I have been on the search for a salon that used the Japanese massage system for your hair and scalp. The salon in Fort Wayne checked off all the boxes for me. It's a full service salon, hair, nails, retail products even a collection of clothing. My appointment was for a VIP massage with their Milbon products. it was a two hour treatment that started with an assessment of my scalp the best procedure to move forward with as far as products and then a scalp massage and of course multiple hair washes. I was 100% satisfied and can tell you I was not disappointed. It's a very relaxing experience very spa in atmosphere and my technician Christen was exceptional. There are three different treatments you can pick from but I highly recommend the VIP. It was $250 and worth every penny the salon is conveniently located off Illinois Road in Fort Wayne. I was driving 2 hours to get my hair done, finally decided to try something local. I found Salon Renew and decided to give it a try. I love what McKenna did! She worked with me on what I wanted, clarifying any questions she had to make sure she got it perfect(even down to how I wanted her to style it after she was done with the color)She was kind and friendly, the salon atmosphere was gorgeous, and the interactions I had with other stylists/reception were all wonderful; everyone was so sweet. I used to really enjoy visiting Salon Renew. It was a cozy boutique hair salon with a nice atmosphere where everyone was cheerful, the music was lively and there was a lot of conversation. However, since the expansion the dynamic has changed. There definitely is a different "air" about the place. I get my hair styled on the "old" side of the Salon, so I haven't been fortunate to experience the new addition or the fancy new sinks. I'm honestly not sure why only certain Stylists get to use the new sinks versus the old sinks. I was at the Salon recently and literally no one spoke to each other. It seems like the last few times I have been there that there have been more empty chairs than not. I think perhaps I'm not the only person who feels this way? read more

Amazing experience today at Salon Renew. Ashlyn was able to transform a very bad haircut that I had gotten over the weekend at Great Clips into a beautiful stacked bob that I had originally wanted. I was very impressed when I sent a message on Yelp on Sunday to get an appointment ASAP and someone contacted me within an hour! The salon is beautiful and it just felt like home. Ashlyn was very caring and really listened to what had happened with my hair previously and what I wanted done. The products that they use smell amazing, probably the best smelling shampoo I have ever come across. I will be picking up some product on my next visit. Ashlyn also offered to show me the color selection for my next visit which I thought was a great touch so I could keep that in mind for my next appointment. I am so glad that I found Salon Renew. So happy I found this salon. I've had my hair done by both Jordan and Cayla, and both did an amazing job. I've tried other high end salons and they could never get it just quite right for the expense. Been a client here for about a year now and I've been very happy every visit. They honestly have given me EXACTLY what I was looking for with my hair. A few months ago I also began seeing Kelly, their massage therapist. She's been a miracle worker for my neck and shoulder pain. Just beware if you have no self control like me, the front room is filled with cute boutique clothing and home decor, so I always end up buying something extra. read more

Amy is the best! My hair and color looks amazing and I could go 6 weeks or 6 months between appointments and no one would know! She is sweet and honest about what will look good and what might not work. I've also had my hair done by Jordan and lashes done by Cayla. Amazing work by all of them! I recently went to Salon Renew for a cut and color. I had an excellent experience start to finish. I received great service, top notch advice, and just generally had a great time. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the conversation was fun, and a week later I'm still in love with my hair. Can't wait to go back! I could go on and on but those reviews are boring. Sadly, my first experience at Salon Renew was my last. I am fair, and I will give a honest review. The salon itself is stunning; everything about it is stunning to the eye. The theme, the boutique, the coffee/beverage station, etc. The stylists are gorgeous, the talent is most definitely there... but the atmosphere is absolutely TERRIBLE. I felt like I was in high school all over again, surrounded by the entitled mean girls that believe that their shit doesn't stink. I came in on a slow day, mind you. The owners, Chelsea & Amy, merely gave me smirks, nonetheless a smile or any other form of acknowledgement. Maybe it's because I didn't walk in decked out in LV like some of the other clients there, I'm not quite sure. The stylist that I had could sense that I felt extremely uncomfortable, and was trying her absolute hardest to make me feel welcome, and comfortable. Bless her heart. The other stylist in the room did nothing but give me weird, judgmental looks while I was speaking to MY stylist. It's very obvious that this salon is money-hungry and seeks wealthier clients, which is fine. Word of advice, Chelsea & Amy, it's a shame that you two set the atmosphere with such a snobby, negative vibe. Do better. Ultimately, y'all are lucky that y'all caught me on a good day and didn't get cussed out. Thank you to my stylist that not only treated me with the utmost respect, but did an amazing job on my hair.
