My favorite flavor is the sweet cream, but they are all yummy. I have ordered custom pops for a party in the past and they matched my colors very well, also responded to my email promptly and my order was ready when promised. I've ordered 2 dozen cake pops: (15) elephant design (10) sparkles and (5) non pareils for my friend baby shower that I was planning .Heather & I was communicating via email which I think is great because I wouldn't have the time to talk over the phone . Each design has different flavors: confetti , chocolates, and cookies & cream! Price reflects on the design of your cake pops $2 for non pareils , about 2.25-2.50 (I forgot) for sparkles and the elephant designs were about 3.50. I did a mix and match to help the budget and everything turned out great! The cakes were super moist !! The elephant nose were made of banana candies and the tiny feets were made of tic tacs. I thought it was really creative though because I didn't expect the candies to be in there once I bite into them though. Nonetheless, it was still delicious . When I picked up the cake pops, they were all individually wrapped with a ribbon tied at the end which looked so cute. They're closed on Sunday's, so I had to pick it up a day early.. Which was fine with me. Thank you Heather!! I ordered pink Cake Pops with a pretty white swirl for a friend's baby shower, and everyone LOVED THEM. Unfortunately, I did not get to try one, but the guests loved them, and the Mom-to-be did as well (most important!). They were very pretty, and I had them at each place setting at the restaurant, so everyone saw them when they sat down and it also added a little decoration to the table. I honestly could not put into words how cute this shop was, and how amazing the cake pops we tried were. We live in the area and stop by often but never catch the shop when it's open. Today we did, and I understand why it's never worked before- I would go bankrupt if this store was open more often. We tried the chocolate, vanilla, confetti and pumpkin cake pops and every one was more delicious than the next. I live in the Lower Mills area and love supporting the local businesses. My last visit here was very disappointing, so I will never go back. I was a regular customer and have done a large special order for a work event. A couple of positives for me... They have three flavors I really like. The girl who works at the front is very nice and who I mostly dealt with. Now what I don't like about this place... the customer service, except for the sweet girl. They could be very hard to reach during their limited business hours. Sometimes, they open late or close early. Furthermore, they don't always have the same cake pops available all the time. They change by season or for whatever excuse. What made me rate this place two stars... never have I been told by a manager / owner of a business "not now" after asking if I can ask them a question. The owner was standing there doing something, but I was the only person in the store. Can she not multitask? I just wanted to know when a specific flavor was going to be available again since I knew the girl wouldn't know. I asked the girl afterwards if she knew. She didn't, so what did she do? She asked the owner right there, the owner responded, the girl told me the answer. Bizarre! I didn't take the owner's behavior personally because shortly after (I think she thought I had left), I overheard her talking about problems with other customers and what she didn't like about them, etc... Visited the store and tried about 6 different types for a wedding shower. To be honest, they were way too sweet for me..and I really think they are for young children not adults. Mixing cake and frosting and then dipping it into even more chocolate makes for a incredible sweet desert and I decided against ordering them. I cannot say enough good things about Cake Pops Boston. First, the shop itself is a delight. It reminds me of a magical candy shop one might read about in a book. Vintage and kitschy confections abound yet it is well curated and uncrowded. It is a perfect little jewel of a store. Second, the cake pops are superb. Moist on the inside, lots of flavors to choose from, and the head baker is so creative with the everyday pops as well as special holiday pops. Third (and the real reason I am writing this review), I picked up an order of delicious custom cake pops for my son's birthday. He loves Adventure Time and Cake Pops Boston was able to translate the pics of the (admittedly weird) cartoons into awesome cake pops. Very much worth the trip to Lower Mills (and while you are there, check out the gorgeous architecture of the Walter Baker Chocolate Factory, Milton Landing/Neponset Riverwalk, other unique (independent) shops, and great restaurants). I ordered approximately 45 elephant cake pops in different flavors. All communications were via email. When we asked our party guests if they liked the cake pops they all enthusiastically affirmed that they did. They were fresh and flavorful without being too sweet. There were mixed reviews on whether they actually looked like elephants. The trunks were a bit short and the ears did not have a typical elephant shape. I went into the shop to place an order IN PERSON and try them out for the first time. I have to say the shop is adorable and the pops were tasty, although I would never recommend this shop for a custom order. I was told that the owner ONLY takes orders by email, which would be fine in other circumstances but when there are flavors that change seasonally, many options for fillings, frostings, cake flavors and wrapping it is much easier to talk to someone and work out the details over the phone or in person. I had about 5 email exchanges with Heather(the owner) and sent her a picture(as per her request) of what I wanted the 20 cake pops to look like to fit my daughters birthday party theme(brown & white cocker spaniels) and thought we were all set. I ordered 10 confetti and 10 chocolate all with the same puppy design...pretty simple right? When I went into to pick them up they were all chocolate and they looked like black and white dalmation puppies. I asked to speak to the owner and they said she doesn't take phone calls from customers. I finally convinced the retail staff to call her and here is the response I got from the OWNER. I asked her where the misunderstanding was and she said she didn't see the attached picture to the email(even though she asked me to send her a picture). Ok, I said well why the wrong flavor? She said she thought I was flexible. OK, well I am sorry this order is not at all what I wanted. Notice, I am the one apologizing. Heather never apologized or offered a discount on the order. The owner's response was completely unprofessional. " I am an overnight nurse and I got out of bed to make these for you!" and she hung up on me. Enough said. My suggestion to any business owner is don't complain how much you work to your customers and custom orders require additional forms of communication besides email. read more

ADORABLE AND SO DELICIOUS!!!! I ordered a few dozen cake pops in a bucket for a party last Christmas Eve. I remember all the kids jaws dropping when I walked in with these Christmas pops adorably decorated as Santas and Elves. The adults mostly looked at them saying they were "too beautiful to eat", but the ones that did try them raved about how delicious they were. I also recently ordered a bucket of "birthday pops" a day before a 4 year old party. I told Heather that the theme of the toddler party was "Angry Birds". Heather could not have been more ACCOMMODATING getting the order to me that very night; the pops were absolutely ADORABLE and looked exactly like the characters. Cake Pops Boston did such a fantastic job on cake pops for a "Jurassic Park" themed birthday party. I had a tough time finding a company that would make dinosaur pops. I contacted CPB after seeing some Dinosaur Train dino pops they made and asked if they could make more. They were so thoughtful and suggested I needed a more "mature" looking dinosaur for a Jurassic Park themed party. Too bad.... The cake pops are very cute. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience with customer service. I am a returning customer, I had ordered about 100 pops for a work Xmas party. This time, I was ordering for my nephews bday party. I work in Boston and scheduled the delivery at my office. Unfortunately, I got sick and needed to change the delivery location (already paid for delivery), or make another plan for me to get them. I called the 'business' line from 8am-11:30am, leaving multiple vms... while simultaneously sending emails. No answer. About 30min prior to my delivery, I received an email saying they called their delivery guy back- I would still be charged and now would have to pick them up south of Boston during rush hour... and it was 'not their fault'. I had not accused them of anything, had only asked for a simple call to make a plan. Had they called, we could have come to a MUCH better plan. Instead I was sent shockingly rude emails, and directed to sit in 3.5hrs of traffic. Since I had paid $70 for 18 cake pops (yes- that much), I went and got them. I walked up to the door and a woman handed me a small box and said 'keep cool and dry' and shut the door and walked away. No 'thank you' or 'sorry for not calling and making things a million times easier'. I am still speachless at how a returning customer was treated, for no reason at all. In the future, I will be finding another location- as there are many out there. However, if you do not care about customer service, the pops are cute. read more
