Unlike the BMW dealership that looks for additional things regardless when she brings it. The inspection and emissions was quick and painless, as it should be for a car with only 5k miles! During this time, I hit a curb and tore the sidewall on my wife's tire. So I decided to obtain a quote. To my surprise, they were close to the quote I received from my wholesale club. So I gave them the work. When I went to pay, my bill was actually $50 lower than the original quote and cheaper than BJs! Not only that, they gave me a ruboff for the lottery as a thank you for servicing our truck there! I like working with a local service center that I can trust. I have to say, this shop did an excellent job on this classic, they did what the owner asked for, which was not a concours perfect restoration, but a nice going out and showing the car off restoration. They got all the little details right, which many tend to miss, especially shops where the brand is not their speciality. Once arriving, I explained I've had some really shitty car repair service in the past (getting charged for work never completed, etc) and asked if I could actually see the patch on the snow tire bf mounting my regular tires. Again, without any hesitation he said, "absolutely." Then (I realize this was a very lucky timing issue), while waiting for my car he popped in and explained he just ordered pizza for his guys and asked if I'd like a slice (?!?). That was pretty thoughtful... And yes, I accepted. Sadly, much to my dismay, not only couldn't the tire be repaired due to where the nail was lodged, it was discovered that my other rear tire had 3 nails in it! I had to trash both tires; However, he provided a complimentary car wash (which was amazing since my Volvo no longer looked black but yellow from all the pollen!) and honestly made such a great impression on me, I know that I will be back! He explained they do pretty much everything the dealerships do. So unless it's a specific issue only Volvo can do, he'll be having my business... I genuinely liked him. I drove in without an appointment in late August after having been rear-ended in my SUV. Coincidentally, my husband was away for a week and I had no one else to help me decide one repair shop over another and I did not want to make my husband concerned because he was on a much-deserved trip! So I was trying to navigate this on my own. Barb met me with a smile and was extremely sympathetic and understanding of my plight. She called Steve to come out and look at my car and he immediately said it should not be driven and I wasn't safe in it, so they took over as my ADVOCATES and fought all the battles on my behalf. Wow, am I ever glad I went there instead of somewhere else! They explained, briefly and completely, all my options and MOST IMPORTANTLY, all my legal rights! They are experts at how the insurance systems work and they know what they can and cannot do legally. I was completely taken care of! They got me a rental car which was delivered right to the shop and I was able to drive home from there without any problems and didn't pay a PENNY to the rental agency because they knew how to deal with the insurance company of the person who hit me. They stayed in touch with me and we worked out all the issues as time went on, even though they ended up having to keep my old car, which was declared to be totaled, on their lot for over 2 months until the insurance stuff was all figured out.
