I bought dinner here before a 'Thursday Night at the Bandstand' concert. Calling it a bakery doesn't do it justice. They offer hot sandwiches including chicken, meatballs and veal as well as pizza. It's one of the only places on Main Street in Unionville other than the ice cream shops that offers fast, savory food. They have a few high tables outside but no chairs. The take-out food prices are reasonable. A breaded chicken sandwich with a delicious sauce on a fresh bun is $8.50 or $9.50 with toppings. The grocery prices are kind of high. The service was pleasant and efficient. But the cashier may have been new because she asked me and my friend what we ordered twice. I don't think she was paying attention. I was given a paper napkin but my friend had to request one. I will go back when I'm in the area.

I went to check out Calabria today before Jazz Fest started and decided to try out their lobster tail. It was flakey and filled with ricotta (pistachio and regular) for around $9.60 ($8.50 before tax). You can probably split this with a friend cause it's quite a lot for one sitting. If you buy 6 pastries it is tax free. They also sell pizza and sandwiches if you want to grab lunch and other Italian goodies such as pasta, sauce etc.

Cinnamon Roll ($3)

A nice little bakery along Main Street Unionville. We stopped by for a quick snack before lunch. They have quite a bit of selection: from drinks, sandwiches, to hot entrees, to pasteries and even a store section. There was only 1 person I saw working but she was quick and friendly so not much of a wait. I ordered 2 pasteries, the lobster tail and a cinnamon roll. The lobster tail pastery was good and very crispy on the outside. The cinnamon roll was decent but I wish the frosting was more soft. Prehaps would have been more enjoyable if it was hot. My friend ordered a lasanga slice as it just came out of the oven. I've heard good things about it, and is now on my to-try list for next time!

Mortadella sandwich & crema cafe

Bakery on Main Street Unionville to get grab and go, pizza, sandwiches, desserts, coffee, and much more. I got the mortadella sandwich and unfortunately the bread very stale. It was very hard to bite into and chew. However the sfogliatelle was good and I really liked the crema cafe.

The presentation looked…read morestunning, and the reviews were promising, so I made the trek to Langham Square specifically to try it out, braving the chaotic parking situation along the way! We arrived as a table for two around 3:15 PM and were seated immediately, taking the third of six tables available at the time. The shop is small but clean, with traditional decor that I absolutely loved for the overall vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly throughout our visit. They were always smiling, polite, and attentive. They also made sure to keep our complimentary tea cups filled, and the tea was delicious! I ordered the Grand Slam Bowl, which came with coconut milk, taro balls, sago, grass jelly, and mango. It also typically includes red beans, but I asked to have those omitted. Compared to other dessert spots I've tried, this was less sweet, which I really appreciated. The toppings were spot-on in terms of texture, making every bite enjoyable. It was so good that I ended up ordering takeout for my family! The Mango Double Skin Milk Pudding was just as good as I'd heard. It's one of their signature items, and rightfully so. The mango was wonderfully sweet, while the pudding itself was soft, smooth, and creamy. This is definitely something I'd order again. Lastly, I tried the Herbal Jelly with Osmanthus Syrup. It's adorable that they actually make it in a turtle-shaped mould. This one was a little more divisive for me. I would have preferred a stronger herbal jelly flavour, while the osmanthus syrup was quite pronounced, so much so that it overpowered the jelly. It was interesting to try, but of the three, this was my least favourite. Bonus: You can get 10% off when paying with cash! Overall, Sweet Together lived up to the hype for me. Between the delicious desserts, lovely presentation, and genuinely warm service, it was well worth the trip. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

I have been coming to Sweet Culture for many years. It's my go to place for traditional Chinese…read moredesserts and savoury snacks. The place has an oriental feel with wooden tables and chairs. Nothing that is too comfortable but good for a quick snack or when craving something chinese and sweet. Big tables for a group or with a few friends. The service is fast and friendly. You will hear mostly the Chinese language around you so the experience is immersive like being back in Hong Kong culture. We had the traditional double skin steamed egg with milk. This was so comforting to eat and not too sweet. The black sesame paste soup is very smooth and yummy, it's my favourite dessert. We also had some snacks like steamed rice rolls with sweet soya sauce, peanut sauce and sesame sprinkles. Yummy! Finally our favourite dessert... Crispy milk fried and you can dip it in caster sugar. This place has reasonable prices and it is as traditional as it is Chinese. If you haven't tried Chinese desserts you are missing out. What you find at Sweet Culture is the traditional, authentic desserts and nothing fancy at a reasonable price. Just bring cash otherwise pay upcharge for credit card payment.

I looked at the menu and thought I was transported to the late 90's, and the other thing is the feel of this place, true Cantonese desserts, I saw the savoury snacks they had, but I only wanted sweets, and this place delivers. I had their black sesame tong yuen in ginger soup, and this, to say the least, a sweet way to end the night. Being in this OG place having Cantonese songs playing in the background, a few tables of people poking at their phones, some people coming in to pick up take out, and friendly staff which seems to know the returnee customers that come through the door. If you need a place where you want either Cantonese sweets, or savoury's, a place to just sit there and not be disturbed, or really a place to bring friends and chat, where you can actually hear eachother and have something good to eat, come here. I wish we had a place like this in Vancouver.

Have had many different mille crepe cakes from Xcakes. Matcha, Earl Grey, mango, Taro. My favourite is still the mango. So freshly made on the day you pickup and you can taste the quality and freshness as a result. It's not too sweet and feels light so I can happily enjoy the cake! They do custom designs or multi flavor cakes as well. They also have sponge cake cupcakes. Love Maggie, Jay, and their team!

Tucked inside Markham 朗豪坊, X Cafe is a takeout-only spot that keeps things simple but does them right. They have a solid selection of ready-made small cakes for quick pickups, and you can also pre-order custom cakes in your preferred flavors and sizes. Prices are very reasonable, especially given how fresh everything tastes. It's nothing over-the-top or flashy just genuinely satisfying when you're craving dessert. What impressed me most was how well-balanced the flavors were. Nothing overly sweet or heavy. I usually prefer sponge cakes over mousse, and theirs really delivered soft, airy, and perfectly moist with just the right hint of sweetness. A lovely go-to for cake lovers, and definitely a spot worth supporting if you appreciate thoughtfully made, no-fuss desserts from a local small business

Their egg waffles are always freshly made and its crispy, it's legit bomb! My kids love them and so do I. The owners are super nice and sweet. When they see my kids, they would offer them a little treat like candy or freezies. They offer a variety of drinks and desserts. Ice cream is offered in many different flavors. Original egg waffles are 2 for $5 which is the cheapest I've come across, no where else beats this price. I keep coming back here because of their great service and the prices are really good. If you're craving for some dessert or even a drink I would highly recommend this place. So far they are closed on Tuesdays and sometimes they are closed for a period of time due to vacations.

Total should have been 9$ however they charged me $10 not a big deal their tip or tax or maybe they didn't have change in cash. Black Sesame one came out crispy, matcha flavor wise wasn't too memorable. My friend wanted to order ice cream the lychee and ube was out. Settled for mango. They took time to decorate the ice cream apparently made in house. 3.98$ plus tax for 1 scoop. Price was decent they had some other deals such as original bubble waffle 1 for $4 or 2 for 6$. Special drink items 1$. For cheap eats in the area it's good. Nothing overly memorable. Hard working family appreciate the hustle.

2026 Birthday Series -- Stop #1: Meet Fresh…read more I'm kicking off a series reviewing all the places I visited to redeem my birthday goodies in July 2026. Along with an overall rating, each spot gets scored on redeemability (how easy it is to claim) and actual value. Redeemability: 3/5 (requires app download and sign-up, kinda convoluted) Actual value: 2.5/5 (50% off a regular dessert) Though the birthday reward itself was pretty mid, Meet Fresh has been my family's favorite since the late 2000s in Taiwan -- especially my mom's. Honestly, I get it completely. A bowl of freshly shaved ice topped with condensed milk, brown sugar, taro tapioca balls, Japanese custard pudding, freshly cooked taro, red beans, and Job's tears etc -- it's an experience you just can't get from HK dessert shops or Korean bingsu spots. Overall 5/5 because it's a genuine family favorite we return to every month or two. It was a huge loss when the North York location closed permanently.
