A bus scraped by new car while I was at a stop sign. The damage is not too bad but again, this is a new car. I work two jobs at the age of 55 so time is limited. I noticed that this business offered the ability to upload pictures, sent to their estimator for an offical estimate of repair. Once the estimate is done, one can expect multiple e-mails requesting a repair scheduling with their business. This seems too good to be true, right? Yes indeed. I sent this estimate to the school district's insurance company and they readily sent me a check. I've never had an insurance company actually send me a check. Not that I've had many accidents in my life (2 now) but I've only known insurances to deal with the collision center directly when it comes to payments. Regardless, this is what I was left with so I figured we would make it work since this company APPEARS to be on top of their game. I decide to schedule my car drop off. The online scheduling allowed for Mon - Fri between 8am and 430pm. Sweet, I can drop this off between jobs on a Friday. Hmm..maybe not. Estimates are just that..estimates. They determine the damage done, any replacement parts and time it would take to repair/paint. This estimate was indeed just that. Such and such for the mirror casing. Such and such for paint. Such and such for the allotted time they deemed it would take to repair. Naturally, we all realize that estimates are not precise and there are times when it will vary some. (I was ready to pay more if needed, out of pocket.) A women called me while I was on my way to job #2. I missed it so I called back before clocking in. I guess they needed some information first. Well, it was not information they needed. They gave me every excuse in the book NOT to schedule. At the time I did not understand why they were dissuading me from keeping my appointment. Guaranteed money is just that: ka-ching. Or is it? "We do not work with that insurance company." Um..I am willing to pay beyond the $2k given to me by the company. After all an estimate should be give or take, within reason. I guess not. "The make of your car (Nissan 2024 Sentra) has a rear camera, which means we may have to --blah blah excuse-- which would mean more time, perhaps adding $500 or more." Thinking to myself: You knew my car's year and make when doing the estimate. Wouldn't have that been added onto the higher end of the estimate? "Nissan is particular about the parts going onto their cars- blah blah" Nissan is not paying for this and their eyes do not need to approve of your work. I do. "Do you have another car? Because usually insurance companies provide one, but since you have paid out..blah blah." No. It is okay because my wife has her new car that we bought at the same time as mine. "Well. You schedule the drop off for next Friday at 430pm. We do not allow for over the weekend drop offs." Let me get this straight. Your online schedular sets the dates and time available for appointments/drop off. Friday at 430 was available, so now what? By this time I was "over" this collision business. I later thought about this and others can draw their own conclusion. In my opinion, they would rather deal directly with an insurance company so they can nickel and dime them to get the most amount of money possible from insurance. (It is no wonder insurance rates are so high. This is surely one minor factor in the equation.) A cash payer is not "bang for their buck" in my opinion. My advice to this business on Kingston Pike in Knoxville: 1) Fix your calendar if you cannot accomodate appointments on that date. 2) When you perform an estimate, add in those "make/model" issues a part of the high-end estimate. Isn't that what a low-ball and high-ball estimate is all about? 3) Do not assume that a potential client is not willing to pay beyond insurance to get their car back to looking good. Good customer service is inviting all forms of payer's to your business to demonstrate how well you perform (not moneygate)." Good reputations are NOT EARNED by turning down good business and ultimately reviews. Shame on you. May the truly best business for my business await. so I took my brand new F450 to Caliber Collision for a front end damage and they ended up moving it to three different shops. The one lost his job because the main guy that called me. He said we just don't do jobs that big it should've been totaled. It shouldn't been totaled at all because it just had bumper fender. You know it was just a lot and it put a dent in the firewall and they said well we're gonna do a cab change. I'm like I'll sign any paper. I don't want you taking the cab off the truck because I comes with that. A lot of oh no no no we do this every day that was their guy that they fired but then they had it for almost 6 months and we picked it up. they called us when he was picking up pulling into the driveway and said oh you can't pick it up because as we was cut in the tire and I'm like well. I've waited long enough. I'm gonna take it so I went ahead and took it because I knew the cut I could put a new tire on it said they would pay me for that which they have not and we made it about 6 miles up the road before I heard a boom and then we was on the side of the my buddy came and we was able to put it back together the turbo housing come apart then all Collision like 26 different things that popped up and took it back a total of four times they cannot get it fixed then finally after you know, there was no point it back to him because they could not fix the truck took it to Ford had it for two months also and couldn't figure out what Caliber Collision did and I guess im just out in contact with an attorney right now file a lawsuit because the broke down on us three times. I didn't feel safe driving across town in the without it breaking down and jon agreed with everything that I said and they come back and offer me a $2500 basically you know for all the problems and everything that they that I've had which is a drop in the bucket you know compared to they got over 75,000.00 to fix it the problems and then it's still not right it still got 26 things on the thing that I can show pictures of wants to see but dash would say you know yes Caliber is great, but I had a good experience with them and then this last has been nothing but a nightmare I wouldn't I mean I would not let them touch one of are trucks if they would have stepped up and you know compensated me for the loss that I had to take because they couldn't fix the truck they couldn't get all the lights to go off the dash they was bolts we found that wasn't even tightened up underneath of it that we've got pictures of so they will receive a letter from my attorney and they're being a lawsuit and then all the pictures of all the loose bolts and stuff where it back together correctly and then beyond that it wasn't even drivable because 26 different codes going off because of the technology this truck only had 1800 miles on it and I hate to put a bad review on a company, but I don't want anybody to ever have to go through what we did if there's anybody else that's had problems, I would be curious to know I could go on and on we showed up there with them, not knowing we was going to. They had in the center of the with all the completely filled the inside of my truck and then had paint spray all over it that they had to polish it. 1 Star Review Caliber Collision had my car for an entire month for a minor fender bender, and what I got back was far worse than what I dropped off. The **brake light was on** and the brakes themselves were completely non-functional. Not only did they fail to return my car in the condition I gave it to them, but they also returned it in a condition that was dangerous to drive. They claimed the brake line broke and implied it was my fault because the car is "a little older." That's not just insulting -- it's inaccurate. My vehicle has been properly maintained and has never leaked oil. If that brake line failed while in their care, especially while they were driving it, they bear responsibility. The general manager refused to stand by the company's own core value of returning vehicles in safe, roadworthy condition. This shows a serious lack of accountability and professionalism. Their refusal to take responsibility for the damage that occurred while my car was in their possession is unacceptable and negligent. I will be pursuing legal action because no customer should have to fight this hard for basic safety and dignity. Let this be a warning to others: Caliber may fix dents, but they clearly don't fix their mistakes or own up to them. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a collision repair center. I rarely leave reviews unless they're warranted so I'll share my experience. And no, Caliber, I don't need you to reply with your standard apology and how you can make it right speech bla bla bla. I'm never bringing my truck back there EVER. I will start that I am a great driver and can't remember the last time I was involved in an accident but it was many many years ago. Most recent thing I had happen for a different truck (thieves broke into and tried to steal it back in 2020) I took it to a Caliber Collision, in a state I won't mention, and they were phenomenal. I was thrilled with the work and customer service and that's why when this happened and my insurance referred me to them I chose the place closest to me here on Kingston Pike. What a mistake. I'm a Marine veteran, God-fearing, man of my word who works for a major Utility company here in Knoxville and I take pride in my work and things I possess. I maintain my own vehicles, motorcycle, and boats. I know them through and through. I already feel put out for writing this so I'll start with the basics. Was in a small fender-bender where a lady in front of me slammed on her brakes and only way I could avoid not getting T-boned in next lane over was to veer to the right where I clipped her bumper and in the process, damaged mine. It was enough to dent my bumper but hardly any damage to her vehicle. I opted to go through insurance to repair my bumper instead of a check (huge mistake in hindsight). I hit a curb after the impact and a few days later noticed a coolant leak coming from under the driver side seat area. When I took my truck into Caliber on Dec. 9th, Dave came out to inspect it and I explained everything that happened, what I was concerned with, and sent him pictures of where I found the leak. I was concerned that due to holidays, this repair might exceed my rental agreement and wanted to make sure they could get it fixed in time. He gave me the "don't worry about it we'll take care of it" speech and that he'd be in touch with updates on repairs. Mind you this is a bumper, leak, and possible alignment we are talking about. Almost a month goes by and he calls me to say it's done and ready to go. I go in after work and there's a noticeable 3-4" gap on passenger side and you can see the damaged and bent bracket behind the new bumper and it's obvious that it's still pushed in on the passenger side. I look underneath and there's a pool where the coolant was leaking and the new fog light they replaced is pointing straight up. All they did was slap a new bumper on. They didn't replace the other faded fog light (mind you, a set on Amazon is $35) they just replaced the one and couldn't even install it correctly. I popped the hood and showed Dave where I had marked my coolant reservoir and it was noticeably lower than where I had marked it. I waited a month for this? He then apologized and told me it was his fault that he never inspected the repairs! He gave me the excuse he was trying to train someone bla bla and he would make it right and to leave my truck there and they would fix it. (All of these pictures is how I got it back.) A few days go by and I get the call it's ready again and that they couldn't find the leak. That they tweaked the bumper to look better and it looked good. At a total of 33 days, I proceed to pick it up. Upon arrival I see that there's still a gap, the fog light is still pointing straight up, and the bumper is still pushed in on 1 side with a noticeable leak underneath my truck. They didn't even get an alignment on it. I was pissed. I'm still pissed. And on top of it had to pay a $500 deductible for this gross negligence. I should've just taken a check and done everything myself. A couple days later my insurance calls me and I expressed my anger. Soon after, I get a call from Dwayne, the general manager of Caliber telling me he's sorry and to bring my truck back so they can fix it. Can't make it up. Horrible read more

I was very tempted to give Caliber 0 stars when I first went to pick up my vehicle, and they would have deserved it - it was obvious even to a non-professional like me that it wasn't fixed correctly. The hood didn't fit right, and the car just looked "off". I couldn't believe they were trying to give me the car back that way. I was however extremely impressed by what followed. Caliber took a another look at the car, and this time went above and beyond to ensure the car was fixed correctly. They dealt with my horrible car insurance (Allstate) and made sure Allstate covered the necessary repairs (which Allstate refused to cover for a week and a half). The car now looks great, but more importantly I was super impressed with the folks who work at Caliber - you don't find many people these days who are willing to go the extra mile, and I definitely found that at Caliber.
