*Late Review* I went here to get smog done on my truck. I have had many experiences where a vehicle of mine may have no modifications, or tampers, but the shop would find any type of way to get you to fail or get you to fork out more money if it is just something really small. Luckily, Cali Auto Shop did not express that negative experience with me. I was happy with how quick the process was, the pricing is just about average, and they definitely know what they're doing. I bought a Beatle here, supposedly one owner and only 70k miles. The car was clean on the inside but beat up on the outside - apparently it changed hands three times in Mexico between different auctions, and there they move the card around with fork lifts -something he neglected to mentione which is why the registration cost and additional $60 due to missing titles which I demanded from him. So I bet you if you go there now there will be a Beatle with dented side skirts from the fork lifts. This Beatle was also repainted underneath and missing a skid "plate" and a reserve tire. It took over ten visits to get a reserve, which ultimately didn't even fit the vehicle. Also the blinkers never worked. Ovie the owner is not truthful and his work is shoddy. I threatened to sue cause the transmission gave out not even 5k miles later. He said go ahead so I did. When he was served, he didn't show but lucky for him the date was postponed due to COVID. Then he saw I was serious so he apologized and offered to put in a rebuilt transmission. That job was done and it took a month. I needed the car in the meantime, but he also tracked on 2 parking tickets which he did pay for. However the work was terrible completed in that the transmission leaked like crazy to where I could no longer park in anyone's driveway. The Sunroof also didn't work at that point and this is now a year and a half of the car ownership and less than 5k miles on it. He also zip[ tied a bunch of cables, broke the oil check pipe where the dip stick goes, and greased up the engine bay which was very clean before that. They also installed a used battery in that time but didn't bother to screw it down properly and it died within a month so I had to change it. Ovie is not to be trusted and you should avoid this place - cars are junk and their work is even worse. read more

I had work done here on my 2016 Kia Forte. My mirror popped off after i got too close to my apartment garage backing in. Kia quoted me $600 and that's without painting it the same color. This shop quoted me about $100 for labor and $100 for the part. I managed to salvage the top piece that would have needed to be painted. Which saved another trip somewhere else. They don't do paint, but they did fix my mirror the day the part came in, took about an hour. Very grateful as i easily had $200 for repair, but wouldn't have been able to do $500-$600. I think most shops would have thrown in the towel on this one...turned out to be a problem caused by a dealer installed secondary alarm. Man where do I start... I started out by going to another shop I was having problems with my air conditioning in my Pacifica they looked my car over and said I need like 3 different things for a cost of over 500 bucks it just didn't seem right so I called my buddy and he recommended Cali Auto thank God he did I called and talked to them about what was going on with my car they said to bring it in so they could run some tests and so I drove over to there shop about 20 miles away from my place (well worth it) got there and they pulled my car in right away and hooked it up to a fancy machine and about 45 minutes later came in and told me that my a/c needed a charge and they also ran a pressure leak test and it passed no leaks also they added some dye so if I ever get a leak it will easily be found man let me tell you how happy I was saved me a ton of money and were upfront and honest I recommend the shop. Let me start off by saying, whatever you need done CALI AUTO SHOP can do. I took my accord to another mechanics and they charged me an arm and a leg and still managed to ruin my car. I was referred to Cali Auto Shop by a family friend and right away I knew I could trust OV. He has been working on cars 15 yrs, He is very honest with his work, he will tell you EXACTLY what you need more importantly. I came in with what I thought was a brake issue with my 2000 Toyota Celica. When I explained the nature of the problem to Chris, he knew almost immediately that the problem was with the struts. The guys took a test drive and a look, and I appreciated that they actually showed me what was going on in the car. The brakes were in top form and the struts were shot, leading to a very bumpy and unsafe driving experience, and long stopping distances. The oil leak that I had been told elsewhere was nothing to worry about was actually pretty severe as I saw myself. I have owned this lowered car for 13 years and was always told that the process was irreversible. Within minutes, the guys here said the only thing lowering the car were the springs, which were not even the correct springs for the car, and that it could be "unlowered" easily with new springs. Can't believe no other mechanic ever bothered to tell me. They found a compatible set of springs an installed at no extra charge. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional and prices are fair. I will definitely be back! read more

SUPER IMPRESSED!!! 15 minutes after i noticed a dangerous feel/sound coming from my rear brakes my husband suggested i contact Cali Auto because he said they might check out the brakes at no cost before we jist go purchase new ones. Called and spoke with Ovi and he said come right over. He greeted me with a smile as i pulled up and right away took my car to one of the lifts. He found that one of my brake bolts had fallen off and it could have been a very dangerous situation if i hadnt come to him. Let me remind you that he did all this willingly at no cost! Wow! Thank you so much! He replaced the bolt that was missing, checked out all the other brakes and went out of his way to even check all the fluids on my car while waiting!!! He was very kind, courteous and kept checking on me to inform me of what was going on. What an awesome experience! I felt like family and very welcomed upon coming here!
