Impressive interior and exterior of the building. Got a pedicure and it didn't disappoint. They set a timer so they don't go over a certain time period, but the longevity of the leg massage was enough to bring me back again! read more

Walked in for an eyebrow and upper lip wax! Had excellent service and staff was super friendly! Definitely would go back

I had a very unfortunate experience here this past weekend. We had made 2 appointments for spa pedicures, arrived on time and were promptly sat in the pedicure chair. My friend and I remained sitting, with no interaction with the staff for 60 MINUTES! No apologies, offer of water, or timetable for service. When I called a technician over to let them know we'd been waiting and that the spa bath was cold, I was told to "take my feet out of the water" as he walked away. We redrew the water which was cold again by the time they got to us. Finally we had our toes done, which was fine. After the service I went to the front desk to complain and was ignored by the lady at the front desk who only looked at me when I told her she was obviously ignoring me. While the spa is physically nice, the staff is rude, and a regular spa pedicure won't make up for the thoroughly not enjoyable experience. read more

Oh Cali Spa! So today was my first visit to Cali Spa. I've read many mixed reviews of this place. I loved it. Here's how it happened. I called and spoke to Allysa at 12:15p and gave her a list of services we needed. Here's the list: one manicure, two pedicures, one 60min therapeutic massage with aromatherapy, one wax. She placed me on hold for less than a minute and set a 3p appt. at 2:40, my boyfriend and I arrived. I sat for my pedicure (by Kiet) and the bf went for massage (by Lynn). I loved my pedi. It didn't tickle and he wasn't rough. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. Then I went for a manicure (by Peter). Peter is my new bff! He nicked my pinky when removing cuticle, but he apologized and fixed it for me. I didn't even realize it happened. He suggested Paraffin hand mask and it was nice. After manicure, I met with Holly for waxing. I explained to her previous nightmare of waxing, and she was so sweet. Every time she had to pull off wax, she warned me and took deep breathes with me. Super awesome! Someone left a review saying she was nasty to staff and customers. She was probably having a bad day that day. But she was wonderfully sweet to me. Just wonderful. This was my bf's first pedicure and he says never again. Bc he just doesn't agree that men should get pedicures. He's weird and I think he secretly liked it bc he keeps looking at his feet. LOL I gave Cali Spa five stars because everyone was so friendly. The bill wasn't too much bc of discounts, but I enjoyed it. Thanks Cali Spa! Will return soon. read more

This place has been my go to for mani/pedis for years and yesterday on Valentine's Day was my worst and last time. I won't mention the employee who I always liked until now. She was so not interested in working, she looked very ill and smelled bad as well. She kept looking around and looking around while doing my pedi and then made some mistakes along with skipped the lotion and warm towels!!! It has gone down hill and now there are a few more new places up North so the fact that the competition is taking there business is no wonder! read more

I wrote a previous less-than-favorable review after a manicure and pedicure I received on July 17th. My concerns are very similar to most others expressed due to very poor quality and lack of customer service. (I was in town for a wedding from Chicago, spent a lot of money for the service, generously tipped an unfriendly technician, and the manicure chipped excessively the following day.) However, I was pleasantly surprised when I received a brief reply and a request from the owners to call them. I responded to the request after the wedding and was told that the owners were out of town. I was asked to leave my name and phone number and was told that they would call me back upon their return. Guess what....I have never received a phone call! Just another confirmation and example of the lack of understanding of the importance of customer service! There really is no excuse. Would never recommend Cali Spa under any circumstance! Sincerely, Jan F. read more

I walked in to set my wife and her friend up with a full treatment. Massage/Mani/Pedi. I had no idea what they would want as this was a surprise, so I walked into the spa myself to set all this up. I had cash in hand, I was ready to put 500 dollars down so they could get whatever they wanted. They informed me since I didn't know exactly what they wanted, I should only schedule the massage so that they could choose the rest of the items for the mani/pedi. Sounds about right. Well, when it came to the money part, I said, well I gotta put some money down, correct? They told me no, they said I could come back in and pay for it all after: I said SEVERAL times that doesn't seem right. They assured me that this is how it was done. I finally gave up and said okay. My wife and friend get there, they have the massage, and then the staff has no idea about anything else. The staff actually said to my wife "wow, what a nice surprise from your husband to make you pay for all this." They made her pay for it all right there. Cali Spa... because you don't know how to sell your packages, and you don't have any communication between your staff, you tried to make me look like an idiot. The manager said they could do nothing for me. The manager berated me about who told me I didn't have to put any money down, asking for height, weight, race... I told her that was not my concern. They then told me that they were not going to right this wrong at all. I know they don't care that we never come back, I'm aware of that. This just sucks because it was supposed to be something really special for my wife, and CaliSpa ruined it. Thanks for trying to make me the bad guy too. read more

I have never been more disappointed in customer service. We waited for over 35 minutes. When asked how much longer, we were told 5 minutes. 15 minutes later still no service. No contact from employees. I understand you take customers based on how they come in, but don't state 5 minute wait when obviously that's not the case. Also, don't talk down to customers when they ask how long. read more

Honestly, if the manis and pedis weren't the longest lasting and best quality I've ever had, I would rate them a little lower on the service side of things. It seems more often than not, the staff is kind of yelling back and forth and adds a bit of intensity to the experience when all I want to do is relax! On one occasion, the nail tech next to me had a phone that was ringing incessantly, and he kept answering it WHILE working on his guest's nails. She had the patience of a saint and seemed unbothered by the interruptions, but I sure was annoyed. It is one of the busiest salons in the area, and I get that, so if your ok with a little chaotic, you won't find a better mani-pedi. read more

Great salon with reasonable priced services. Sometimes I've had to wait to get in, other times I've walked right up to the technician.

I was suprised they have upped their game. Pedicure and nails were great. The person who did my daughters pedi was very pushy as to what package she sould choice. She got what she wanted in the end. Very friendly even with language differences. read more

I had an excellent experience at Cali spa today. I had booked an appointment for my birthday for a variety of services and showed up a half hour early; the staff was able to get me in right away and accommodate my requests. I had a very specific look in mind for my fingernails and the young man did a fantastic job getting exactly what I wanted. From start to finish they were friendly, professional, courteous, and did a great job. A little pricey, but worth it. read more

I bite my nails. Went to Cali for help. I like the look of pink and white. After the placement of the nails was started I was told my nails were to short and offered an ombré instead. My nails now are thick. My husband doesn't like them. I left not real happy with the result. I wish I would have been educated of a better choice until my nails grew out. What I didn't like is the employee Jimmy's behavior. He wasn't friendly and was talking in his language to his coworker who kept looking at my fingers. read more

I stopped going to Cali a long time ago because of the terrible quality and inflated prices. However, I got a gift card and went to use it expecting the price to be what I found online but it was not. I was totally ripped off and the guy did an awful job, smearing the color on my hand and not cleaning it up. read more

***READ THIS BEFORE GOING!!!*** I did a walk-in to get a full-set of acrylic nails done, there wasn't much of a wait BUT as I was picking the color the woman behind the front desk said that if I break a bottle it will be a $10 fee... Seriously? I'm not a child (23 years old), I won't drop your bottle of $6 polish. Strike one! Then when I was seated the man doing my nails kept telling me I should do shellac. I told him no thank you and that I wanted a full-set, he sighed and rolled his eyes... Really dude? He said my hands were too sweaty... Seriously?! I washed them to be polite but he was really rude about it and mention my sweaty hands 3 times! Strike 2! Then he cut my cuticle with the grinding tool, it didn't hurt but it drew blood. He said he needed a "break" while I pressed paper towel to my bleeding cuticle! I had it right about there, when I told him there was no need to be rude he mentioned to the girl behind the counter to come over and SHE ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH ME!!! My nails were finished by then and I was seething, I should have gotten up and left as soon as the sweaty hands comments spilled from his rude mouth. When it came time to paint my nails (a dark red color) he painted 2 of them and realized there was barely any polish in the bottle, so I went to pick a new color (a pink/nude) and he remarked that I didn't have to pick such a different color and it would have been easier if I got another deep red so he could just paint over the old color. Jerk! The total price was $40 for plain full-set with polish, their listed priced is $31 for a full-set when I asked him why he was charging me more money he said my nails were too long. They're not that long! When I put two $20 bills down he said, "what, no tip?" I was enraged at this point. I pointed out why he wasn't getting a tip and he went to the woman behind the counter and she handed my money back and said, "we'll cover your nails"... Like she was doing me a favor! I have been getting my nails done professionally for 9 years and 1.) NEVER BEEN TREATED THIS HORRIBLY 2.) CHARGED THIS MUCH FOR PLAIN ACRYLIC and 3.) NEVER BEEN THIS INSULTED! This place may look pretty but they are rude beyond belief, the saying is right Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover. read more

Absolutely love this Spa~ Kenny is the absolute best with Pink/White nails! I had lived in the Fort Wayne area and moved into the SW part of Fort Wayne about 18 months ago. I tried about every nail salon in the area and have returned to Cali Spa as they are clean and have a wonderful atmosphere, and they can't be beat as far as talent. So, I'm willing to drive the extra miles for an outstanding shellac pedi with Jane and a perfect Pink/White set of nails with Kenny. read more

I've been following Kenny and Holly (Owners) for 12 years now. I have specific tech.'s do my services: Holly is amazing at waxing, Fishing John is the only person I like doing my nails, and Dan is perfection at pedicures!! I get acrylic Shellac for all! I live in Indianapolis and travel to Fort Wayne every 4 weeks JUST because no other salon in Indy compares to Cali Spa's quality! Keep up the great work!! read more

I went there for a bachelorette party a couple weeks ago. The spa looks BEAUTIFUL on the inside and out, but I would not recommend. The entire staff was pushy and rushed me to each station. This is not a good way to relax. The main hostess was rude and unfriendly. My nails turned out okay. I had grooves in a couple fingers (that I noticed later). The pedicure felt great. That's the only positive thing I would say about my experience. read more

To start off with, My family and I have been going to Cali spa for about 2 years and after the treatment I received today and the last 4 visits we have been to there, we will NOT be returning to Cali spa ever again. My mom, daughter (3 years old) and I went to have pedicures done. The lady I had was not friendly and I asked for the treatment with the extra long massage and I barely received a massage at all. I felt like I paid extra money for a service I did not receive. I also brought my daughter with me to get her fingernails and toenails painted to make her feel special and enjoy our girls day out. Towards the end of my pedicure, the massage therapist approached my chair and bent down in my face and proceeded to say "I am trying to give a massage in the room behind the wall and I keep hearing a child out here and I believe it is your child and I need you to keep her quiet". I looked at her and just stared in utter shock that she was talking to me like a child and the fact that my daughter was sitting on my lap the entire time looking at pictures on my phone telling me what she wanted. She NEVER left my lap and the other 50 or so costumers, especially the group of women beside us, said they were not in any way bothered by my daughter and they too were appalled that the woman spoke to me that way and these people were sitting right next to us. The massage therapist continued to wave her hand in my face and tell me what a disturbance my daughter was and I did not say anything but all the other customers beside us told me to make sure I reported the incidence to the manager. I did report it quietly to the manager in a separate room away from the customers (like an adult would) and all the manager said was "your daughter was with you the whole time"? She was not apologetic and I am sure nothing will happen regarding the rudeness and complete disrespect I was shown. The entire pedicure/manicure area is not a spa experience, it is an assembly line that is full of many customers talking and laughing loudly. It is not my fault they do not have the correct sound proof rooms to do their massages in and I should not have been treated that way and I was so upset that I took my daughter to another nail "spa" to receive the respect and care that everyone deserves. I paid $180 plus a tip to have a mediocre pedicure and an absolute horrible experience over all. In a world full of hate, people need to learn to be kind and I hope by not expressing what was really on my mind to the massage therapist, that I showed my daughter what respect and kindness really looks like. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. read more

Worst spa experience starting with booking the appt. I scheduled a haircut and hair color appt with a master stylist as part of a birthday present for my 22 year old daughter. Her appt was cancelled when she walked in (Umm?) because the receptionist wrote my number down wrong and couldn't call us. They got her in with someone else (not the master stylist I had for her birthday). My daughter was here for for FIVE hours to get her hair highlighted and the chair she waited in for her hair to process was beyond uncomfortable. My daughter had to get up several times times because her back hurt (she is 22!). Total cost was 210 without tip - I can't imagine what it would have been if she had the master stylist I had scheduled. I reluctantly kept a couples spa package for the following Sunday as an addition to her birthday present (she was visiting from out of town) and happen to check on my appt and the receptionist HAD MY NUMBER WRONG AGAIN. The Couples Spa Package clearly states online one hour facial/one hour massage (120 minutes). we got in the room at 210 and were out by 340. when I questioned the "manager" she said 10 minutes on the front end and 10 on the back end were for changing so "there is that." After doing the math, we clearly lost 10 minutes and she clearly didn't care. The massage was pretty much a full body rub down with lotion. Not sure why we had to write our problem areas when clearly no problem areas were worked on OR even asked about. The esthetician would not crack a smile, didn't ask A SINGLE question about our skin, and just rubbed products on. 10 minutes of the "facial" also consisted of a shoulder/arm rub down.... You could clearly tell she didn't want to be there and the total time for the facial was about 35 minutes. I would not waste my money here. I have never been treated so rudely or had an experience like this and I'm very fond of spas and salons coming from Dallas. The receptionist takes the cake for the rudest salon receptionist I have encountered and I'm almost 50.... I don't know why any receptionist is allowed to eat fast food and text on her phone while guests are at the front waiting on her. Not very happy I spent $675 on all of this only to walk away feeling so disappointed. My pedicure ended 10 minutes before my daughter (not sure why because we started at the SAME TIME) and the guy would not stop asking me to pay before my daughter was done. I told him three times that I wanted to wait before my daughter chimed in to let him know we wouldn't pay until we were both done. The Tropical Citrus pedicure was also a rip off. No clay mask after we asked multiple times what the difference between the Tropical Citrus and Tropical Paradise was because that was the only distinguishable difference. This is my first Yelp review and will be my last review for this salon. CRAZY! read more

Customer service is lacking. The name says Cali Spa, but it definitely doesn't give you a spa experience. The techs are more concerned with rushing you through and getting you to upgrade to the most expensive pedicures than giving personal attention and service. I will take my money elsewhere next time. Disappointing! read more

These people are unbelievable!!! My SIL and I booked a massage for girl time over a week ago. When we checked in they didn't have is on the books. They scrambled and we had to share a room... No big issue sharing. We are fine with that. It's just unbelievable how loud it is. Never relaxing and they had really dark classical music playing really loud. Not relaxing at all. read more

First time here with my daughter and it was wonderful! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back!

Very nice facility and cute themed pedicures. However, customer service was not on par with the high prices charged. I pointed out that I had a specific area on my foot that needed extra scrubbing as I had a hard spot. Response I got was, "I already did that area" instead of scrubbing a bit more as I requested. When I made the appt I specifically mentioned that I wanted different designs on each finger and willing to pay whatever cost. Manicurist did ok on 6 fingers but then rushed me out on the last 4 as his regular client had arrived. Will not go back.... read more

READ THE REVIEWS (especially on Google) about this place and spend your money elsewhere! SOME of the staff are friendly and do a good job, but others, not so much. The owner, Holly, is the rudest human being I have ever encountered! I used to go to her husband, Kenny, 25 years ago when he was in the salon Southeast and he is extremely personable. She on the other hand, is known for retaliating against customers and has been verbally abusive to her staff and her CUSTOMERS in public! I have gone here for many years and spent thousands of dollars on services and gift cards, mostly out of convenience and also because I like the two technicians I went to (John and Quang), but have had one too many encounters with her and the rude little girls that work her front desk. A few of my friends have also stopped going after years of using their services -- one of which left in tears one day because her tech, Michelle, made her feel so horrible. Who does that??!! Much better places in town that offer you a PLEASANT experience. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT DESERVE IT. read more

First and only time at this spa, customer service was lacking. We had a party of ten and we arrived a few minutes after the first of our party but still before our time. We were absolutely not made to feel welcome, no smiles, just ushered to the pedicure station with no questions about what we were there for. We had called with a list of what each of us requested so they were warned not all of us would be getting pedicures. I wasn't. The guy then put me at a manicure station where I waited ten minutes with no further contact with anyone. Finally they came, moved me to yet another station where I then waited another five minutes. No one offered me a water or smiled. Finally a guy sat down, did not say hello or introduce himself which made me think he couldn't speak English. I showed him the color I wanted and requested a shellac manicure. It was my first time getting this type so I didn't know quite what to expect. I would have loved to ask questions but didn't feel comfortable. He didn't talk to me except to indicate I should put my hand under the ultra violet light until he overheard me mention where I lived and asked me about salmon fishing in Lake Michigan. I noticed his thumbs had long nails on them which he used to scrap my fingers where he painted into my skin, gross, and I felt it was unsanitary. When he was done he waited obviously for a tip, no smile, no conversation. I pulled out my money and handed him one. He then took me up to the cashier to pay. I talked to my family who all had similar experiences, my niece's nails bubbled up and she asked to have three nails redone. They did it but then rudely said she should have had shellac instead. Luckily I don't live in the area so I don't have to go back but I certainly wouldn't ever go back. My nails look nice but that's the only thing I can say that's positive. read more

Cali Spa is amazing. But Van, one of the people who does pedis/manis, is horrible. He puts lotion on and then sprays it off, does not rub it in. He does not use a timer to time the massage like he's supposed to. And worse of all?! He washes the dead skin from the foot file off in your foot bath when your feet are still in the water!!! Disgusting. Worst pedicurist of all time! read more

Very Disappointed. Had shellacs removed and asked for a French manicure on my nails. I was told it was expensive and the Tech painted nails with an iridescent color. Also asked to have eyebrows and upper lip waxed. Eyebrows look nice however my upper lip was not touched. By this time I just wanted to pay and get out. This was not my first visit to Cali Spa. Each time I go I feel as if they are looking at me to make money and herd me thru like cattle... Cali Nails is AWESOME. read more

I went in today to get a manicure, with the added orange scrub, and shellac on my nails. The manicurist Mai did my nails. I was not impressed as she was doing my nails and when I left and got out in the sunlight I could see there was polish all over my cuticles, uneven application of polish at the base of my nails, and some sparkles embedded in 2 of my nails (my polish had no sparkles in them). I called and told them what happened after I got home and all they said was "sorry that happened". Do they care about repeat business? I would not recommend Cali Spa to anyone. I spent $40 on a horrible job. read more

I was taking my mom for her first ever pedicure as a late Birthday/Mother's Day gift. Let me start by saying that the 2 stars is for my experience; but I would give 5 stars for my mom's experience and technician. I chose Cali Spa because I admit I had seen the Beautiful establishment months earlier and thought surely any business that would spend so much to build such a beautiful building, would surely have excellent service by ALL employees. I will say that from what I saw the technicians looked like they were very attentive some people even had two technicians working on them at the same time (mani and pedis). Maybe I am just not supposed to get pedicures because this is the second time (different place) I have gotten a technician who I felt just did not want to be there. As I got settled into the pedi chair and got the massage feature going I saw this woman coming my way she looked a bit disheveled, I hoped that she was only getting things ready for my actual technician, because I just had this feeling as soon as I saw her, that she did not want to be there and that she would just not do a good job. Well of course she was my technician, first thing she handed me 4 cards with only expensive pedicures to choose from. The one I chose was supposed to come with a complimentary alcoholic beverage which she never offered me. When my mom's technician handed her a card about which pedicure she wanted, it was a completely different card and it offered pedicures from $26 on up. My mom's technician was a sweet young girl, who gave my mom lots of attention, which I was glad for because this was her first time and I really wanted it to be special for her. My technician was up and down the whole time, she talked really quietly I never knew if she was mumbling to herself, talking to me or to the girl working with my mom. She was looking all over the place and at times she was giving me the pedicure one handed because she was turned so far around looking somewhere else. She did not pay special attention to problem areas I have at all. She did not put the spacer between my toes like all of the others that I watched did, nor did she put my flip flops on before polishing my toes (like my mom's technician did for her) so my one toe's polish is messed up. I really do wonder if perhaps she has ADD. If I had paid $26 for my pedicure I would probably not be writing this, but, here is the thing I spent $42 because that was the only price range she offered me, and one day later my big toes were very rough from the problem spots she neglected, 2 days later the flats of my feet were rough too, so I just pulled out my old foot file and filed my feet down myself and you know what?!?!?! They stayed smooth for about 6 days! I thought that was what I was getting the pedicure for?!?!?!?! With that said I am sure you can get a good pedicure at Cali Spa, just be aware if your technician does not look too thrilled to be there and is looking all over the place and not being very attentive to you, you may just have the same experience as me. ;-) read more

Very disappointed with the attitude of the staff. We felt very rushed to pick our polish color. I cannot believe a place designed for pampering made us feel like cattle being herded. HORRIBLE experience! My wedding is Saturday and my bridal party all went there today. They were very rude and horrible customer service! They told me when i booked our appointments we would all get 10% off but they would not let my mom use her gift card she had to Cali Spa with the 10%! Yes, the building is beautiful and the prices are quite high but that does not account for their lack of customer service! I spent a lot of money and time to get my hair done and the stylist did not do the color I asked for. When I called back to complain the stylist told me she didn't want to do the color I asked for because she didn't "know how it would turn out". By the way, I've been coloring my hair this same color for 15 years! She should have told me from the beginning that she didn't want to do that color (just a blonde color, nothing unusual). After being a loyal customer of 9 years I will never return to Cali Spa! The customer service is getting worse and worse and the staff are rude. The add on charges to basic services make the total cost unbearable. Today they would not honor a $10 off coupon off a $65 dollar massage even the though the coupon did not state it was day specific in order to be valid. I stated they would lose all my business if they would not honor the coupon and they refused! I guess they don't care about customer service or need money.
