Meet Fresh is great for getting a late night dessert that isn't too heavy. The space has a number of tables and chairs, making it easy to dine in or wait for takeout. They have a few board games as well. Given the ample seating, it's also a good spot to do some work. I've come here multiple times and it always hits the spot.
Awww. Pretty disappointing compared to actual meet fresh locations around the world! I don't know what's happening with Ontario but I feel like everywhere is trying to cut corners and costs while charging the most! (why do you think I'm leaving onterrible????) For $33, this is what I got - insanity. The signature jelly dessert along with a less than mediocre brown sugar shaved ice? For $33? Nah.... No way. If you've only been to meet fresh in Ontario, hope you know that other locations are not like this and you are getting half of what you're supposed to for more $. The meet fresh signature jelly dessert only had a small handful of sweet potato mochis whereas most of the other locations have way more! Also what really threw me off was that instead of actual cream or condensed milk that they usually pour over or include on the side, there was a little container of coffee mate.....you know... the ones you get for free at roadside gas stations with a coffee or in a cheap motel? The brown sugar shaved ice didn't really have a whole lot going for it. Yes both items were good but only if you've never had a comparison (yes yes comparison is the thief of joy. And also your money haha) I love Taiwanese dessert so I was really hoping for the best but this just wasn't it and I didn't think it was worth it at all! The store itself was spacious and clean, and the staff were kind though. The desserts also came out super quickly!
FYI - this place is quite busy on a weekend night, even after 9 PM! It's situated somewhat in/above a quasi-parking lot, and I think it is somewhat confusing to get to. I've heard good things about their grass jelly so was debating if we get a grass jelly drink or something else. We ended up ordering their brown sugar shaved ice dessert. It had the grass jelly, some pudding, tapioca, sweet potato and taro rice balls, and ice cream on top. I loved the taro rice balls - they were insanely good. Overall the dish was ok - the brown sugar syrup wasn't evenly dispersed throughout the dessert and while there were aspects I loved (like the taro rice balls), the rest was ok.
They have charging stations on the side wall!!! So thoughtful! The looks of the shaved ice was great but the amount of sugar/ syrup they put for the shaved ice is wayy too much. I think the ice cream at the top is tofu something... If you're expecting vanilla it's not. I like how the grass jelly desert they give you a coffee creamer as the milk to go on top, very hygienic. I was looking around and the old lady beside me just had a side of red bean I was so attempted to ask her did she just get the additional topping as a dish... Mystery of how ppl order???...
Came on a weekend night, and a few other people were also ordering this for dessert. I got the Signature Icy Grass Jelly and Icy Taro Ball #2 for my cousin. I would say the signature icy grass jelly was quite refreshing. I liked the herbal ice flavour. The taro balls had good chewy texture but were on the bland side... My cousin said his icy taro ball #2 was also bland in general. Cash was prompt and we also received our takeout order quickly. For $8, it doesn't seem worth it for some canned grass jelly and shaved ice. Glad I gave this a try and might be a good treat for hotter days.

I was able to try the signature icy grass jelly - grass jelly dish with herbal blended ice and taro balls ($10ish) and their winter melon tea with grass jelly ($6). was probably a bit too much grass jelly for one night but I enjoyed it! The icy grass jelly was easy to eat and the additional toppings were super chewy and tasty. The drink was good and had a very strong tea flavor if you're into that!
Not sure what has happened the past few years, but quality has gone down by quite a bit. I usually get the icy signature (with grass jelly, taro balls, ice and the little cream cup they provide). For some reason it was not that great :( The ice was chunky and stuck together, they charge $1 for the creamer (which is actually a coffee whitener). Also got the hot almond #1 dessert that came with taro balls, tapioca, mung beans and almonds. Looked nothing like the picture and the almond dessert tasted like they mixed powder almond with hot water. Super diluted! Maybe each location offers different quality desserts? I'm not sure. But this time was not great at all :(
In celebrating a friend's birthday, we ended up at Meet Fresh, a place I've never been to before. Her birthday, her choice. I was willing to try something new. There were so many choices, I had no idea what to order. We ended up with the Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice. What we got was a mountain of shaved ice, topped with various garnishes that I don't know the names of. It was definitely large and yummy looking! Being new to this, I tried every component of the dish and it was all delicious without being too sweet! There were different textures and flavours that all blended well together. Very nice but it was too much for us to finish it! I would come back to try more of their offerings as long as I have somebody to guide me on what to order.
Location/Service The place is within Langham Place plaza. Plenty of parking is available, including underground as well. Dessert place is on the second level, where ZenQ/ChameCha is. Pretty big inside with big and small tables. Modern furniture and lightning, ambience was pretty cool at night. Service was good, staff was able to make recommendations and they used a pager to buzz you to pick up the dessert once it's ready, rather than mindless waiting around and becoming messy. Dessert Ordered a tofu pudding with tong yuen. The tofu was smooth and soft. The tong yuen were smaller than I expected, but it had more quantity than I thought. The dessert also came with a few extra ingredients like red beans and tapioca-ish kind of things. Overall it was nice to taste, but not extremely outstanding. This place was pretty popular from Taiwan, would be interested to try other menu items to seek a favourite.
I really want to love this location since it is close to my neighborhood but I can't. I had 3 visits and this will be my last visit for sure. I came on a weekday, around 9 pm and there were 2 customers but 4 staff in the kitchen. Perhaps it was because of the virus and people afraid to eat out. I was looking for the menu in hard copy because the mochi dish was not on the electronic version on the screen. The cashier pointed toward the right side of the counter, there were a stack of the menu by the wall (um...why can't you tell me instead of pointing finger?). My order was pretty quick because there were 4 people working in the kitchen LOL. I used to order grass jelly without ice and it came with a cream but it was missing this time. I went to the counter right after I got my order and asked for cream and one of the staff said: "We have to charge 75 cents". I was shocked and explained ："the menu stated grass jelly with come with a cream and you didn't give it to me at first." Then he gave it to me without an apology. Why should I pay for your mistake? I also ordered a Jasmine Green Tea because I am thirsty. The tea was definitely overpriced at $5 without toppings. The tea was really bitter and tasted like the tea was made in the morning and it has been sitting there for a long period of time. I think there is sugar inside the tea but still really bitter.
Been ordering meet fresh so many times but this is gonna be my last time !!!!!!! Worst service! I knew they are pretty new in the location, but I dont think they are ready to open for public yet. Cafe is not too busy on Saturday night, but it took 25 mins to make 2 desserts. We ordered meet fresh signature and waffle no.3 which come with black sesame mochi and oreos. After waited for so long, they gave us wrong order! They gave us waffle no.1 with fruits. Came back to the cashier and even shows my receipt that we ordered waffle no 3. No apologies. She just said leave the wrong order there and wait for the new one, they will make it. Took another 15 mins to make waffle and put some oreos and cut bananas. In the mean time, im trying to enjoy the meet fresh signature as this is my first time trying it. To me it's quite bland. When i got home and told my sister who tried it before, she said the meet fresh signature supposed to come with milk/cream on the side, which i never get it. No wonder it just taste a bland grass jelly. Very disappointing. I was actually looking forward for these dessert, but very disappointed with what i get. To me, the people in the kitchen are so not ready to serve the customers. They clearly messed up badly my 2 orders. It doesnt worth your $30 for these kind of service. Definitely not recommended.

decided to check this place out because I have heard a lot of good things about it! this place is a healthy alternative for dessert lovers and has many standard Asian desserts. I chose to get the signature which has mochi grass jelly and shaved ice underneath. the total for one was $8.7 which a bit on the pricey side. when asking if I could get an extra creamer it 75 cents which was overpriced being that they are the same ones that can be taken from McDonald's. the item inside has a large portion and is filled to the very top which I liked. I liked that it included a lot of toppings but the ice itself is not very flavourful and has a light brown sugar grass jelly taste. I found that it tasted better after mushing everything up so that the ice had some grass jelly flavour. overall it was pretty good but not the best because of the lack in ice flavour. the mochi was squishy and probably the best part. I could taste slight taro and sweet potato flavour. I couldn't finish this so I would recommend this to be shared between two people. the great thing is that we got a coupon from signing up for the points program so it was buy one get one free. MEET FRESH signature icy grass jelly . It's been a while since I had the icy grass jelly series and oh my gosh it was amazing. It came with grass jelly, herbal blended ice, taro balls, and a creamer on the side! It was super refreshing and the perfect amount of sweetness I love their sweet taro, so I really wanted to try the new taro rice ball toppings (sweet potato/purple yam with taro paste filling)! It's always sold out, and I finally got to order it last time on Uber Eats but they gave me normal taro balls instead without telling me. . $10.40 read more

Love that they have a new location! I came on grand opening weekend to get the Almond drink with sweet potato balls. There was no line up (probably because of the cold) but I liked that it didn't take forever like the other location. The drink came out fast and super hot. Which was perfect because the other location sometimes comes warm rather than hot. This is the perfect drink for the winter to warm up your soul! It's sweet and delicious and the sweet taro ball gives it a different texted than tapioca. If you haven't tried this drink yet. I highly recommend it or any of the almond series really. read more

Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't that busy. We ordered the meet fresh signature bowl (herbal jelly with taro balls) + Q mochi and almond pudding. The ordering process was quick. They have a loyalty program unsure of how points and rewards work as the employee never explained it but I signed up. They gave me a buzzer for my order. We looked around the shop to pick a place to sit and almost every table I walked up to was dirty. Doesn't seem like the employees wiped down the tables or cleaned the floor because there was A LOT of garbage on the floor. Pretty gross still thinking about it. We got our order fairly quickly. The first thing I noticed was the natrel creamer in the tiny containers. Usually the other places I go to, provides the creamer in an actual creamer holder. MUCH MORE PRESENTABLE! I was very confused. Also, we all know that those TINY TINY creamers don't hold much cream in them. So I asked my boyfriend to ask them for an extra one. They told him it will cost $0.75. Wow. I can buy a whole bag for $6 at Costco. Yes, I know businesses has to make money somehow. HOWEVER, if I'm paying $8.7 for a bowl of herbal jelly dessert, that is made to be complemented with creamers, I would HOPE that it would AT LEAST come with a proper amount to be able to enjoy it with! But I guess since my bowl was barely half full it also made sense for the lack of creamer. The herbal jelly was good. Could be more flavourful. The shaved ice went well with the jelly. The taro balls were okay. There was a bunch that stuck together. It didn't really taste like taro in my opinion. For $8.7 it was not worth it. The portions is so small. And after looking at some of the photos here, it looks like this place is very inconsistent with portion control. Moving on to the Q mochi and almond pudding. Came with 4 tiny pieces of mochi. I honestly can't remember the flavours. 2 white and 2 black. It had some roasted coconut pieces on top. The first bite, it tasted really good but after that it wasn't anything spectacular. The almond pudding was okay. Had red bean on top. It was $5.70. Would not order again. The total came to $16.25. Damn, for this price, I definitely do not think it's worth the money. The bowl was big but the portion was small. And couldn't even give me more creamer. The place is dirty. For this price I could've gotten better dessert and service. Will not be returning. I recommend going to ZenQ. Which is in the same plaza, this across from this store. Cheaper and gives you more creamer! read more

Got the purple rice drink with mini taro ball, came to $8.7 which is pretty pricey. But man save yourself the money and go to TNT next door and buy their purple rice dessert instead because they taste exactly the same if not worse than TNT. The two stars were given to the mini taro balls, they are small and chewy so the texture was nice at least. Their cashier was also pretty rude but that's not part of the rating. It is a good location, quite convenient since there are many restaurants around the area. When entering, the lighting and decor sets a relaxing vibe. Seating area is decent and can sit up to around 30 people. It is a self help, so you go up and order and find your own seats. They will give you a buzzer, which will flash/ring when your food is ready. I find that their menu lacks a little variety. Only because it is the same few things toppings but in different bases. I tried the almond soup with purple rice. It was served warm, was quite comforting. I would like to come back again and try more on the menu. read more

The desserts were okay but the service wasn't very friendly. They are also very disorganized and gave me the wrong item... Maybe I'll wait for a while before returning. This is my second time giving Meet Fresh a shot after being disappointed at my first visit. This experience is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". During the first visit, I had seen a couple groups eating what looked like shaved ice and was intrigued at the size and the aesthetic of the dessert... Food: Fast forward to my second visit, two weeks later, I ordered a strawberry shaved ice. When you order, you're given a buzzer which rings when it's your turn to pick up the dessert. When I went to pick my shaved ice up, I saw that it was huge and nicely arranged. As I was about to try it, I realized one of my spoons were extremely sticky as if it was not cleaned properly so I got up and exchanged it for a new one. I have to say this was one of the worst shaved ice desserts I have ever gotten. The mountain of ice is drenched in two different types of syrup or jam and condensed milk. The taste of the strawberry syrup was so artificial and on top of the brown sugar or herbally syrup (not sure what the brown syrup was) the dessert was way too sweet. However, one good thing about this dessert was that it had fresh strawberries on it, but the ones we received were extremely sour. My boyfriend and I could not finish this dessert as it was so hard to eat and we can typically eat 2 large shaved ices from other restaurants like it's nothing, so not being able to finish this mountain of sugar was surprising. We also got a free drink as we signed up for a rewards card and the options were mango green tea or strawberry black tea (I believe). The mango green tea tasted so artificial and extremely sweet even after choosing the 50% sugar option. Environment: We visited on a Tuesday night and the place was very empty except for one or two other groups. The bottom screen of the menu flashes different pictures of items on the menu and also features items not stated on the menu (such as waffle desserts). Price: The shaved ice was $12.70 and the mango green tea was not on the menu. Conclusion: I will not be returning to Meet Fresh as this is the second time I've been disappointed. Nothing stood out to me at this restaurant except for the extremely artificial and sweet flavours as well as their uncleaned spoons. read more
