Cut/Color. I have been going to Lisa at this salon since I moved to Fort Wayne six years ago. I have been getting highlights off and on for many years - more on than off. I sincerely appreciate her work. My highlights are the best they have ever been in all these years. She is very personable and committed to doing a good job. She has sometimes been stressed about time demands but she has never let that lead to shortcuts in doing my hair. I have some serious health issues and she has been very understanding of my needs. I'm rating this one because I will not recommend getting lash extensions there for the third time they keep charging me different prices every time I get my fill in. Lash tech takes so long for a fill in and the result is so bad. I've been getting my lash extensions since 2018 and with this one I will never go back at all!!! read more

In Touch Salon and Spa appointment was incorrectly booked by desk person, so the stylist was rushed and careless. I usually really like my stylist, but she seemed caught off guard by my color choice, almost like she wasn't prepared for full color? She then conspired with her assistant on how to charge me, but didn't clue me in. The stylist put such a scant amount of hair in each foil (Price per foil $5-10 each) while pulling so hard I had to tilt my head. When she was finished, the weight of all the foils pulled down on my hair so much I could feel my pulse in my scalp. Ouch! I didn't want to bother the stylist who had moved on to work on another client, leaving me with her assistant. Got it rinsed, then color put on, with fewer foils, thankfully, (which the trainee tugged out instead of unwrapping) The "assistant" who is actually just a trainee, didn't get all the conditioner rinsed out after the final wash, but she shampooed it twice in a row for some reason. My scalp is tight and itchy now. It hurt when the stylist was brushing and drying because the unrinsed conditioner was making the hair stick together as it dried. Price was $295. I asked if prices had gone up, because YIKES. Desk person mumbled, "Looks like you got retouches, lift, process..." then asked if I wanted to schedule my next appointment. I said "Definitely not." After I left, I noticed just how filmy my hair was at the crown. Also, upon closer inspection, it looked like someone drew with marker along my hairline. I was late to work already (not knowing my two hour appointment was going to be four hours) plus I now needed to go home and wash off my forehead, neck and hands. Overall, the stylist seemed rushed, scattered, and the trainee seemed like she was just killing time until the stylist could come back. I did not receive the typical complimentary hand massage, which I had been looking forward to. (I was also informed the shampoo and rinse is considered complimentary. Hahaha!) I had scheduled the appointment with a particular stylist because I usually really enjoy how she does things. It was a terrible experience. Overpriced, careless, and condescending "customer service". Told the manager my hair was just okay. I asked for a partial refund since they were not transparent with pricing, and the service was so half-assed. She said "Since you LOVE your hair, we can't give you a refund." Basically gaslighting, as she repeated how "happy" I was with my hair. I corrected her several times. During our phone conversation, when asked why they didn't notify me it would cost twice as much, the manager literally said they don't mention price to clients because they don't want to offend the wealthy ones who might say "You don't think I can afford it??" As a lot of women understand, I was trying to do something to replenish my reserves. Instead, I felt treated as an inconvenience, served in a half assed manner, then utterly blindsided by the price. Very disappointing, and draining. Apparently it was considered a double process, which I was just expected to know and was then made to feel stupid by the manager when I asked. Thankfully, she educated me all about scheduling procedures, color pigments, processing, rich people, trainees, blah blah blah. The stylist did explain how the purple may continue to rinse out over the next COUPLE washes. Seven washes later and I am still ruining my shower curtain, pillow cases, shirts, etc. I have used numerous cotton pads with coconut oil trying to get the color off my neck, back, shoulders, and hands. First off: Lexie does a fabulous job on my hair! She makes me feel comfortable in her chair and knows what colors/cuts will compliment my skin tone and face shape. She's got a natural talent & it shows! InTouch is a small, Aveda salon up north. I like the intimate style & you never feel overwhelmed by loud music, tons of stylists, or crying children everywhere. I don't live in Fort Wayne, but my family does, so I've stopped in here multiple times when I've been in town and needed a haircut. I've never had a consistent stylist, but I feel this is a good place to go for a solid haircut. I've had good experiences (hence the repeat visits) until my most recent visit. I went a couple weeks after they re-opened due to the shutdown. Props to them for taking safety guidelines seriously. I had to sign a waiver, wear a mask, be screened at the door, and stay 6 feet apart from all other patrons. I missed being offered a drink, but I understand why. However, this cut and color was not good. Color was dull and I got some weird layers that I did not ask for and am still trying to grow back out. I had to get home and I knew I wouldn't be back for a while, so I didn't make a big deal about it, but I was disappointed and I may look somewhere else if I need a cut in Fort Wayne again. However, I have a much longer positive history with them, so they still get four stars. read more

This was my first experience coming to the salon and I have to say it was very negative. I sat and waited for 22 minutes and no one Talk to me or explained why my stylist had still not greeted me my appointment was at 4 PM and I walked out at 4:22 PM no one even noticed me leaving. The atmosphere in the salon was very hectic loud and they were setting up some sort of sale for children's clothing all around me in the waiting area people coming and going in setting up all kinds of shelving and racks for clothing and the whole time I'm sitting there no one acknowledged the fact that I had not gone back I hadn't even met a stylist or anything. I called and asked who the manager was on duty and they said they didn't have a manager on the weekends and that Cindy is the owner so I suppose I will call her on Monday and let her know how unprofessional the salon runs When she's not in. read more

In touch salon is my favorite salon ever! I have gone to a few different salons in the past and none compare to theirs! I always go to my girl Gabbie and she does a FABULOUS job. I've written a review for this salon in the past. I've been in love with this place since I started going there. I've got a busy schedule, so I'm never really able to schedule appointments much in advance, and because of that I've seen several different stylists. I've said that every one of them has been as great as the last. I've been to Jenny T., Tayler, Natalie and Alexa, and the experience has been fantastic with all 4, and I've been over the moon happy with my hair. And then there was yesterday. I had an appointment for a haircut with Makenna (not sure if that's the correct spelling). It started out great, like every other appointment. We chatted, I showed her a photo. The main change I wanted was in the back of my hair. She seemed to understand, saying, "I'll leave it longer in the back, and just take the neck line up a bit." I agreed. Next was the very relaxing scalp and shoulder massage with lavendar oil. I could feel the stress leaving. Then on to the shampoo sink for that lovely experience. Then the haircut started. The back of my hair is almost to my scalp. My bangs are crooked, and overall it just doesn't lay right. I've never called a salon to express dissatisfaction before, but a friend encouraged me to, so I called and asked for the owner. When I explained why, the receptionist apologized for my experience, and although the owner was with a client, she or the salon manager would call me back as soon as they were free. That was around 2:00 yesterday. At 9:00 pm yesterday, I called back since I had not been called. The owner was gone, but they assured me they would leave a message, and she would call me as soon as she got in this morning. It's midday, and still no call. I hate to leave this salon, since I've loved every other experience, but I'm so disappointed in my "guy hair", and the lack of response to a complaint. In Touch is definitely out of touch with this issue. :( read more

Just got a men's cut from Jenalyn today. Was greeted as soon as I waked by a few of their staff at the front desk. Was offered coffee or soda before I was taken back. The stylist offered a complementary scalp and should massage, I highly recommend you accept as it was great. Cut was pretty straightforward and the shampoo was fantastic. Went in with reasonable expectations - I had booked a shampoo, blow dry and style for my high school aged daughter. Ran an errand for my daughter while she was in the salon - when I returned my daughter was in tears - Ginger had not washed her hair, or obviously blow dried it, nor styled it the way my daughter had explained. Ginger then insisted she was in the right, and my daughter was in the wrong. EXTREMELY unprofessional. I went to pay and was charged for a shampoo, blow dry and style regardless of the fact there was no shampoo and no blow dry. I asked to pay for only a dry style. Ginger insinuated I was going to walk out without paying, even though I was insisting I would pay for a dry style and simply asking why I would pay for services I did not receive. Ginger then said I was a "bad" mom as a "good" mom would have been there for her daughter's hair appointment. That yes she was judging me and she was just taking it upon herself to tell me the truth. Ha. Obviously she doesn't have teenage girls, never mind I am running around town for this same teenage girl. The unprofessional comments that came out of Ginger were remarkable - appalling to say the least - and quite embarrassing for the salon owner if she knew what her "senior" stylist said or how she treated a client. I ended up just paying for the shampoo, blow dry and style to just make Ginger and her sanctimonious attitude cease to exist in my life. I do recommend to AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

My daughter left here in tears! She wanted highlights and spent 4 hours there, and when she left she was a blonde, not a brunette. She said the hairstylist didn't listen to her At ALL. For example: The hairstylist kept parting her hair down the middle and my daughter had to keep correcting her to change it back to the side. She asked my daughter the same questions like "do you like your job?" a couple times. She really made my daughter feel unimportant and hurt. I will never use this salon again! If you call and cancel more than twice, they put it down as a "no show" and will charge you an additional 50% if you want to schedule another appointment. There are plenty of aveda salons in the city to choose from. I don't have to go there. read more

The management of this salon is TERRIBLE! I showed up for an appointment this morning and the salon was closed! No one bothered to call me to let me know. No message on their answering machine. The stylists are very pleasant, but some of them are not sophisticated when it comes to color. I kept asking for and being promised copper highlights for my auburn hair, but kept getting blond, blond, blond as the result. This is just one example among several of my color disappointments. I rescheduled my appointment from Friday of this week to Wednesday and it was for a Cut and Color because my hair had gotten too long. When I showed up, I was informed it was just for a Cut. Disappointed but I need the haircut. Then hardly a word from the stylist was spoken to me in over thirty minutes and when I ask if she would take new customers, her reply was if she had the time... The first two times she was on probation, she was great, and then she became a stylist and her attitude went south. So the last time she didn't ask me if I wanted to reschedule and this time she didn't either. If she's that good and that busy, than she certainly doesn't need my business and I won't ever be going back. And no I left no tip as she didn't deserve one!
