The bottom tray is full of the Torrejas. I go into what they are in my review. Cuban comfort food at its best.

Come here for the croquettes, the coffee, and the sandwiches and you won't be disappointed. The service is great too. They're on a mission to get your served and put a smile on your face, at least that's how I've felt the last 3 times I've been here. It's a little out of the way, and I was disappointed that they didn't have bacalao (salt cod) croquettes. Other than that, they've got a return customer in me. By far, the standout croquette for me was the ham. They also have chorizo and cheese croquettes, and all have a tangy taste in them that I'm guessing comes from the addition of vinegar in the recipe. It really works. Also worth mentioning is their "Pasta de Bocadito," which is a delicious ham paste that makes an incredible sandwich. They also sell the sandwiches with the spread in them, but I recommend that you take home some of the paste or you'll regret not having done that. The last time I was here I had a torreja--it's essentially a French toast like bread drenched in a delicious syrup. Don't have more than one or you'll accidentally slip into a coma.

Desayuno Cubano! Que delicia!!!

I had seen a reel from a food blogger on Instagram regarding the BEST croquetas in South Florida and the person claimed that the croquetas de la casa from this bakery were better than Islas Canarias. I knew I had to go give them a try. So we had the perfect opportunity a few days ago. We were running errands and were starving so my daughter remembered that we wanted to try this place. I ordered a desayuno that consisted of scrambled eggs, ham and cheese plus a Cuban tostada con mantequilla y café con leche. Let me tell you, those eggs were one of the most delicious fluffy, most flavorful eggs I have had from any other bakery. My daughter ordered a croqueta preparada (of course) and it was done with a lot of love. You could tell. It was big and the bread was toasted to perfection. The croquetas....WOW! They are on a category of their own. The taste is unique. I still love Islas Canarias because it's just a different taste pero Cakeland's recipe is up there too! Que delicia!!! DELICIOUS. It was so good that I knew I had to take come home for my husband to try. I also couldn't leave without trying a pastelito de guayaba (my favorite). I was blown away. The guayaba actually tasted like pure guava like mermelada. It was one of the best pastelitos I've ever tasted and believe me, I have tasted A LOT! I will most definitely be back very soon. Maybe order a Cuban cake next time. I bet they are too die for!!!! Oh forgot to mention the wonderful employee who made my breakfast and helped me with my order. Her name is Iris and she was so sweet and attentive!!!

Today I bought 4 Cuban sandwiches, a box of croquetas, a box of assorted pastelitos, and a Cuban bread. I invited American friends for a Cuban brunch. They were looking forward to having an authentic Cuban sandwich. I was totally embarrassed!! The Cuban sandwich was more like a mushy ham and cheese. The pork was a mission to find. Everything was horrible!! I will never buy from them again! Frankly the worst. This bakery should not be allowed to sell this sandwich as a "Cuban" sandwich.

Croqueta Hair in food

BEWARE. I was enjoying my croqueta when I noticed a hair literally stuck inside of it. Not sure of the employees aren't wearing hair nets or what but huge health hazard.

We received all these things for 25 people for only $39! Great tasting! NOW That's a deal... Thank you! Recibimos todas estas cosas para 25 personas por solo $39! Y muy rico todo. Gracias!

a ham and cheese sandwich

I've been going here almost every weekend for coffee and the pizza pastries. But today service and the person who helped me was everywhere but where they needed to be. This is the food I waited for 20 mins. Not only was it not hot, the cheese wasn't melted and it was messy and not done correctly. I asked for someone who had been there longer but no one would and they gave me the new lady who didn't know much. This is not worth it at all. I'd recommend anywhere but here. The manager was nice but condescending in tone and honestly I never write reviews. But I just felt so pushed around. I don't even wanna eat the food I pay for.

He couldn't decide what he wanted but I was there for the carrot cake!! It's my favorite. So the lady working let him taste the chocolate peanut butter pie that he ended up getting. I also got a toffee cookie because hey, toffee and cookies are always a good idea. Hubby got a guava and white chocolate cookie. The cream cheese icing on this cake was soooo delicious. It wasn't just sweet it was also buttery. The cake was equally delicious. My husband liked his pie but didn't really like the cookie. My toffee cookie was amazing though. I think guava and white chocolate could be too sweet. Hey, he picked it. My carrot cake was so good, we ventured back out to go again. So yes twice in one trip. There was a guy there with a friend buying a cake because he remembered having it for his birthday party as a kid. Having carried that memory to adulthood let me know this was the real deal.

The atmosphere is beautiful, the bakery is spotless and impeccably kept, the coffee was excellent, and the pastries were quite good. The service, however, was the real highlight. Everyone was incredibly kind, warm, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they are happy to have you there, and that makes such a difference. One honest note: the matcha is simply not matcha. I would honestly prefer they didn't offer it rather than serve something that is presented as matcha but tastes nothing like it. If you're a true matcha lover, skip it. Other than that, a beautiful place, wonderful people, and a very pleasant experience.

Since we were just across the street we walked over to see what they had. Upon entering we noticed the glass cases full of premade sandwiches and pizzas. I tell you, there was a sandwich in the case that was bigger than my head. Everything in the cases looked fresh and delicious. Since we had just eaten lunch we only came to get desserts. The dessert section was plentiful and looked delicious. I chose a fruit tart, others chose a lemon meringue tart, a chocolate wafer dessert and a lemon eclair. Everyone said how much they liked their desserts, but I personally can say how delicious And fresh my fruit tart was. The fruits on top were all crisp, but very juicy. I've had this type of dessert on many occasions, but none compares to this one. When we're back in the area, this is a stop I will make every time.

It's been a while since I've gone to a restaurant and the service and food quality was so amazing that it literally made me stop in my tracks but here we are! I started with a hot mocha latte. I am a coffee snob and this drink was made to perfection! Absolutely delicious and I didn't want the cup to end! It was the perfect balance of smoothness and warmth and it was sweetened perfectly! For breakfast, I decided to get the mushroom toast and it was amazing! I was skeptical about the ricotta addition but it was spread on the toast like butter, very plentiful and tasty! That along with the other ingredients used made it taste exceptional! Perfect price point too! I was more than satisfied! Last but not least the service by host staff and waiters was top tier. One thing I'd note for first-time visitors is that it seems easiest to order at the register, especially when things get busy and there's a lot going on. Great coffee, great food, and a place we'll continue coming back to whenever we're in Miami.
