Within a few hours of stopping in for an estimate I had a thorough estimate of the work to be done in my email box. Upon dropping my car off, Cesar was friendly and very patient explaining the reason behind each of the line items and why there might be ways to get it done cheaper but how that would impact the technology (sensors/cameras) underlying the damaged areas. And why their approach mattered. Follow-up ... after fully understanding the estimate I left my car in their hands and while they quoted three - five days, they said they would do their best to get it done within two to three days. They have a platform that provided me with status updates ... but I have to say that I was most appreciative of the personal attention from Cesar ... the representative who gave me the estimate and was managing the service ... every time I called to nudge him on a completion as soon as possible (as I was trying to save on rental car expense) he could not have been more kind and patient making my very small job feel like it was valued. Outcome ... the repair - perfection. Timing, record breaking. Results = Brand new! And this was important because my car was fairly new and that first cut is always the deepest. Thank you to Cesar and the team ... I hope not to be back, but if I need a body shop, they are my go to!

The 5 star reviews don't lie! After reading others' reviews, I decided to give South Bay Auto…read moreCollision a try and I couldn't be happier. I had an issue with the undercarriage of my Tesla M3. The bottom framing was starting to fall apart and I could hear it dragging on the road as I drove. I called last Wednesday morning to see if I could stop by for a quote as I was nearby. The front desk said yes. I drove up and Chris saw me and took a look at my car and knew immediately what part needed to be replaced. He showed me a print out of the part that he would be ordering as well as the price for the parts and labor. The breakdown of the pricing for both parts and labor were clear and I also felt that pricing was fair so I decided to proceed without a second opinion. (To be fair, this work is fairly simple.) Chris explained that he would be ordering the parts and then when it arrived, he would call me to schedule a time that I could bring the car back for the repair. He estimated the parts would arrive in 2-3 business days. (I did pay for the parts upfront.) Chris called me the following day to tell me that apparently Tesla has increased the price of the part I needed and he further explained that if he ordered it for me, Tesla was going to charge a $200 shipping fee. He recommended that I buy the part myself from Tesla service center and pick it up to avoid the $200 shipping fee. He explained exactly the part that I needed ("front aero shield") and how much it would cost from Tesla. I did a quick search online about ordering parts from Tesla and how to find the correct part. It didn't take much longer than 15 minutes before I had the part ordered. Tesla sent me a confirmation a few minutes later that I could go and pick it up. Picking up the part at Tesla was easy too. Then I called Chris back once I had picked up the part and he told me that I could go in the following day (Friday) at 9am (also convenient time for me) so he could repair it for me. He told me it would take about an hour. I show up on Friday on time, and Chris is ready. They got it done in about 30 minutes and charged me for 30 minutes of labor. They refunded me the difference for the extra I paid (since I had prepaid the part) and I already see it credited to my card. Overall, they were very easy to work with and communication was perfect. I had a fairly simple problem and they solved it for me within a matter of 3 days. I also very much appreciate Chris saving me $200 shipping fees. These are some honest people that I would love to do business with again when it's needed... nobody wants car troubles of course, but I am glad these guys are around if I need their help.

The repair itself is flawless, panel gaps, paint match, everything lines up like it came off the line that way. On a G-Wagon that's not a given; plenty of shops will happily take a swing at one and hand you back something that's almost right. This isn't that. But the part that really made the difference was the insurance side. Dealing with the at-fault carrier is normally a part-time job you didn't apply for, endless calls, lowball estimates, supplements that go nowhere. Alex handled all of it. He knew exactly what to push back on and how to document it, and I basically just got updates instead of headaches. Zero fighting on my end. He also does diminished value reports, which I didn't even know was a thing I should be asking about. A car like this loses real money on paper just from having an accident on the record, and he walked me through recovering that. If you've been hit and nobody's mentioned diminished value to you, ask him about it. Bonus: the man knows the local food scene better than most people who write about it for a living. Ask him where to eat while you're waiting, I got better recommendations there than from any app. Highly recommend. Ask for Alex.
