Jenny and her team did a fantastic job creating the perfect cake balls for our wedding! So much that we are ordering more for our after wedding party! We had an out of state wedding and the balls were the perfect dessert choice for travel and staying fresh! Thank you for making our wedding creative and yummy! Alicia and Chris

I couldn't sleep last night so of course I decided to do some research on some local bakeries in…read moreour area. I am always down for something sweet! I have driven by this shop a million times but never got the chance to make it in. After checking out all their photos and goodies off their website, making my way in today was a must. The shop is very small and intimate. You are immediately greeted by all the goodies as soon as you walk in. Colorful macarons, the cutest cheesecakes and beautifully displayed scones and muffins. The display case is nice and bright, allowing you to be able to see the details and coloring of each macaron. The pretty piping on the cheesecake. The fun layers of the cakes. It was hard not to want one of each thing out of the case. It was our first visit for my daughter and I. As a new customer, you're trying to absorb everything about this store. You want to look at all your options! The gal that initially was going to help us pretty much just stood there and stared at us. Didn't really talk to us. Didn't ask if we had any questions. She had the most unpleasant look on her face. It honestly made me feel so unwanted and uncomfortable to be at the shop. I offered to let another customer go ahead of us so she wasn't just standing there waiting for us to order something. The second customer also needed some time. Finally a gentleman came in and she got him some coffee started. Another gal was working and she helped us. At that point, I was so turned off about getting anything but we were already there so we decided to grab a few things. My daughter and I decided to share a 6 pack of macarons. We snagged lemon, birthday cake, coffee, chocolate, creme brulee and cookies and cream as our flavor choices. She also got a red velvet cheesecake for us to share after dinner tonight. On our ride home, we broke that box of macarons open and had to try them all. The lemon was sweet and tangy, I love the lemon custard in the middle. Birthday cake reminds me of a pink frosted animal cookie. The chocolate was my favorite! Very chocolate forward and sweet. Coffee reminded me of a vanilla latte in cookie form. Cookies and cream was much like cookies and cream ice cream. More cream forward and less chocolate cookie. Creme brulee had sugar toasted on top which created a slight bitterness to the cookie but it was balanced with how sweet the cookie was. All 6 macarons were fabulous! I look forward to having the red velvet cheesecake after dinner tonight. I like that there are so many gluten free options at this bakery. I adore how petite and prettily decorated the pastries were. I appreciate that this joint is local as I love supporting local businesses. But, first impressions are so huge for me and my first impression of their customer service wasn't there for me. You can push out great products all you want but how you make someone feel during their purchase can make or break your business. As fantastic as my macarons were, all I can think about was how uncomfortable I was when I was just being stared at. Macarons and cheesecake can be purchased at a few joints in our valley. I'm happy I got to enjoy some goodies with my daughter but I'm going to go support another local business that will actually make me feel like a valued customer and not a bother.

I have to say that Pastry Perfection is the number one place in Boise to go get your birthday cake…read moreespecially if you like frosting, which I do! My wife ordered a birthday cake for me last week. She asked them to cover the entire cake with flowers made from frosting, no writing, no other decorations, just entirely covered with frosting flowers. Wow - it did not disappoint! I have to say that may be the best cake I've ever had in my 62 years of celebrating birthdays thank you for making a very special!

Stopped in today to grab an apple fritter for my husband. I was quite shocked at how small the…read moreapple fritters were. I don't remember them being so small. I have bought a handful of donuts, bagels and donuts from this joint and don't recall them being that size. Asked the gal who helped me if it was normal for them to be so small. She replied with "it depends on the day". So, basically some days you're getting your money's worth and some days you're getting screwed. Pretty sad. Desperate of how small they were, my husband enjoyed the two fritters I got him. I had to get two since they were so tiny. Other local joints are selling fritters the size of their two, even bigger. Granted it's double in cost but I'm more than happy to pay that much for a good size fritter. I know I'm getting a lot of bang for my buck. With so many local bakeries and food trucks that are selling donuts, the last thing you want to do is shrink your products on your locals who have been supporting your local business.

The absolute worst service we have ever had…read more.. 1 week before our wedding, we reach out to ensure everything is still a go and that there are no issues. Well, low and behold we get an email back, an automated message at that, stating that they were no longer in business and that they apologized. 1 week!!! 1 week before our wedding WE had to reach out to them in order to find this out. Its now coming up on a week AFTER our wedding and we are still without our refund and still ZERO communication whatsoever. Do not, under any circumstance, use this company if they come back. Walking in and seeing all the cupcakes and desserts…read moredisplayed is genuinely pleasing -- it's the kind of place that makes you excited to try something sweet. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't live up to the presentation for me. I tried the carrot cake cupcake and was expecting a classic cream cheese frosting, but what I got tasted more like a very sweet white frosting. If there was cream cheese in it, I couldn't really tell. The cake itself also had a slightly soapy/perfumey flavor, almost like the batter picked up fragrance from a recently cleaned counter. I'm very sensitive to that taste and it really threw me off. I also tried the Boston Cream Pie cupcake. There was barely any Bavarian cream filling inside, which was disappointing since that's the main reason to order that flavor. The cupcake was also very crumbly, making it difficult to hold and eat. Overall, the shop is cute and the display is beautiful, but the flavors I tried didn't quite deliver. I might give it another try someday in case I just picked the wrong flavors.
