I just received my Lexus SC 430 back from Caliber Collision for a repair/paint to my front bumper (03/17/2025) . The problem I have...they repaired the damage, but they painted over all of the rock chips to the other part of the bumper. Why wouldn't they tell me. "Hey, we are painting the whole bumper but you have 50 dings/dimples in the bumper but we can't repair those. I would have paid the extra cost to repair. Now, I have a freshly painted bumper with all kind of defects and the new paint, which accentuates all of the defects. VERY DISSAPPOINTED. If you are getting your car repaired there...Please ask the question??? What will the finished product look like??? And, to my dismay they scratched the front fender while it was in their possession. Avoid if possible. Took my vehicle here after hitting a deer. Not significant damage. While reviewing the needed repairs the mechanic kept saying "whatever day they tell you, it's gonna take way longer". Continuously received txt updates saying it was supposed to be done 9 days after dropping it off. on the 9th day they call and say it's gonna be another 6 days. The work done on the car was wonderful. However, when I went to pick it up yesterday, I smelled pot in my air vents when I turned the car on. I dismissed it, thinking it was in my head, that I didn't really smell anything. This morning, I found a bowl under the seat. The mechanics were smoking pot in my car and left their bowl there. What if I had gotten pulled over?? The cops would search the car because of the smell from the air vents and would've found the bowl! I could have been arrested! I don't care if you smoke pot, but to do it in a customers vehicle and then leave paraphernalia behind is beyond unprofessional. The shop is closed today, but I did leave a message. Just a warning if you take your car there, search the vehicle and if you think you smell pot, you probably right. read more

The people that work here make an unfortunate incident a breeze to work through. I woke up one morning to find a note attached to my windshield to inform me that I was the victim of a hit and run. The damage was minimal, but after calling it into my insurance company, they directed me to come here. Within minutes of me hanging up my phone with the insurance company my phone was ringing to indicate that Mikes was calling to set up an appointment to get my car in for an estimate. I set up an appointment that was convenient for me and went about my day. When I arrived here to have my car viewed it was quite the easy task. My wait was minimal, the staff were polite and I wasn't being jerked around. Within five minutes of them looking at my car, I was out the door and heading back to my place. Unfortunately, they did not do any work to my vehicle at this point because the police are still looking into the person that hit my car. But if we get to that step, I am confident that they could not do anything wrong in my eyes. If their body work for a vehicle is anything like their customer service, they are definitely one of the best places to go in the city. I took my car here after a pretty nasty fender bender I was involved in. I initially came here because they were approved and recommended by my insurance carrier, GEICO. All I can say is how over the top impressed I was with the entire operation. First off the area I was greeted in was VERY clean and welcoming. I was treated promptly and respectfully by the staff. Given a realistic quote, including some extra work I wanted to have done while the car was being worked on. I know some people on here have complained about the work taking extra time, but mine was done a little sooner than anticipated. It was the morning of instead of end of the day quoted, but I'll take it. The car looked amazing too. The work was absolutely top notch. The kicker for me though was I did not have rental policy on my insurance, so Mike's provided me with a loaner car for the duration of the repairs. What AMAZING customer service. I cannot recommend Mike's Auto Body enough! My husband had his car repaired here earlier this year and told me there was no other place to go after his experience there. I got hit at the grocery store parking lot and I was shaken up and irritated. The woman who hit me insisted on paying out of pocket so I went to Mike's to get an estimate the same day and they were able to squeeze me in. I was able to get the estimate to the woman who hit me, she sent me a check, and I got an appointment for the next week at Mike's, and I was in and out in ONE DAY. They timed everything perfectly with ordering the parts and prepping everything before I even got there. I worked with Ben and he was friendly, accommodating, and provided high quality service. My door was perfectly repaired and when I got in my car it was clean and shiny and felt years younger! My job requires me to bring a lot of mud on my boots so my car was pretty dirty, but after the treatment at Mike's it was spotless! I am beyond impressed with my experience! read more

But DO NOT GET ME WRONG they do quality work, fair price, and Paul and both of the receptionists I spoke with, are as friendly as can be. I took my car to Mike's auto body as it's recommended by Geico and is part of their easy claims and repair process. This was a big mistake. Like many of the reviewers here, I was initially told it would take a certain amount of time, and then, at the last minute, on the day I was supposed to get my car back, they told me it would be a few more days. Their excuse? The headlamp that came in didn't have a bulb with it. Seriously? Since this was the Geico rep telling me this I couldn't really argue, but I don't know why Geico keeps working with a business that repeatedly does this to its customers. Absolutely TERRIBLE experience at this place. Took my car here on Geico's recommendation for an easy bumper and fender fix. Took them two weeks to do it (after they somehow damaged the replacement bumper when installing it and had to reorder and reinstall) and when I went to pick up my car the work they did on it was UNACCEPTABLE. Fender wasn't properly lined up, the paint job was absolutely horrible and didn't match the rest of the vehicle at all, the bumper was loose and didn't fit properly. I'm ending up having to take it again to get fixed, this time at a collision center of my choice. Even the repairmen there said Mike's did a horrible job. Do yourself two favors: NEVER go to a Geico recommended facility because they suck. Secondly, STAY AWAY FROM MIKE'S!!!! read more

I needed a quick turnaround and they were very accommodating. I got an estimate appointment right away and they were able to fit me in for the repair work to meet my timeline. I had to choose from a list of insurance-approved body shops to get my car repaired after an accident. Mike's Auto Body was nearby and more highly rated than other convenient options. They did not disappoint. The turnaround time was quick (less than 3 days) and they did a great job! My car looks as though the accident never happened and I am quite pleased with the work. They had to fix a large dent and some scraped paint. The neighborhood the shop is located in is not great (some interesting "characters" soliciting in the intersection nearby), but the shop itself is clean and comfortable. I did not feel unsafe going to and from the shop in daylight. The customer service was excellent, as well. Everyone I interacted with was professional and courteous. I was continually updated with progress on my repairs and they were actually finished a day earlier than expected. I hope I don't need to go back to Mike's for repairs, but I would definitely choose them again in the event of an accident! read more

We were in an accident and our insurance recommended we go to Mike's. We dropped off the car a few days before Christmas, understanding that the holiday would mean there would be a delay. We didn't get the car back from them for about a month after that (the damage was not *that* extensive. It was basically a fender bender). Communication was horrible; we had to call them, they wouldn't call us. After three weeks, we called and they promised it would be done on a certain day. We called the day before to confirm that the car was ready and were told that they forgot to order a part and it would be two more days. Called two days later to confirm it was ready. "No, it's not ready yet. We'll call you when it is." Days passed and no call. Finally called them again and they said "Yeah, your car was ready yesterday." Are we supposed to be psychic? We picked up the car and before even getting it home, the "check engine" light came on. We took it back to Mike's and they said they just needed to reset the computer. They did so and the light went off. Left and halfway home, "check engine" light came back on. We took it to another mechanic and found out that Mike's missed quite a few things, resulting in several hundred dollars in additional repairs. Now we have to submit all kinds of paperwork to the insurance company to add a supplement to the original insurance claim. Not fun! read more

Finding someone to do quality collision repair fast and correct is always a stressful situation. I visited 3 Pittsburgh body shops with Mike's being the highest of quality. Because of their popularity most of their work is repairs via insurance companies. Their new building is fantastic and their staff is nice and professional. They are also a Geico auto repair X-press shop and have Enterprise car rental representatives on site to make a rental car easy and hassle free. On their website they do provide updated pictures and status as to your repair. I did find this not updated as fast as my car was done before it stated online. No big deal though. One thing I wanted to mention is that out of the 3 repair places that I got estimates, Mike's Auto Body was the only place that decided it would be cost effective to replace the fender sheet metal instead of trying to pound out, bondo and sand the old damaged fender. I was thankful for the decision they made. They also cleaned my car inside and out, put in paper floor mats, gave complimentary glass cleaner and a little goody bag for when I picked up my car. It is a shame they don't do full body paint because I know they would do a great job if they did. I highly recommend them to anybody. Their location is not in such a bad area at all. I am not too far from the Pittsburgh Zoo and it was only minutes away. I would go back to them again for any car finish needs. read more

Horrible experience. I was rear ended at a stop sign, wasn't my fault. Mikes did the repairs, poorly. Trunk lines off, bumper lines off, wires for taillights hanging, rear header panel was pushed in from the accident. Taillights pushed out after accident. Mikes didn't repair any of these issues. Even after I had told them during the estimate. Also found chips dumped out on the passenger side floor. They are truly an express shop. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

If you are looking for a body shop in Pittsburgh or a basic mechanic and you don't want to deal with the corporate-environment and less-than-caring nature of a dealer I HIGHLY recommend the crew at Mike's. I had to go somewhere for an insurance claim adjustment, and I chose mike's simply because it was in the city. I was blown away by the people there, and their customer service. They are in a neighborhood that used to be considered a piece of East Liberty and is now renamed "Highland Park Extension". I would still say it is 'Sliberty, but boy are they changing the neighborhood. This neighborhood was so bad that it isn't even bad any more because everyone left. Mike himslef has made a huge investment in that part of town as have PItt and Penn State. Mike's is a clean, new and well-cared-for facility. They are friendly and knowledgable and you feel like you'ev been a part of the family since before you were born. Mike's son (also named Mike) runs the place now and father has clearly passed on patience, kindness and customer care to his son. They helped me out with a rental car, walked me through the whole the process, seemed to know everyone by name- stand-up guys. They also fixed my car so well that it actually looks better than when I first bought it, and I'm not employing the use of hyperbole here. It looks that good. Also... the coffee in the machine is free for customers, and while it doesn't look like much, it makes a MEAN cup of joe. Woke me right up and tasted great! Use Mikes. Do it. There is no reason to go anywhere else in the city. If Mike's does the work you need, take your business there. Cannot say enough good about them. read more

First off, I want to sum up my experience at Mikes Auto Body as being a complete nightmare. I definitely have had the worst experience I have ever had in any service related field. I think Mikes biggest problem, which Is echoed by other reviews, is the sheer volume of cars. Their attention to detail is very poor, borderline, haphazard. Resulting, in little to no concern about each individual customer. You are basically a number there. I had a medium sized scratch on the drivers side back quarter panel. It took them not once, not twice, but three times to repair it. The first time the paint was not smoothed out, and uneven. After I got my car back the second time, the paint was completely the wrong color. This was plainly obvious. I don't understand how you could not get the paint color right, when the paint code is right on the door. It shows me they cut corners to the extreme. It was only after the third time I dropped my car off for repairs they got it right. It was only after the third time did they even feel remotely concerned about my satisfaction, that they offered me a rental car. It was not until THE THIRD TIME that I brought my car there, that they were able to fix it. My car was in the shop for about 3 weeks, all for a minor paint repair and no damage to the body. This is completely unacceptable and I question the competence of their employees. Lastly, much like the other reviews, there were obvious tape marks, leaving my paint appear flat and dull that are still there on the drivers side door and the back bumper, which I will have to spend money out of my own pocket to fix. Needless to say Mikes really botched a pretty easy repair and I am not going back. I also caution anybody with GIECO insurance from going there, save your self the headache and go elsewhere once you get your estimate. read more

Excellent customer service. Took my car here on a recommendation from Geico after my car was involved in an accident. While they did end up keeping my car longer than they originally had quoted (one week ended up turning into over two), it didn't bother me too much because Geico covered my car rental. I took my car in a couple months later to follow up on some things that I thought had not been addressed in the original repair. While they said those items were unrelated to the original accident (which is possible, my fiance drives my car more than I do so I may have just been unaware), they took care of them anyways (fixing two of my headlights and my driver side rearview mirror). And yes, they do give you a little gift bag after major repairs. Over all, they are courteous and have good communication skills. It's also nice that it was literally a one stop shop where I got my car rental (through Enterprise), Geico estimate, and repairs done. read more

While no one can truly enjoy having to deal with their car being totaled, everyone at Mike's made it pleasant to be honest. I have geico, so was dealing with Frank their Geico rep. I dropped the car off on a Monday morning, received the total loss info on Wednesday, had a check in hand the following Monday. Aside from Frank/Geico, the front desk staff were lovely, and made waiting around the shop fun. The Enterprise reps were like any others, nothing to rave about there. So despite interfacing with technically 3 companies in this experience, it all came together to a "pleasant" total loss interaction.
