I needed a rental while my vehicle was being repaired and was also told that they speak directly to the rental company so that the rental will need concerned for the entire time need for repairs. I was greeted upon entry and within 5 minutes Oscar was coming out the back to take photos and grab into from my vehicle for an estimate. Jessica at the front desk made fresh popcorn while I waited and was super friendly and conversational. Once the paperwork was ready, I filled and signed it. I thought I had great work done, but 2 car experts later pointed out 4 areas of blatant poor workmanship, Caliber had my car for 3 weeks, charged my insurance over $9800 and what I got back was subpar. When I told Carlos, he gave me excuses. I told him I sent in photos to my insurance, he immediately agreed to fix it. At first they didn't offer to cover a rental car to fix re-repairs, until I insisted I shouldn't have to pay for a rental. I insisted my insurance send someone out to inspect the work. I got my car back - the rear "floor" of the hatchback was not put back into place at all. Only the dog cover was thrown on top. I took my dog on a drive, and when I braked she went flying into the back of the rear passenger seat. I'm thankful she wasn't hurt. Also, my expensive front/rear camera was not reconnected and working properly. I had to take time to bring it back AGAIN. More so, I said the rear hydraulic lifts weren't working. They charged me $380 to replace them. They still don't work. The excuse I got was "Well, it's a Toyota problem. All we did was replace them." It's lazy. A good repair shop looks into an issue and gives the customer honest feedback. No, Carlos just shrugged it off. I trusted them, I won't again. Have your work done here re-inspected. read more

I went in to this shop in need of some front body repair. They did a great job despite a couple of delays that pushed back the quoted finish time. After I picked up my truck I learned that rear window didn't work anymore. I was working when it went into the shop and stopped when it came out. I held them responsible for that reason and because they keep my truck for over a week. After some small push back they ultimately wanted to keep me happy and repair of the window cheap and quick. Ok took my damaged ford c-max for an estimate. They ended up totaling out the car after the insurance company said it was not worth fixing. So when i told them i would be picking the car up i was told they may not be able to give it back since it's being totaled. My reply was i never gave any permission to take the car apart it was only brought in fir an estimate. The car was completely drivable and other that the appearance it was street worthy. I will say the backup camera and rear sensors for objects were not working but the rear hatch closed and was water tight, all rear lights worked and the car drove fine. Apparently the cost of repairs was more than the value of the vehicle. I ended up totaling it out with my insurance company but was pissed that Caliber wanted to keep the vehicle perhaps they knew the rest of the car parts would be worth having. Again at no time did i say the car could be disassembled for the estimate and told him we would get it later after they had finished the estimate. I personally will never go back and if i had to do this again I'll make it clear that i will have the final say. I was sent to Caliber Collision at this location by my insurance company. Anna the front desk receptionist is extremely professional and provides very good customer service. Unfortunately, that is the only positive experience I have had with this particular shop. I arrived for a walk-in estimate and was assisted by Alexander. Throughout the brief walk around Alexander asked numerous times if I had a salvaged title to which I responded no, I am the original owner. I mentioned a leak to him since my accident, which he dismissed stating he saw no leak from the walk around. He mentioned a rear passenger door that looked "off alignment" which concerned me because I was pinned between two much larger vehicles in the accident. After the estimate, my insurance company made a preliminary payment to CC and I asked the adjuster about the leak, and misalignment. My concern was for the frame because I transport my family in the vehicle and didn't feel the estimate was extremely thorough. The insurance company assured me that supplement claims can be added for approval upon a deeper inspection and advised me to notify Alexander of my concerns when I made the appointment for repair. I did speak to Alexander to mention those two concerns. He mentioned undercarriage damage that may be unrelated, but will be determined upon further inspection to which I agreed. When I voiced concern regarding the misalignment and possible damage to the frame Alexander told me to take my vehicle to a different repair shop and/or the dealer because he would not be able to satisfy my concern for the frame as he feels it is unrelated. I rationalized my concern related to the type of accident and concern for my families safety with the vehicle moving forward. Alexander was extremely rude and expressed no regard toward my concern. He was patronizing and dismissive, stated this is his line of work, checking the frame wouldn't be justifiable in his opinion, and advised to take my vehicle elsewhere for repair despite receiving initial payment from the insurance company. He also mentioned that vehicles often become damaged by dealerships and receive repair prior to purchase and that he assumed that is where the misalignment came from. Alexander made no attempt to address this concern and continued to interrupt me to tell me to take my vehicle elsewhere. I am the sole owner of what was once a brand new vehicle, there wasn't any previous misalignment in the doors, I was upfront and honest about previous repairs and I take extremely good care of my vehicle. Alexander would benefit from customer service training and experience. He is extremely rude, and does not listen well to the customers concerns. I have had good experiences with other Caliber Collision's. If you are in the market for repair I would seek a different location. I do appreciate Anna for the wonderful customer service, Alexander definitely has much room for improvement with communication and customer service. I would highly recommend a different Calliber Collision location and/or someone other than Alexander to work with. read more

Update: that please email us response they put on reviews is bogus. Nobody actually responds. Also the lights (both headlight and taillight) on the drivers side of my car went out simultaneously. My mechanic says it looks like the wiring was damaged during repairs. Because of this I dropped down to 1 star. I'm giving 2 stars because the manager tried to make it right but I can't in good conscience recommend this location to anyone. Maybe I just had bad luck but I had 4 issues during one car repair. Issue #1- the automated text message told me my car was ready when it wasn't. Luckily I called on the way and didn't get all the way there. Had this been the only issue it wouldn't be a big deal. Issue #2- my repair was delayed because they mixed up my part with another vehicle's and painted it the wrong color. Issue #3- once my repairs were done they LOST the key to my vehicle which delayed me getting my vehicle back while they ordered a new one and then had it programmed. Issue #4- once I finally got my vehicle back I noticed they didn't secure a piece on my back bumper. I had to take it back in. Luckily that only took a minute but the receptionist on that day was the rudest human I've ever encountered and is the reason I'm writing this review. I was upset at having to be back there and having to wait over 45 minutes for the manager but remained kind. The receptionist proceeded to say unkind things about me being upset and impatient to another customer within earshot. Her behavior is what compelled me to write this review. read more

STAY AWAY ! This location is very bad! The person Alfredo, and general manager Carlos are the worst! First of all, Alfredo was rude, and when I threatened to complain to the regional manager, Carlos came running out as I was about to leave. He said he would fix bumper at his cost. I agreed but every time I take it to him, he says there is some scratch! He fixed top part of front bumper, but didn't fix bottom part! Then , I waited for part on bottom but he ordered wrong part! When part finally came in, I took it back and looked at fronbumper with no scratch, he claims he's the one that drove it back, I did look before I took key in! One star is too generous. I would have given zero. Horrible, Horrible! Went here because it was a GEICO repair center. The tail lights that was replaced looked like a first grader glued it together. It took them two weeks to get another replacement for a third gen Tacoma. Can you believe that! They completely forgot a bolt attaching my bumper cap. When I pointed it out, the replied was that the person working on it left for the day and they have no idea where it went and they have to order an ordinary 10mm bolt. The 4x4 decal was charge to my insurance but was not put on my truck. Was told it wasn't their fault and that GEICO sent the parts. I called GEICO and they said that was wrong and the repair shop orders the parts. Instead of taking responsibility for poor quality control they did the blame game. After two weeks and many many calls later I was finally able to bring it back for a ten minute install job. The emblem decal was crooked and does not look like the other side at all. Hey all. A few weeks back I was hit in a parking lot on my rear bumper. Thankfully as a consolation, the actual person was there to exchange info and did not run away. I was a bit angered because this is the 3rd time such an occurrence happened to my car!! I went to caliber through my insurance hoping to get repairs beyond my deductible of $500 because well, I want a new bumper. All was solved by a "courtesy buffer (orbital buffer + compound)", imagine that. The guy from caliber and I looked at the scratches a bit more and to his knowledge it wasn't that deep. I thought it looked deep. Everything was solved after that. I'm not sure how often they would do a courtesy buff but I guess you can ask for it? In the end my bumper looks new, except for some very small details left from the hit (can only see it if you were face to face). I'm satisfied. Hope this information helps with those who got into a SUPER minor scuff. I mean MINOR. Anything beyond, might have to go into your savings account of $500, or what ever deductible you have LOL. Both my service advisor Thomas, and the "tall" woman handling the paper work (who had only been there three weeks) exuded a profound level of competence. They both instilled in me a sense that my car would be like new when they were done. And do everything in their power to get my car back to me in time for my vacation. And to speechless surprise Thomas called a week early to tell me that I could pick up my car tonight!!! By definition, a reversal of fortune is when something changes to the opposite of what it was. That's what happened to me in Sacramento this summer of '21. I experienced a car-related reversal of fortune - not once but twice. I went from bad luck to good luck - and back again, all within a few days. Like most crime stories, this one involved bad guys and good guys. The bad guys are the thugs who stole my 2000 Honda Accord LX in Midtown, in August. The good guys include law-enforcement officers - and Joseph Ricca, a service advisor for Caliber Collision on Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento. He went beyond the norm to repair my damaged Honda after it was miraculously recovered. I could have sent a tiny "thank you" note to Mr. Ricca. Instead, I penned this account detailing my tortuous nightmare and Mr. Ricca's role in resolving it, on two separate occasions. The goal here: to publicly thank him. My ordeal began on 4 August 2021, when my car vanished from street parking where I had left it the previous night. I had bought the car brand new at a Honda dealership in 1999; it had given me reliable service for two decades. My first call was to the Sacramento Police Department (SPD). "If your car was stolen, you must file a report," a police dispatcher told me the day of the theft. "The report cannot be completed online. It must be taken by one of our officers." Hours later, an officer phoned me to do just that. Police kept an eye out for my "hot car" from the moment the report was entered into SPD's system. I also contacted Geico, my insurer. Believing I would never see my car again, I reached out for hope over the phone. I posed a question to Ms. Alysia Welch, a San Diego-based Geico claims adjustor: "If 100 cars are stolen in California, how many are eventually recovered?" "About 80," responded Ms.Welch, who was unfailingly polite during our interactions. She emphasized that many recovered vehicles are no longer drivable. Two days later, on Friday, 6 August, I received two phone calls 10 minutes apart - the first from the California Highway Patrol, the second from SPD. At mid-afternoon, an officer from each agency told me my car had been found abandoned in a South Sacramento apartment complex. It had been taken by HB Towing to its nearby yard, off Florin Road, the officers said. I thanked them. An hour later a UBER driver delivered me to HB Towing, 15 miles from my home. Upon arrival at 4 p.m., I paid a $280 towing fee, which included $60 for unspecified "special services." An HB manager led me to my car, which refused to start. I later learned its lights had been left on by the thugs until the battery died. With HB about to close for the weekend, the firm towed my Honda to street parking outside its premises, where I could dial Geico and request a new tow by a Geico partner, the sooner the better, to a location closer to my home. HB did not charge me for the one-block mini-tow. After HB staff drove past me on its way home, I examined my newly-moved Honda. Its interior was filthy. Oil stains covered the seats, along with the thugs' greasy hand prints. Cigarette butts and empty soda cans littered the carpet. And a suspicious white powder peppered the dashboard. Cocaine? Meth? Who knows? My efforts to get a new tow late that day failed. An auto shop on 18th Street was my desired destination. Though the shop's website indicated otherwise, an employee told me the shop was no longer a Geico partner. In other words, it would be better for another garage to receive my car. As a result, on Monday, 9 August, Capitol City Towing transferred my car to Caliber Collision, which turned out to be the best choice. Arrangements for that tow were made by Geico, which also directly paid the fee. I soon spoke by phone to Joseph Ricca, Caliber's exemplary service advisor. He said my car needed a new battery to replace the old one, which was ruined - that's why the car wouldn't start! Also needed, he said, were new battery cables along with other minor parts. According to him, the motor was solid - the criminals had not messed with it. My car would also get a thorough, full-service interior steam cleaning, Mr. Ricca revealed. All he needed, he said, was Geico's approval. Ms. Rosy, a local Geico representative, okayed his suggested repairs, which totaled more than $1,000. My cost: a $100 deductible. "I'm not in a rush to get my car back," I assured Mr. Ricca. "Take your time. Meanwhile, I'll use public transportation." Geico had offered me a rental car, an offer I rejected. Both times upon check-in I have had a rental waiting for me or on its way and I have had helpful service providers thoroughly explain to me the damage estimate and repair processes. Whenever there were any updates or changes they would keep me informed every step of the way. Their front desk staff are also very helpful when going over paperwork for me to sign and helping me return my rental car. When I get my car back, I always find it better than when I brought it in, obviously due to repairs but also because they washed it and cleaned the interior. What I really like the most about Caliber Collision is their warranty on their repairs, if I ever have an issue I feel at ease knowing they will make it right if I am ever dissatisfied. read more

I visited this auto repair business several weeks ago and asked for an estimate to repair the scratches and dings on my back bumper. A young man had me fill out a detailed form and then took several minutes to look at the bumper in question. He went into the back office and reappeared in about 10 minutes. The estimate was $2500. When I asked about how the bumper would be repair he said it was "So damaged" that they would need to replace the bumper. I questioned him about the repair and asked him to have another person check out his estimate. He consulted someone in the back office for a minute and returned to say that $2500 was firm and because the car was not new that the clips might break while removing the bumper which could put the estimate at $3000. I thanked him for his time. I went home and called my service repair man at SVS and asked if he could recommend someone to repair my car bumper. He recommended Martinez Brothers on Arden Blvd. I went over and talked to Randy. In about a minute, he told me it could be fixed for $500 and it would take 2 days. He said they could take the bumper off and fix all the dings. When I returned 2 days later the bumper was repaired and looked new. Moral of the story: Ask friends for a reference and watch out for people who think your money grows on trees. read more

WORST place to take your car for repair. I handled the case for my mother. BELIEVE ME when I say it, they did more damage to my mom's car than it should, even spots that were not even touched by the accident. We dropped my mom's car off at the shop Dec 14th, 2022. Her car only has 7,000 miles on it. It was still a pretty brand new car; still have that fresh car smell. Damage: the car was rear-ended. The repair literally took them 3.5 months and yet it was still halfa$$. We were delivered the car 6x promising that it was complete and ready for pick up. 1st visit: Trunk struggle to close, trunk alignment was off, body panels were asymmetrical, large thumb sized gapping, missing over a dozen clips that holds the parts onto the car. 2nd Visit (same day promising pick up): Trunk was adjusted but nothing else above was resolve. All the complaints above on 1st visit was neglected. 3rd visit: This was one of the worst pickup and poorly delivered. The interior of the car was dusty like it hadn't been touched in a month. We found sandpapers (trash) tucked inside the spare tire compartment. The spare tools were clearly taken out and were clearly not put back in its place. We found that there were still missing clips. The car parts were falling off. Even the headliners were dirty with oily black fingerprints everywhere. We also found a deep 3-inch scratch around the inside the window frame. This damage should not have been there and definitely was not caused by the accident but clearly by the carelessness and neglect of the shop.  Inspection should have happened before even contacting us for pick up. 5th Visit: My husband, brother, and I we all met at the shop ready to inspect the vehicle and pick it up. We were hoping this was going to be the last visit. When we arrived, the manager Carlos had already left after already coordinating with him since the morning that we will come by and we request his present. We all arrived before 5:30pm. The shop don't close until 5:30pm. We checked out the car and still was slightly unhappy because the trunk was still off on alignment, and we found a scratch on the front bumper that was never there before, but we decided to let that slide. More damages.... 3/31/2023 This was our 6th visit to the shop: This was another very upsetting and disappointing visit. When we got there, the vehicle was in the front ready for us as i had coordinated with the GM Carlos of us coming by. I went in and Zoe the lady at the front desk asked us to sign the paper without asking us if we wanted to do a final inspection of the car. After a minute of reviewing the documents before signing, the manager (Carlos) finally came out of the office. He handed us the keys and stepped outside with us. He didn't do a walk-through with us. He kept just bragging (as like he did the courtesy of doing something good for us) about how he had professional detailer come out and clean the car and that the shop paid all for it. This was actually my request on the 4th visit. He didn't do it out of free will. But really?! They are the one who dirty the headliners in the first place; Black oiley fingerprints and marks were everywhere on the headliners. We did our own walk-through, and my husband noticed the edge of the front passenger door got a burn through and the manager did not even respond or say anything when we mentioned it to him. What upsets me the most was how unprofessional he was as a General Manager. We were about to get into the car (i had not even started the car yet), which was around 5:15pm *Note: the shop does not close until 5:30pm. The GM was so quick to get rid of us that he closed the door and locked it. I didn't think too much of it until I was trying to put on my seat belt and no it was stuck and locked. I cannot drive off without a seat belt!. *First SAFETY FAIL check by Caliber. My husband went to the door and as he tried to open the door, guess what it was LOCK!!! HE HAD TO KNOCK three to five times for someone to open. The lady at the front desk, SURPRISINLY, did not hear him, whereas I can. CLEARLY, THEY WERE IGNORING US! Finally, the manager came out. Can I stress it again that it is not even closing time yet and to lock out your customer is definitely the worst thing any shop can do, especially after so many disappointments. He came out looking so clueless as we were showing him that the seat belt isn't pulling. My husband had to check it again and was able to unlock it. After we drove off and on our way home, I noticed the blind spot sensor on the right side mirror wasn't working. *Second SAFETY FEATURE FAIL check by Caliber.
