I wish I had more words to describe my experience here!…read more I've never been to this area before so I asked a friend who lives nearby for recommendations. Los Moles was one of the top recs and I can definitely see why. We found street parking a couple blocks away and enjoyed the weather walking to the restaurant; the parking meter was a few bucks for maximum two hours, not bad! The exterior of the restaurant is beautiful, music was playing, and the interior was just as beautiful and cozy. They offer the menu or a buffet style. The service was phenomenal right off the bat and continued throughout our meal. I ordered the Carne Asada Platillo Casero and my boyfriend got the Burrito Mojado with Carnitas. For drinks, we got a Tamarind Margarita and a Modelo Especial. Both of us were overwhelmed with how good our orders were - we finished every last bite on our plates! My plate included beans, rice, cotija cheese, nopales, onions, carne asada, and guacamole, and they gave me a steaming basket of two fresh made tortillas. It was the perfect amount of food and every last ingredient was enjoyable on its own, so combined it was even better. I kept repeating, "Wow, this is so good!" throughout the meal. I wish I had asked for an extra order of the nopales and onions to go because I enjoyed it so much. My margarita was probably the best margarita I've had, hands down. I don't usually drink so I couldn't finish the whole glass, but I easily could've had two if they were nonalcoholic! I highly recommend coming here and enjoying a meal. I'm so glad my friend told me about this place, I wouldn't even mind making the drive again to try more of the menu :)

Don't get adventurous here - just get the mole. It's in the name, and it's really good…read more But the burritos / standard fare is really not great. Just weird and bad.

The waitress came once to refill my water and other than that two more times to get the plates. Mind you we did not eat much so we were low maintenance table. I asked for the check and walked it to the counter to pay since I noticed recently the waiters tend to stand right in front of you while you fill out the receipt. She followed me to the front counter and waited next to me as I handed the check to lady at the counter. I thought she was just going to ask her something just to give her the benefit of the doubt. For 2 adults and a 5 year old the bill came out to $60.11. Since we were low maintenance and barely had plates for her to come pick up unlike other full tables I decided no tip today. I paid and was heading out after putting away my card and she approached the counter and then said "excuse me. No tip?" I was shook but replied nicely yes I didn't leave a tip. She said the tip is not included in the total. I replied "I know. I did not leave a tip." She asked "why you don't leave me tip?" I replied a little louder "a tip is optional not mandatory and I chose not to leave a tip" She then said ok and had a look on her face like I left without paying or something. My brother had said he has also ran into issues like this with them hovering whenever you are going to pay and even say things under their breath on the days we do not leave a tip. Mind you this is one day i chose not to leave a tip. I usually leave $5 if service deserves it or if I feel generous. It is not mandatory so having them treat me like I didn't fully pay is ridiculous. I will not be returning to empire buffet as again this has been an ongoing issue. I don't like them hovering over my shoulder as I pay or in this instance following me to the front counter and confronting me in front of their manager (who did nothing). If this has happened to you please leave a review so something can be done because it seems this behavior is allowed in this location.

I saw an Instagram ad for half off the rodizio experience on Memorial Day and had to make a…read morereservation. Matt had been talking about Brazilian steakhouse every time he saw something that reminded him remotely of Fogo de Chao, so I figured this opportunity might be of interest to him. Come to find out that the day after I make the reservation he asks if I'd be willing to go a Brazilian steakhouse for the long weekend, so I got to surprise him with the fact that I already had a reservation. I'm not the biggest fan of Fogo de Chao based on my prior experiences there. I do believe that I have been to a Show de Carnes location before and had another great experience, but also Show de Carnes's Memorial Day promotion was slightly better than Fogo's and I much preferred that their location was outside of the city even if on the other side of the bridge. I did have to call the morning of to delay our reservation slightly, but it was taken care of for us without hassle. We even got seated closer to the original reservation time when we ended up running early. There isn't much space to wait in the front lobby area especially on a packed night, but everything looks very upscale from the wine bottles on the wall to the crystals above the self-serve side buffet. As far as mandatory meats, I have a couple of personal rules when it comes to Brazilian steakhouse, including go light on the sides and only go for the beef. Picanha is my favorite, extra rare too, so I made myself a whole pincanha meat salad while probably giving the guy cutting the meat a good scare. The grilled pineapple is also a must, followed by the cheese and honey. Matt got a lot more variety but it takes a while for the guys to come around with meat that has already been sliced up some so I can get to the parts that I like. We got a papaya cream and passion fruit mousse for dessert, which we probably really didn't need but enjoyed thoroughly as we are both dessert people. As it was a busy night, it was not too easy to flag a server down. I saw picanhas skip our table left and right so I'm not sure there's an established route for them to bring the meat around. The staff did seem to work together with great teamwork, and someone always stopped by to make sure we had more water and our choice of sides. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that is a protein or all you can eat fan. The regular price per person is definitely steep in my humble opinion, but if you can catch a promo it'll be a great time. Also, don't choose between still or sparkling, ask for tap. I will not be getting got again next time.
