It was rather expensive for just basic coffee and pastries. $30 for a mug!!! $7 for a kolache! I just got cold brew and a danish. Still cost me OVER $10!!! Hell, McDonald's coffee would have been just as good for cheaper. The only reason I can figure they charge so much is because it's a chi chi hipster coffee bar. I didn't see anything special about it at all other than high prices for basic stuff. The service was fine, and I had no issues while there. The seating was rather limited, and the space small and cramped so got my order to go and sat outside the Peach Basket next door to enjoy the lovely weather. read more

This quaint cafe was such an incredible experience for my husband and I during my birthday trip to Fredericksburg last week. Their gravlax bagel is probably the best smoked salmon bagel I've ever had. It is extremely filling and packed generously with fresh smoked salmon. Their caper vinaigrette is a unique addition to the bagel which adds a bit of zing that I absolutely loved! And they also put generous amounts of herb cream cheese on each side of the bagel. It's actually so filling that the second time my husband and I ordered it we decided to just split one. We also ordered honey lavender lattes with oat milk which were amazing as well! Austinites are foodie snobs, it's the truth. That doesn't mean it needs to be expensive or high end, it means that even our neighborhood taco trucks in Austin are usually top notch taste. So, I was a little let down in Fredericksburg with the food scene. Until, Caliche. Caliche assuaged my minor disappointment with amazing matcha, delicious lattes, beer soup that I still think about and a tidy menu of home cooked deliciousness. I went there everyday, for 4 days in a row. It feels cozy, clean and hip and the service was always great. Adorable place down the way from Main street, I saw that there were reviews about how the workers are a little rude which I got the same vibe from them as well...but just power through because the coffee and food was very good and worth it. There was a small patio out back that allowed dogs! I got the PBLT which was mistakenly made as a BLT...I didn't want to be that person but that part was disappointing nonetheless. However, my BLT still turned out really good. Overall, definitely check this place out, but make sure that your order was place and made correctly. read more

A small group of us were in town for a bridal party weekend getaway and we stopped in on our drive back to Houston for brunch since this location had outdoor seating in the back. The reason I'm giving such a low rating was because when I went to order, the staff member behind the counter had a bit of an attitude. I went to order a breakfast burrito and she gave off an annoyed vibe when she answered, "we're out of that" and I asked if they were out of anything else before I took another look at the menu, because I didn't want to order something they were out of again, but she brushed my question off with a sharp "I don't know." She did not really make eye contact with me and I don't know if there was something up behind the scenes, if someone behind me was acting weird, or if she was just having a bad day but it was really off putting. I ended up not buying anything and just drank my Starbucks outside while my friends had avocado toast (pictured) with "pico de gallo." Sorry, but chunks of tomato with a leaf of cilantro... is not pico de gallo, my dude. Other than the service, the location is charming and there is a small outdoor patio to eat at in the back. The trash can out there was over flowing though, so I'm not sure how often they check out there. read more

I went in on 07/30/21 and had one of the best experiences I've ever had at a coffee shop. We were visiting from out of state and the two people working behind the counter were so awesome! They treated us with kindness, were excited we were from out of state, offered a couple of local places to go and talked with us the entire time. They really took care of us and went above and beyond! The coffee was great! There was a maple scone that was absolutely amazing!
