I think I really got lucky finding these guys because I wouldn't have reached out directly amongst all the other companies but I put the job request out there and I was really impressed with Serafin and his assessment of the tree (which I did a lot of homework about) and made recommendations to ensure the health of this Coast Live Oak tree which is not only a keystone species, but protected. They also ground two stumps, hauled away the leafy waste and mulched all the wood for me in a neat pile on my driveway. We had them produce an estimate for us and they provided an extremely competitive price for removing eight mature cypress trees (with stumps ground), shaping Canary Island Palm, pruning a very mature olive, and miscellaneous branches hanging over the house. Highly recommend Califa for an artistic and efficient tree trim! We hired Califa to trim our sizable Oak tree- they did an excellent job with tree health and aesthetics being at the top of their list! We went for the aggressive trim- for branches off some power lines, many small branches off of the larger ones and we really opened up the canopy and for light and to relieve the weight on the tree limbs. I was present for the entire job as was a supervisor which I very much appreciated! It was stressful watching the process but at no time was I worried about their approach and workmanship. I do want to mention with such an involved job- you're going to want to clear, move and/or protect the plants under and surrounding the tree that they're trimming. They had guys on the ground with long poles directing the falling branches to "safe" landing spots but there were, as I expected a few plant casualties. Nothing big just a few branches broken off of succulents that were too big to move to safety. The men that were up in the tree and on the ground directing and protecting and cleaning up did a VERY good job, and I am super picky! Most importantly, the Oak tree is so beautiful and looking really majestic with her new cut! Also want to mention how accommodating Califa was with my extra requests. I asked if they would chip some branches I earlier in the week had personally cut off a tree in my back yard- no problem! I asked if they would leave the truck load of wood chips for me to use in my yard, and there was also no problem with that!
