Always have been fan of Cakes and Bakes Mirchi Bajjis but today we were really disappointed! Mirchi was half a mirchi and very doughy, not well fried enough either. I think I will be not getting them from here anymore now! read more

Tables were unclean when we arrived, and we were told the space is self-service, so we cleaned the table ourselves before sitting. We ordered chaat, and the spice level was not discussed. The dish was served extremely spicy to the point that my hungry child could not eat it. While eating, I found a hair in the dish. When I brought this to the cashier's attention, the initial response was to suggest it could be part of the cooking process for chana, which is not something I have encountered before in my years of cooking and eating. A replacement dish was then offered, but given the hygiene concern and the excessive spice level, I declined. No refund or alternative resolution was offered. Overall, this was a disappointing experience across cleanliness, food quality, and service. read more

I've known about Cakes and Bakes for years now because my aunt always gets their eggless mango cakes for our family events. For our wedding in May 2021, my husband and I just knew we had to get our wedding cake from them. My aunt gave me the Alex's number, he's the head baker, but it was very difficult to get a hold of him and we had a little back and forth over a two week span. Finally my husband I made the time to go to the store and talk to him directly and finally place our order. Coming into the store ended up being a good idea because we got to taste test a few flavors before finalizing on our 3-tiered cake. We knew we wanted an off white cake with flowers, but left all creative control up to Alex . They took a 30% deposit and finalized the time that they would drop off the cake during our reception party. On our wedding day, the cake turned out gorgeous. It was as beautiful as we expected and tasted great. Our guests loved that the cake had fun Indian flavors like mango and pistachio, but still had an elegant and classy look on the outside. We managed to save the top tier of the cake and froze it, hoping it tastes just as great when we take it back out for our one year anniversary. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my son .They delivered like always. The cake was yummy ,not too sweet, just like I had requested. Both the mango and strawberry flavor in both the tiers were spot on. I have been ordering birthday cakes from them ever since my son was 1.It is always a hit with guests. The decoration was just exactly how I had requested. There was a minor faux pas with the birthday boy name on the cake but the bakers fixed it in no time. In all, a very happy customer! read more

for the uninitiated, Cakes and Bakes is known for their India-styled ice creams, cakes, and pastries. as butter and sugar are prominent iingredients, i had to choose wisely to avoid eats that had these items. offerings: burgers, ice cream, pastries, cakes, sweets, snacks.. eats: vegetable cutlet(4 pieces/6.99) with green and red chutney -veg. cutlet are schredded boiled potato bits mixed with herbs, spices, rolled into an oval shape, dusted in bread crumbs & cinnamon, lightly fried. -served with red and green chutney. it's a delicious slightly spicy snack alternative to samosas. -best eaten while still hot. read more

Stay away from this place, if you are planning to order cake for any important event. These guys will totally ruin your party. I ordered a 2 tier birthday cake 2 weeks back . I gave them proper instruction along with the design etc. they said they make the best one. On party day I got the cake very late, asked for 12 but got delivered at 1:30. They said some horrible reason for the delay. I opened the cake box and it was a disaster, the design was totally different from what i ordered. Really shocked to see the outcome. also the outside design were all messed up. It felt like some scribbling done by little kid. And it super expensive also. total disappointment. And I gave them my feedback and asked for the reason offline. These guys pretended they will check with baker and get back . Inspite of multiple follow ups there is no response until now. These people taking customers for granted. Please avoid this place if you are planning for any decorative cake design. They will spoil your party like hell. STAY AWAY! read more

The cake was so huge and it would be sufficient for 50 people , but I was told that , will get only 20 servings .. i literally trashed the cake and felt very bad about wasting the food ,but I had no option .. while ordering the cake they told me that we make similar cake .. but I thought only minor issues would be there.. it turned out to be a big disaster.. I won't recommend this at all .. look at the below pic. read more

Street Pani Puri - it was really good!! He uses chole, potatoes, tomatos, carrots, onions and tomatoes. He uses a regular pani puri pani and also tamarind pani if you like it sweet. I typically get it sweetened, it's good like that for me. Without the tamarind it's not that spicy. It's $8 for a round of 8 pani puris and make sure you pay inside and get a ticket to give to him. He's only there Friday - Sundays (5-8 I think). Actual store - it was good. We were waiting for the guy to open up the pani puri lahri, so we decided to get vegetable puffs and cake. The vegetable puff was too sweet. Not too bad. The cakes - pistachio and devil's cake was great! The pistachio cake was eggless, the have the bottom row dedicated for no eggs. The devils cake was good too, it comes with a cherry jelly on top which I dont like lool. But the taste was amazing. read more

I was at a party where they had a really cute cake. What made it more unusual was it was mango. So for Thanksgiving we wanted a small (9" round) cake and they came to mind. But had no idea where they are nor near America's Tire in Dublin, so I hope this review helps as some of their pictures of the cakes are pure art. I'd love to see what a big event or wedding cake would look like. The writing on the cake for Happy Thanksgiving was lovely. The cake itself wasn't overly sweet, it was just right with the neat mango taste at the top. It was quite refreshing, not heavy. If you want a new spin on a cake to buy, check them out. They had some really neat singles to try like a rainbow and tiramisu. read more
