A magical experience at Rosen Shingle Creek. You can get your parking ticket validated but wear comfortable shoes as parking may be a hike to the main entrance of the hotel. The place was warm wood and oak feel. Mediterranean cuisine and great service from the staff. We had magical dining of octopus, oxtail fettuccine, and limoncello tiramisu. The octopus was meaty and a large portion. It had a nice char to it. Oxtail fettuccine was amazing and the sauce went well. The limoncello was fluffy and melt in your mouth. Not what i expected with no coffee taste for this tiramisu. It was a great $40 magical dining meal for the books. Definitely check this place out.

TLDR: Scrumptious Italian restaurant inside the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. Easy enough to get a reservation (OpenTable). Service was perfect. FOOD (5/5): My friend and I tried this place out for Magical Dining (restaurants across Central Florida offering fixed price menus in the Fall to support a charity). I really enjoyed everything, and the portions were generous. The octopus was as good as a dish I had in Portugal. It was cooked perfectly. The oxtail fettuccine was amazing. I had so much food that I ended up taking the dessert back because I was so full. It's a shame that the coffee machine wasn't working. At the end of all that food, I really wanted a cup of coffee. The hotel coffee shop wasn't open, and it was a long drive home. SERVICE (5/5): This is not a place to go if you want a quick meal. My friend and I didn't mind the slower pace because we were catching up. Another Yelper commented on slow service. If you need to be done by a certain time (especially since the hotel has a giant convention area), communicate that to your server early on. I think most of this was dictated by our slow speed, and I noticed our server checked in enough to be present but not enough to make us feel rushed. Perfect balance. The managers popped by a few times to check on us, which was a nice touch. (It was also refreshing that they didn't seem at all disengaged and listened to us chat about the food.) ATMOSPHERE: I think the place could do with a little bit of an update. It felt dark, but since I was here for the dinner itself, I didn't take points off from it. It's a cozy restaurant - not too big. There's an outdoor patio which was unused at the time of my visit because it pouring rain. The kitchen is offset from the dining room, and you have the perfect vantage point of the chefs in action. Thanks for the pleasant surprise, Cala Bella. I already told my husband we needed to dine here.

Cala Bella is tucked away inside the Rosen Shingle Creek resort. Amazing all around, the food and staff were all great. Some missed opportunities regarding the decor but all around a recommend if staying at the resort.

We came here to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed. Our server was great and we got their 2 person 3 course special! It came with an app, entree, and dessert! I recommend checking it out when you're in the Orlando area! I loved the hotel and this restaurant was perfect if you want a romantic get away!

Rigatoni
Lisa D.

Food good, service bad. (This seems to be a theme in Orlando). Had rigatoni, it was delicious. Our antipasto tray came out after our mains. I'm sure it would have been better if its wasn't as crowded for some other conference. They never brought us water (we were in the bar after 8). It's fine to eat here, but maybe come when there's no crowd.

Another resort winner restaurant! Italian by theme, great wine selections, portions that make you feel like you walked into a Buca di Beppo (they can be huge!) Great attentive service and amazing unique atmosphere with views of the golf course and lake. Very Southern Italian influenced recipes and definitely a crowd pleaser for Veg/V+ patrons, too. Right behind the 10-14 floor elevators with room to seat hundreds.

Cala Bella is a gem within the Shingle Creek resort. I was in town for work, so I popped in on my own and had no trouble getting a table for one. It's not a super quiet place with a lot of dinner chatter and the piano playing, but all restaurants in the resort were pretty busy as it is. There's a busy bar and then plenty of seating for tables. The charred octopus was incredible, although the tip was maybe slightly too charred. The plating was spectacular and it had an amazing balance in flavor with the olive oil and zest. The pappardelle was also incredible, with a decent portion. The bread crumbs and cheese add great texture mixes. It is so flavorful and the meat was tender. Loved these! Service was very friendly. Through most of my dining experience I was tended to very reasonably, but as the evening picked up I think I was forgotten about. My server also happened to be one of the two bartenders, but with the bar picking up they were socializing with the guests seated there quite a lot. I didn't mind too much because I was reading through dinner until waiting a while for the check, but when there was no sign the server was coming back I went up to the bar for my check. I think difficult for the server to tend the social aspects at the bar and tables, which is understandable. So regardless, I definitely recommend this spot.

Grass Fed Lamb. My favorite dish in all of Orlando.

The first time I ate dinner at Cala Bella, it was pre-ordained. Meaning the location was preselected as part of a conference weekend. So I had no idea what I was walking into. Sure I read reviews to try and get a better picture and was rather excited to experience what I read. I've since been back twice. And love the place. So let's dive into the review: Ambiance - this is the only weak link in the chain, but that's because it's in a Rosen hotel built for conferences. So the decor and furniture are bulky. Dated dark cherry wood is everywhere, and you can tell it's just a rectangle shape room in the building. However, this doesn't matter. It's nice enough, but casual enough that you can eat right after hanging by the pool. So don 't let this get you down. Service - top shelf. If you know anything about Rosen properties, they have been trained to be masters in hospitality. And the restaurant service is no different. Everyone is friendly, genuine and there to please. Beverages - awesome. Whether you want an Italian beer, a coffee or wine, or one of their super tasty cocktails, you have options here that all go will with the food on the menu. Which is what this place is really all about. The food. Food - worth driving back for. That's not a compliment to be handed out to a place way out in resort-and-conference land. But for Cala Bella, it's true. They must have a really talented team of chefs right now, because every single thing I've ordered has been amazing. The bread they serve upon seating is fresh, soft, warm, delicious. The charcuterie and cheese tray is absolutely out of this world. The Beef Carpaccio is stunningly tender and delicious. And this Grass Fed Lamb dish, pictured here, is my favorite dish in all of Orlando. With squash grown on the property, swiss chard, gravy, etc, and the most delicious lamb I've ever had, this is something I can strongly recommend. Along with the whole experience in general.

Ox tail pasta
Jeff R.

First off food was amazing and I eat at a lot of Italian restaurants. Two of us had the Ox Tail pasta and it was excellent. They offered a $40 meal special and it was the octopus appetizer was well prepared and tender. Service was a little slow as the restaurant wasn't full. This cost them one star on what would have been a five star rating.

Bella Lasagna

We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary with dinner at Cala Bella while staying at the resort, and it was an excellent choice. The food was absolutely delicious--every dish was packed with flavor. I had the lasagna, and the combination of ingredients was just perfect. My wife went with the rigatoni and loved the spicy kick. To finish off the night, we shared the Café Latte Torte. A special shoutout to Bryon, who took fantastic care of us. His recommendations were spot-on, and it was clear he truly enjoys what he does. Exceptional service makes all the difference, and he certainly made our evening even more enjoyable.

Grilled Octopus & Warm Potato Salad
Jenny L.

Had a great time here. came here for a tech conference and celebrated my coworker's birthday with the cake, which was delicious. Had the lasagna which was very yummy as well as the garden salad and octopus which was cooked perfectly. I believe this is the best restaurant in the hotel or at least the most refined. servers were also very attentive, and the atmosphere was very cozy.

French 75
Chante' M.

I had the oxtail pasta and it was so delicious. Unique flavor and definitely worth a return visit. The meatball appetizer was moist and perfectly seasoned. I had the pistachio cheesecake and it was smooth with a sweet/salty balance. The French 75 was strong and sweet, again the perfect balance Pros: valet parking is free with a stamp from the restaurant The restaurant is directly when you walk it (tucked away but close to the entrance) The service is impeccable The drinks are made to absolute perfection Portion sizes are very generous Atmosphere is very friendly and inviting Cons: None

Once the majority of the guests arrived, each table was served multiple portions of PANE AL FORMAGGIO V & SALUMI & FORMAGGI BOARDS. Both starters were freshly prepared and delicious. Our entree orders were taken as we continued networking & enjoying the starters, followed by a Caesar Salad. For my entree, I chose the CHARGRILLED BRANZINO GF and it exceeded my expectation. The headless whole fish stuff with fresh garlic & capers was served over a large portion of broccolini. The taste was amazing and the portion was generous. I was only able to finish a quarter of my entree but there was no way I was leaving anything behind. Several guests felt the same and also requested to go containers. Hubby and I passed on Tiramisu. We had no room left. Overall this was an amazing dining experience. I applaud the staff for the excellent service they delivered. I hope to visit the next time we're in Orlando.

For entrees, we had the Rigatoni alla Zozzona and the Aragosta e Frutti di Mare Fra Diavolo. The rigatoni was a flavorful, creamy pasta dish, which we preferred over the other, but both were great. The Aragosta featured lots of fresh seafood. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée, which was lit on fire, and a cannoli. An excellent meal overall! The ambiance inside is classic Italian with dim lighting and a lot of noise due to the busyness of the restaurant - not a complaint, just an observation. There's also an accordion player that goes around, which is a nice touch. The service was very high end and professional, although it was a bit slow. We were seated quickly, but it took a while before we were provided any menus, and once we ordered it took quite some time for the food to arrive. Overall, this is definitely a great date night or special occasion spot worth trying!

In Atlanta this was one of our go-to easy dates night spots if we had some shopping to do at Lenox. We had an unexpectedly boozy night the night before and wanted something easy and delicious and known instead of our initial plan to try a wine bar that was new to us. I skipped drinks altogether. Sean got a glass of Pinot Noir I got a favorite of mine- the Bolognese and my husband got the chicken parm. Both we were familiar with from previous experiences at the Atlanta location. Both solid choices. We also had a bread service and vining at served with that was different. Really good and a touch sweet. I asked the server to find out what the brand of vinegar used was and she did. She also offered to get me a little cup of it to take home with additional bread. What she actually brought out was a soup cup full of it. I looked up the brand and she basically gave me a full bottle of the vinegar free of charge as a take home garnish. What a sweet and and adorable gesture. Management; you are seeing this she was delightful and so sweet and I hope I did not get her in trouble. This was an incredibly kind gesture. She could not have been more adorable helpful or likable. We also got the butter cake. The seasonal version was a banana and oh my god was it good. We almost ordered a second helping. Just a fair warning if you dine at night this location is quite dark. Our Server was Justice who was truly the sweetest person.

The lack of customer service and attentiveness was appalling; it took an eternity for each course to reach our table. We couldn't help but feel we were being sidelined and deprioritized simply because we opted for the promotional menu. To prove it wasn't a kitchen delay, the table right next to us was turned over *twice* while we were still waiting on our meals. The General Manager did end up removing an appetizer from our final bill to try to make up for the atrocious service, but taking a few dollars off doesn't fix a ruined birthday dinner.
