    Pupusa lunch platter
    Elaine F.

This is my favorite local place to sneak away to for a Salvadoran comfort food lunch. They have a pupusa platter that I adore. I usually get two pupusas, but you can also get three. The place is usually relatively quiet on weekdays at lunch. Today, I had the Pupusa platter con Casamiento (rice and beans), plus two margaritas. The service is always friendly.

    20% Guac 80% lettuce. Scam

$120 take out meal. Get home and no tortillas for the $25 fajitas. Called to ask for a modest discount because it's too far to drive back. $1 offered. They fake giving you guacamole by padding the bottom of the container with lettuce. Almost forgot to give us chips we ordered (we didn't catch the tortillas at the counter). Avoid this place.

    Ceviche Mixto

Just had the best ceviche ever! I have eaten ceviche all around Central America and the Caribbean, and Ceviche Mixto was on point. Wonderful Leche de Tigre, with just enough of a bit to keep things interesting. Seafood was fresh and prepared expertly. The guacamole was excellent. Freshly made with big chunks of avocado. Roxanne's service was wonderful.

Salsa, guacamole and chips. So good.

Always delicious. Cheese sauce with Mexican sausage. Chicken quesadillas, hot with fresh veggies and guacamole. Friendly and helpful staff.

    Pupusas Platter Pick 2

Stopped in for lunch based on good reviews and craving for pupusas. I ordered the two pupusa platter, got the rueveltas with plantains as my side. The food took awhile (like a good 25 min), but when it arrived, it was hot and absolutely delicious!! I filled up on chips and salsa so only ate one there and brought the other one home. The quality of the food was definitely worth the wait.

I went for a friends birthday and we were easily seated outside for a party of 8. You get complimentary chips and salsa and the food was amazing! I did have to wait a while for the Mangonada but once I got it it was AMAZING! It was so fresh and by far my favorite mangonada I've tried! The enchiladas were also very good and the beans. I'm not a big rice person but the rice was pretty good as well. I can't wait to go back for another mangonada!!!

Caliente grill is amazing! The food is delicious but my favorite part has to be the wait staff. They are so nice and attentive and come off as genuinely enjoying their job. The vibes and atmosphere of Caliente Grill are what make it a must have. If you go, try out their churros. They are absolutely amazing!

Food was fine - nothing special. The irritating thing was that we were charged 16.99 for a side of guacamole and chips -- really???

Full On Craft Eats. The Toast online ordering system was easy to navigate and adorned with pictures of every menu item. I could not get past the onion rings on the starter menu hoping they would taste as good as they looked. My friend offered to split the Slammin Salmon sandwich and onion rings since she has had it before and never finished the entire thing. I took her up on it and the order was placed. A quick ask for mom to grab it on the way home and the food made its way back quickly. WOW is all I can say. When you order food to go there is a level of expectation that it will not be as good as it is at the restaurant, especially fries and onion rings. But in this instance WOW. Talk about food that travels well. Fourteen minutes away and the food was still warm, the onion rings were so crisp, and the garlic and dill aioli and onion ring sauce were just right. The Slammin Salmon was served on ciabatta bread that was not too soft not too hard, with salmon cooked perfectly. The lemon dill aioli was a game changer so much that my friend's advice to order extra was well received and committed to memory. The onion rings lived up to the hype, cooked perfectly with a crust I cannot even explain. The kind you bite into without losing the entire onion from the breading. Dip it into the sauce and you have a match made in heaven. Half the sandwich was more than enough but the next day I would have loved some leftovers. Now for the extra razzle dazzle. I left to visit a friend in DC and sent him the menu, shared my experience and he was locked in to try. Online ordering was closed since they were closing at 10pm so I called as a last-ditch effort since the anticipation was already there. The nicest most warm individual answered ten minutes before closing and was more than happy to take my order. She even made sandwich recommendations. I quickly arrived at a shopping center that was easy to get in and out of. Walking in you immediately arrive at the counter and takeout area to your left with a nice bar area a short walk past on the right. The cooks and wait staff were having the best time using the 6/7 saying that was all over social media late last year. They were considerate when they noticed I was in the restaurant, but I assured them I loved their energy. I see why the food is so good because the energy shows it was made with great vibes and laughter all around. As I grabbed the bag to leave the hostess stopped me to add another fork and extra napkins since I would need them to add the pickled veggies on my sandwich. Such a nice touch. Thirty plus minutes to DC and the food still did not need to be reheated. The Mai Thai sandwich was a hit with flavors that married well and the onion rings delivered again. The Spicy Thai wings were good for wings but typical. They had a lot to compete with. Full On Craft Eats Annapolis, not to be confused with Rockville, is an experience you will want to repeat again and again. Good food fast that travels well (yes that is a thing). A great addition to any table worth gathering at. I did it twice in one day!!

It was creamy and smoky, topped with caviar and came with flatbread style sesame crackers. It was light and savory. My companion ordered the tuna sashimi special. It had melt in your mouth toro marinated in yuzu and sesame sauce. It was topped with seaweed and came with a side of kimchi aioli. It was definitely the star dish. Whitefish Dip was fine but way too much mayo than the fish. Bread & Butter was disappointing. It shouldn't be something they charge. The bread probably was from supermarket and it wasn't chive butter but green onion. OG Caesar was basically wedge salad with heavy pesto oil, overall oily and salty. Lomi Lomi Salmon... Not good. It turned out to be the highlight, sitting at the "Chef's Counter" by the pizza station on the covered porch. (We are foodies, and always appreciate an opportunity to sit at a chef's table.) It was a fun spot with a great view of the action and personal interaction with two very hard working pizza chefs. We shared the beet salad, which was a nice start, followed by the skirt steak, the fungi pizza, and grilled asparagus. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. We also enjoyed a very nice Tempranillo with dinner. Our server, Stephanie, was excellent--friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to have taking care of us. To be fair, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, and that's the only reason this isn't one star. We ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and the pepperoni pizza, and they were easily the worst pizzas I've ever had. The crust tasted like cardboard: dry, crunchy with no snap or chew, and completely flavorless. The pepperoni tasted like nothing. There was barely any sauce, and both pies were flat and bland from edge to center. I have never left a restaurant without finishing my meal, and tonight I didn't even try. The potato pancake appetizer was no better. It had a sour aftertaste that made us push it aside after a bite or two. I genuinely don't understand the hype. The staff deserve a kitchen that matches their effort, but based on this visit I can't recommend the food, and I won't be back for pizza.
