Ordered a baby shower cake and provided pics. Clarisse did such an awesome job!! It was perfect and the cake was absolutely delish! We chose the strawberry guava butter. Everyone raved! The delivery was prompt and done with such aloha! Professionals! They never disappoint :)

Back again for a custom dessert order but this time for a memorial service instead of a baby shower. My family member in charge of ordering the cake called multiple bakeries before asking me for a recommendation and of course--mine was Cake Works! She wanted a very specific cake that was reminiscent of our grandmother's favorite cake of all time-pineapple upside down cake. The challenge was that she wanted the pineapple to be crushed so as to make serving easier. Cake Works was the only bakery that was willing to do this for us and how special it was. The cake was delicious, moist, full of pineapple flavor and it was beautiful. I am so grateful to Cake Works for fulfilling our dream cake for the memorial. On top of all that, the service was just impeccable. They were so kind and helped me arrange the cake in my car when picking it up with my new baby in tow! We are so thankful for everything.

A Pup-tastic Day Made Even Sweeter! After a heart-melting visit to the Hawaiian Humane Society in Honolulu (seriously, we wanted to take all the pups home), we spotted the cutest little cake shop across the street--Cake Works--and decided to treat ourselves. Best. Decision. Ever. From the moment we walked in, the sweet smell of freshly baked goodies had us wagging our tails (well, almost). The cupcakes were perfectly frosted, the macarons were melt-in-your-mouth magic, and everything looked like it came straight out of a dessert dream. We picked up a few cupcakes that were almost too cute to eat--almost--and sat outside to enjoy our little cake break. It was the cherry on top of a paw-sitively perfect day. If you're in the area visiting furry friends or just craving something sweet, Cake Works is the spot. Can't wait to come back--next time, maybe with a pup of our own in tow!

Cake fit for a retirement! Top flavor - chocolate & guava. Bottom flavor - vanilla & Lilikoi (my fav!).

Cake Works is amazing! I love their work. We had them make our wedding almost 9 years ago, and we went with them again for another life event celebration, my husband's retirement from the Navy Reserves. Christine made the process so easy - from designing the cake, to selecting flavors. The final product was AMAZING. Everyone loved the cake at the party. We had to have Deadpool "get crushed" by the cake again, because it was fun at our wedding. Hands down, best custom cakes I've ever had. Definitely recommend them for a huge event. Thank you so much, Cake Works, for the excellent work.

Beautifully decorated 6" Queen Emma Cake! Moderately frosted with sweet buttercream. Would have loved more filling between the light layers and a flavorful, moist texture in the sponge but overall a nice treat!

One year later our frozen top slice of our wedding cake was still just as good as on our wedding day! Much love to Cake Works and their amazing staff!! 1000/100 recommend.

I've been to Cake Works several times to buy Mink macaroons over the years. We have also ordered birthday cakes here for friends but I haven't tried anything from Cake Works till recently. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a huge dessert fan which is why I haven't tried anything from here. The only reason I tried a slice of their cake was because Mink went out of her way to throw me a surprise birthday party and ordered me a sloth cake from here. The funniest part of this rather pricey cake is that literally 5 minutes before I arrived at the surprise party, a friend's son decided to play with it when his parents looked away for a minute. His parents freaked out and tried to repair the damage the best they could. He's only a little over 1 year old and kids will be kids. Mink and I couldn't stop laughing when we heard what happened. It was super cute and his little contribution to the party lol. After all the effort from everyone, I ate a slice of the cake. Since I'm not a cake expert, I couldn't tell you if it was good or not but it was special and I enjoyed it. Now I have a story about the cake and a new hilarious memory. Thank you to Mink for this very special sloth cake. Also, thank you to Cake Works for making this cake for my birthday and for consistently providing good customer service. We will definitely be back to order more cakes in the future for our friends.

We asked for a buttercream frosted cake with green leaves and a cute daikon topper. It came out perfect!

Cake Works is a fantastic bakery with quality products and great service! We wanted a small cake for a gender reveal and had about two weeks notice. Christine was fantastic and totally willing to work with us on pick up date and style. The cake turned out exactly as I imagined it, and the whole thing was delicious! Prices were on par with other bakeries we queried. The small cake easily served six people (multiple servings in some cases!) and we had about half the cake left over. The website and online client portal are easy to navigate and you can just use email if that works better for you too. The physical store is located in that awkward King Street H1 off ramp area. Try some of their other baked goods while you're there! The lilikoi bar was tasty! We'll definitely be coming back for our next big event!

Our single-tier strawberry guava cutting cake.
    Arlynne C.

For our wedding, we were looking for a single tier cutting cake and a wide array of yummy mini desserts for our dessert table. Cake Works delivered on all of these things and more, providing excellent customer service right from the get-go! From consultation to wedding day, the entire process felt seamless thanks to Cake Works's quick communication and attention to detail. It was also really easy to arrange for a sample tasting and add things to our order after the initial invoice, such as the birthday cupcake and candle we got to surprise one of our bridesmaids during the reception. In case you're wondering which mini desserts to get for your dessert table, we got the mini creme brulees, the raspberry lemon delice, the mini fruit tarts, the caramel macadamia nut chocolate tarts, and the mini cake shooters (strawberry guava--the same flavor as our cake). We enjoyed the mini desserts we did get to snag and assumed that our guests really enjoyed the rest because they were snatched right up! Thank you again, Cake Works!

A Beautiful Gluten Free cake that tasted as good or better than any non GF cake. The strawberry was a perfect blend of sweet and fruity. Plus as you can see the cake was just beautiful. The cakes are not cheap but i guarantee you it will be enjoyed by GF and non GF party goers!

Wow all my regular places I go yearly I have not reviewed???? Oh oh my....I've been coming to this place for several years off and on, but in recent have discovered their hot chocolate cake for christmas and its been our dessert table stable for 2 years, not to mention I love their ginger bread cookies. Order online or you can walk in, ample parking just a little funky to get to. They always have a person at the counter to service you if not somone comes up quick quickly. If not, you can browse their shelves of baked goods. We've tried their Hot chocolate cake, cupcakes, macaroons and bagged cookies, our favorite is their cake. Unfortunately, this past christmas the cake was not as moist as previous years, not sure what happened, but still was good, just not as moist as past. Their other products are good and their decorations on their cakes and other baked goods are so so pretty. This location is the former Ted's (thats giving my age) renovated to a bakery, so you can actually walk in and check out the goods, versus the original Teds it was only take out windows (which are still there too). It's outside is okay, needs a good deep clean and maybe fresh paint on the exterior but the inside is okay, just a neighborhood bakery.

Came across this place when searching on yelp. Once I got there, there was a line and I knew that was a good sign. I saw a sign saying they use 100% hokkaido flour from Japan (?)... so, although I was just looking for a matcha drink, I decided to try a couple pastries. I tried their salt & butter bread + a pastry that was filled with vanilla bean custard. IT WAS SO GOOD AND SO SOFT! I also got their banana matcha-- BOMB! I like how the banana foam isn't too much banana. It was a good balance. Service was quick! You just tell them what you want and everything came out quickly despite the long line I walked up to. However, the combination of world-class pastries and premium coffee makes the morning queue entirely worth it. Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant (5/5): A standout sweet treat to start the day. The pastry shell is perfectly flaky, buttery, and packed with rich melted chocolate and actual banana chunks in each bite. Black Sesame Kouign Amann (5/5): My absolute favorite of the morning. It features a perfectly caramelized, crispy exterior, while the earthy, nutty black sesame filling adds a massive depth of flavor that makes it really unique. Classic Kouign Amann (4/5): Extremely buttery and flaky, almost like a top-tier croissant with a sweet, caramelized crunch. It is a solid classic on its own, though it is easily overshadowed if you try the black sesame version alongside it. Kona Drip Coffee (4/5): Served extremely hot and fresh. This is a very strong, robust, and slightly acidic 100% Kona brew with a clean finish that acts as the perfect contrast to balance out the rich, sweet pastries. Logistics Tip: The line moves at a steady pace, but if you arrive during the peak morning rush, be prepared to wait anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. Seating is tough to come by, so planning to take your pastry box and coffee to go across the street or down to the beach is usually your best bet.

Every butcher I've interacted with has been patient and genuinely helpful, especially when explaining different cuts of beef. I'm not a fan of cleaning chicken myself, so I really appreciate that they'll remove skin and bones in-house (you still pay for it, and they'll ask if you want to keep the scraps). Another big plus is that the meat is fresh, unlike a few other places I've visited that only carry frozen options. Bakery: I can't come here without grabbing a sweet treat. They offer a mix of sweet and savory pastries, and honestly, I haven't had a bad one yet. I don't have a single favorite because they've all been consistently good. In my opinion, they're best enjoyed the same day. They also offer seasonal and holiday pre-orders. Sandwich of the Day: The premade sandwiches start at 11am and are made with about 90% house-made ingredients, served on their focaccia. As someone who loves a good sandwich, this did not disappoint. There are a few seats inside but I usually take everything to go so I can get my meat into the fridge.

I love Pipeline Bakeshops Malasadas! I have been to several Malasada places in Hawaii but | love…read morethere's the best for the following reasons: 1. the size of the malasadas: some restaurants tend to make their Malasadas smaller and when places do this it ruins the overall texture and quality of it. The bigger the malasadas size the more airy and fluffy and more bread layers that will be inside. 2. their malasadas always taste fresh and the same quality each time. 3. their malasadas don't feel oily or heavy at all Overall I would highly recommend this place for their Malasadas! I'm so happy to have found them. I can back multiple times on my trip. They also have other desserts too that I have yet to try. They have ice cream, cakes, and other desserts Also tip: if you are ordering a malasada also order a coffee or a matcha drink to go with it. The cinnamon sugar from the malasada just matches so perfectly with a drink this restaurant is also a nice place for walking! There's lot of stores and restaurants to walk around! I'm trying to remember but I think there was a book off that was not too far from here! If you either drive or maybe walk. Service: staff was super helpful and friendly while I was there. I was having an issue with my online order because my phone was being glitchy and they were so nice in helping :) Also wanted to note their branding is so cute!! They even sell merch items too

However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas. FOOD - 4 stars... the malasadas were good, but that ube dessert was next level AMBIANCE - 4 stars...really a takeout operation with a lot of temptations SERVICE - 4 stars...very calm and orderly TOTAL - 4 stars...yet another spot for sweet Hawaiian decadence RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? I'm happy to see a local business thriving but I hope they can improve their customer flow. The baked goods looked as inviting as always but they seemed a day-old or something. The butter horn was hard and not flaky as I've come to expect and the chocolate of the Boston Creme donut wasn't creamy. They may wish to consider: 1, Clearly delineating the line for the restaurant from the bakery. It was super busy for both so there was a lot of confusion. 2. Perhaps placing the number machine for the bakery closer to the door? Tourists aren't familiar with the system so it leads to some unnecessary dissatisfaction. 3. The staff had to leave the counter to get coffee - hot or iced. The condiments for the coffee were on the showcase so people had to be in everyone's way to get their sugar and cream. In fact, if you were standing near the door you had to go through people waiting in line back into the establishment to get those items. But, with all this, the two ladies at the counter were remarkably composed and helpful.
