I just received back my 2005 Audi convertible from Diva Auto Spa a couple hours ago. I wasted my money unfortunately. He originally texted $1000 for outside with ceramic coat, clay bar, headlights, all the works and an interior detail. When I was hesitant, he said that he could do it for $700 cash with a good review and still give me a warranty.
When I dropped it off, it sounded like the interior would not be much of a change since he did not do minor paint touch ups or any improvements. He could do basically conditioning and cleaning. Fine. However, for the outside, he promised a lot. He said that he would polish up all the chrome and the outside coating would be like new car, showing me the older model car in his lot that was free of debris/all shiny/lush looking/all that sheen. I took him to the front of the vehicle and pointed out paint dullness, problems in all the chrome, and problems in marks and debris in the paint, as well as went around the car discussing other issues. He was very positive, saying all that would be hit. There was absolutely no discussion of a lower expectation for the outside. He never discussed ANY areas on the outside where he would not be able to fix the problem.
Well, I have taken great car of my car, and I said bluntly that this looks like I could have done this. The front was dull as before, the sides and back were just as shiny as I had it before (well, looks like it had simply been waxed and cleaned from my car that still had some rain weather on it). There was still the debris in the paint and marks that could have been waxed out/address before whatever coating he did. The chrome from around the windows to in the front grill area were hazy, spotted with something, and filmed up.
Now he tells me that I have an old car with over 100,000 miles and that he cannot help that. I told him that if he had just told me that before, I would not have done this. He asked if I had researched ceramic coating in a manner of shutting off my observations. I have now. Before coating, the process involves rigorous washing, decontamination (with clay bar and iron fall out), and sometime paint correction to achieve a smooth, clean surface for coating to adhere to. The better prep the better the final result. The more I read, the more I was sure that this was bad... and you are supposed to have it free of water for 24 hours. It was covered in dew and condensation when I picked it up. I am sure he will say that it was not outside for a good 24 hours, but given the circumstances, goodness. So, it ended with him saying that I would not listen, ok. So, never one to be unfair, so I said go ahead, I am listening. He said that he was done. I told him that I could not give a good review, and there was no offer to fix the situation. I will give him one star because the inside exceeded what I thought he could do. But everything else has been pretty bad. Lastly, he said that it takes 2 weeks for it to be finalized. I will update my review if it turns out magically fixed. read more
