Caliber Management- you need to level up your customer service at this location- perhaps an offsite training would help. I had two experiences with this Caliber location in a short span, and both were disappointing. In December, my vehicle was returned with wiring not reconnected, requiring an additional trip to fix what should have been done correctly the first time. The work felt careless. I only returned because the location is close and I assumed the repair would be straightforward. After stopping by again last Wednesday and following up by phone, I was rudely asked by Laura the raspy older lady @ the front, "Are you going to be using us or not?" I explained that the car had already been looked at and that I planned to drop it off after parts were identified and ordered, since I would need a rental. I was told this was "not how business is normally done with Progressive," which directly contradicted both my prior experience at this same location and what I was told previously. While on the phone with a Progressive agent, I switched to another repair facility. They had no issue following the exact process I described--assess damage, order parts, then schedule drop-off--further confirming the inconsistency I experienced here. To make matters worse, I called on Friday and sent an email requesting follow-up and received no response. I got rear ended on may 10 right before my birthday and my move across states which I didn't need to happen. The insurance that dealt with my car provided caliber collision on 20th st as a shop to use. I chose it because they did my moms car as well. Well anyways I brought the car in may 16. They kept me updated on the progress and the time it will take. If waiting for a part took to long they'd let me know. They fixed my car perfectly like nothing ever happened. My car was finished may 29 it would've been sooner if the part places didn't take long or holidays were involved. Plus they have warranty on the repairs incase something was off. Thanks to Caliber I have a new car. Well kind of. It's a good thing. Someone totaled me and they noticed they smashed in the quarter panel. Only slightly but enough that they'd have to replace it which out valued the cost of the car itself. They got the car fixed in a short time, knowing it would be trashed anyway (or bought out), and communicated well with a seemingly horrible insurance company. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this location due to the overpriced services. The customer service was very nice. It was very easy to make an appointment. Once I arrived the employees were friendly. When an estimate of parts and labor was given to me the employee was inaccurate with the information provided to me. What was normally a $120-$200 dollar replacement job was estimated $700. This did not feel right so I decided to get a second and third estimates from other repair shops. The part cost $30 dollars that was needed and she estimated that it would be $200. I was asked several times if I would be utilizing my car insurance to pay for my service. Even if the insurance was paying for the service, I would not feel comfortable with being charged 4x what the normal cost would be. When selecting a body shop please be sure the get a second and third opinion so that you will not be mislead to believing the cost of service should be very high. read more

I don't know what it is about Sacramento, but I get hit by another car every 6months to a year. My most recent occurrence, was a couple months ago whereby I was driving on the freeway. There was a bit of traffic, I slowed down and stopped because the car in front of me stopped. Once stopped, I got hit from behind. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I had to find an auto body shop. The last body shop I used did not do a great job, so I found Caliber Collision through my insurance company. Eileen was my point of contact at Caliber and did a wonderful job communicating with me throughout the whole process. She warned me about potential delays for parts. It was great working with someone who set realistic expectations, communicated with me on a regular basis, and did a great job providing excellent customer service. My car was returned to me as good as new. It was clean and didn't look like anything had happened. With my luck as a driver in Sac, I will be back again. I took my car here for repairs after an accident and they took it in immediately however my only issue was communication was not well and my pickup date kept getting pushed back which is frustrating when you have a little one and in general need your car for errands like grocery shopping returns etc. I also have been monitoring my car because now oddly as someone opens my passenger door it makes a really cringe squeaking sound and may need some additional work hopefully not however I will call them tomorrow with an update. read more

For those who live in the Sacramento pinball machine we call our roadways, collisions are all too familiar. For accidents in the area it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. I've been hit three times (none of which were my fault) in the past year, two of which I wasn't even in the car, I was parked at my apartment in midtown. Last summer I even had the pleasant experience of a road rager smash my passenger side mirror. All of which, this calliber collision was there for. I've already asked Caliber if they have a loyalty punch card, because their faces are becoming all too familiar. Originally I chose this shop simply for its location but this crew stands by their work. Michael is a peach, and he will make sure everything goes smoothly with your repair. In April my car was squished between two parked cars wrecking the front and back of my car after another car slammed into the parked car behind me, then shortly after that, I ended up hitting the recycle bins in my brothers garage ‍ Each time, Caliber has got my car looking good as new! Had my vehicle service after and accident. Got the vehicle back and vehicle would make a clunking sound from the area they were to have supposedly fixed with new parts. Brought it to my dealership mechanic and he determined it was from the front hub which they were supposed to have fixed. Went back to Caliber, they said they would order the part and replace it. She even held the shop open a little past closing to accommodate my work schedule when I had to pick up. 4/5 stars because the pickup date for my car was changed multiple times, causing my car to be in shop 6 weeks and $440 paid out of pocket for my rental car (insurance only had 30-day coverage). The biggest holdup was shipment of my car parts, so I wonder if it would have been better practice to let me keep my car until those parts came in (one person told me over the phone "the car has just been sitting on the lot" like okay, great lol). Also, even after the parts came in, my pickup date was changed multiple times due to labor time, time at the calibration center etc. I would've appreciated the strategy of overestimating completion time rather than underestimating, because I had to make multiple phone calls at work to see if my car was ready to pick up that day as listed online/to the rental company, etc. Now I have extra tasks to complete with the party at faults insurance to try and get a $440 reimbursement. Ultimately the staff and the manager are super nice and consistently provide good service; car looks great; I would just recommend tweaks to minimize amt of days the customer is w/o a car and also for setting expectations. read more
