair. Show him your pictures and he'll make it a reality.

Jimmy is a good communicator. He will listen to what you say and be patient with what he is doing. He is my third barber in ATX and will be the final one. He is the ONLY one I recommend if you are a new "Austorian." read more

This guy is, without a doubt, the best barber you'll find in Texas. Before Jimmy, I stuck to a bald fade with a seven on top, but after seeing him work his magic, I decided to grow my hair out. He's added layers upon layers of texture. Whether it's fades, texturizing, or coloring, he does it all. Right after my cut, I went to grab a drink, and the bartender hooked me up with a free one. That's how clean this haircut is. For reference, I'm Vietnamese with straight black hair that grows sideways instead of down--finding someone who can cut it right is tough. But Jimmy? He's got the skills. read more

Jimmy and Lisa are an incredible hair care salon. My kid and I have gotten out hair done with CC for a long time. Don't miss out.

I've been getting haircuts from Jimmy for years and he never fails to impress. He is always learning new techniques and I have asked him to do a variety of different haircuts for myself and he does so with ease. You will not be disappointed ever and he has some of the best suggestions for your hair. I would highly recommend him for any type or style of hair. Jimmy is as expert as always. In a brand new, larger location. Wishing him greater success than ever in the new year

I've been going to Jimmy for years. I have very weird hair; it grows in unusual patterns, but Jimmy consistently makes it look presentable.

Had a great experience with Jimmy as my barber for the last few months. Quality work and good conversations. Whenever I'm in town I'll shoot a text to him for a haircut. read more

This is a long overdue review. Jimmy and Lisa are the best! I've been coming to them for over 4 years and haircuts have never disappointed. I've followed them from the Lamar shop to the shop inside Hana market. I recommend calling for an appointment since Jimmy's book is typically full all week. read more

The long search for the perfect hair person...ah my stress is finally relieved. I know woman love their hair but men love having awesome hair as well! I came across this place because my gf said, "You better get a haircut now or else!" She literally drove me to the location and sat there to make sure that I did it. Yikes! I'm so glad that I found Jimmy - he's the best. He cuts mens/womans and anything that has hair on it. I walked in and waited 2 hours for Jimmy. At the time I was thinking this is crazy, I'm crazy for waiting but as soon as I got into the seat I felt an immediate change as Jimmy was this super nice guy that was really down to earth. He gave me some tips and gave me two different styles because my gf didn't like the first cut. (Which was an amazing cut btw!) So he cut it again and the gf finally agreed to it. Would definitely recommend this place again. Jimmy is the man that can make your cut come true. He will tell you the truth if your hair wasn't made for a certain style, but if you insist he will try to make it happen for you. Top notch! read more

5 stars is mighty bold. Why 5 stars you ask? Simple - best value in town. I have a very difficult nest of thick, wild, manly, untamed hair. I have seen many a stylist try and fail, and therefore when I find one that can cut it and make me look good, I stick with that stylist. I have been going to Jimmy for haircuts for about 6 or 7 years now. He has always listened and offered feed back, always been meticulous, and always takes great pride in his work. I have had short hair, long hair, medium hair, all types of cuts all under Jimmy's skilled hand. I will continue visiting these guys for my haircuts for as long as I can. It's a win win for everyone, I look and feel good, and get to support local business. I should also mention my wife with an equally difficult amount of hair also gets her hair colored and cut here and is always pleased with the results. This will probably be the only 5 star review I ever put on here, but I have to give credit where credit is due. read more

I LOVE Lisa! Been going to California Cuts for about 3 years and hate to let anyone else touch my hair! Very reasonable prices for a quality job. Lisa is the best stylist I have ever been to! She highlights and cuts my hair and does a wonderful job. 4 star only because they kind of take a long time. Even if you have an appointment, you may still have to wait a little bit. But you will leave looking great. read more

First time at this hair salon! Yesterday must have been my lucky day because I called here during my break at work and they said Jimmy had an opening at 5:45pm. I snatched this fantastic opportunity! I've been trying out different hair salons here in Austin since I moved here about 3 years ago. Nobody does it like Jimmy! He really IS the best! The whole salon magical experience you might dream about, watch in movies or expensive commercials....you get it right here! I particularly LOVE the way he talked about my hair. He really did make me fall back in love with my own hair. My hair cut looks and feels amazing! Everyone keeps complementing me everywhere I go. I definitely feel so much more happier now. I even made a promise to myself to maintain this beautiful look and try styling my hair on a regular basis. Jimmy also thinned out my frizzy, unruly hair so that it is more manageable now. A LOT more manageable now! If you're looking for an amazing place for your next hair appointment I would definitely recommend Jimmy! I never write reviews but I really felt like this amazing new hairstyle certainly deserved a good review and thank you note for Jimmy. read more

Getting a few cuts from Jimmy definitely tells me now that he knows his way around some clippers and razers! A haircut with him has truly been an experience every time. I get a sense of confidence knowing he will do a great job every time. read more

Had another bad experience with this place. Brave myself to go to this salon to get my haircut during covid time, BIG MISTAKE! They made me wait one hour and did not even have the professionalism to apologize or acknowledge their mistake. Ended up leaving. Jimmy nor his wife, Lisa bothered to greet or apologize for my inconvenience. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. This was the second time they made me wait an hourWill not be returning or recommending this place to anybody. read more

Don't bother to make a call to book an appointment ahead. I called, made an appointment, arrived on time and waited 25 minutes to get a 20-minute haircut. Punctuality: negative Service consistent: bad. First time client is always well taken care of. Jimmy spent more time on your first time, does lot of fancy moves, tells you lot of tricks for styling your hair. Second time, less time, same old hair style. Third time, 20 minutes total. Last time I was there, I wanted to change my hairstyle, told him what I wanted, ended up the exact same type before. Just don't know why the customer service goes down more when you're a repeated client?! Wonder if I didn't tip well? The haircut is about $21-$22 (I don't remember exactly), but I tip $10, so it's almost 50% of the service price. Have to think before I go there again since he didn't even bother to listen to do the style I want. read more

Great salon. Clean, comfortable, friendly. Had my first cut today by Lisa. Also took my 5 year old grandson. She was so good with him, making him comfortable during the entire haircut. The style and cut she gave me was just what I needed as I am letting the color grow off. She managed to leave a minimum of the old color without having to cut so much off I was uncomfortable. The new "do" is EXCELLENT. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere---and I have been around, changing salons often as they were never quite what I was looking for. This one is a keeper. I will definitely be back! read more

I have been getting my hair cut by Jimmy for two years and as long as I live in Austin, I'll keep coming back. For the past couple years I have been experimenting with different hair styles and no matter what picture I show Jimmy, he always makes it happen. Not to mention he is a really cool guy to talk to. ProTip: Call and make an appointment! You can't walk in and see Jimmy, he has a large list of clients and many of us book appointments in advance. Some of his clients are from San Antonio and Houston, and they drive all the way to Austin to get their hair cut! There have been times when I was not able to get an appointment for a week, but it's okay because my hair grows out evenly and the style still looks good even when it gets a little long. I'm very satisfied with Jimmy as my barber and recommend him whenever I get a chance. read more

I had been floating around from barber to barber before finally finding Jimmy. He always does a great job and has good conversations, I am never bored. Jimmy does tend to be booked, so call ahead if you are hoping to get a cut from him. read more

I absolutely love California cuts!! I always see jimmy! He's the best! You can show him a picture of a hair cut and he goes WAY AND ABOVE and gives you his ideas!! I'm so happy! Also and Lisa cut my hair short for the first time like 9 years ago so now if I go short I go to them!! And I won't go to anyone else! They both know what they are doing and are amazing!! Jimmy just did my hair and I cut off 8 inches for wigs for kids to donate!! I'm so happy! read more

Went to Jimmy to get an ombré and haircut! The haircut was nice but my ombré went horribly wrong. He did try to fix it but i am still very upset about the whole situation.. I have very dark hair, and my worst fear was that it would come out tacky/brassy orange looking and my fear came true.. I spent almost $200 on something that I now have to find someone else to fix because I am not happy with the results.. Not to mention my hair is fried.. Would not recommend this place to anyone.. read more
