I was in a crash that was not my fault (other car tried to make a u-turn in front of me from middle left-turn lane, I was in the left left-turn lane), but that's beside the point in this issue. My car was taken to Caliber Collision on Indiana. Everything went smoothly, I got my car back, and all evidence of the crash was gone, my car could drive once again, they did a great job on that (I would hope so). Months later, I decided to fill up my windshield washer fluid (when I got my car back it was empty; the crash had busted it and I lost the fluid, I didn't care about that and made no deal about it). Up until that point I had obviously not tested out my fluid spray controls. So after I got it filled up, I tried it, and found that the front and back controls for the spray were switched, but NOT the controls for the wipers themselves, i.e. when I activated the control for the front wiper/spray, the front wipers started going, but the spray for my BACK window came out. And same vice versa: when activating control for the back wiper/spray, the back wiper worked, but the FRONT spray came out. Before the accident I used my spray quite often, and it was NOT like this, I would've noticed something like this right away, because it's REALLY annoying and apparent. I even looked at where they had worked on in my car, and it was right by where this wiring is. So while it wasn't actually caused by the accident (how could an impact cause two wires to perfectly switch), it was obviously caused by them during their work on the car. So I took my car back (months later, but what the hell, guys) and told them my issue. They were all friendly and whatnot, and a worker came out with me to look at it. I showed him in detail, and he said, "Sir, it looks like it's working fine to me." I was incredulous, and tried explaining it to him like you would to a baby, but he was insistent that there was nothing wrong. It was so weird that I started second-guessing myself and had to examine it again just to make sure I wasn't crazy (I wasn't). He finally told me I needed to go to my dealer to get the wiring looked at and get a report on it so I could send it back to CC and prove that it wasn't working how it was supposed to, and as stupid as this all was, I did so just to appease him. But I didn't end up doing it because there was a charge for it, and I wasn't about to pay money for this. So I went back to CC and explained my entire story and what I was told to do and what I had (hadn't) done and why, and someone else came out with me to look at it, and THIS guy was actually like, "Yea, that shouldn't be doing that," and then the guy who had helped me initially walked by and said, "I told the sir that everything looked like it was working fine," but he was ignored and he walked away. Then we went back inside, and the guy who was helping me now went to the back to figure something out, then came back and said "Sorry, we won't be able to fix this for you because it wasn't caused by the accident, you'll have to take it to the dealer." At this point I had no more energy to worry about the issue anymore, so my car will not be fixed, but I had to say something about the incompetency of this location. read more
