Delicious food, freshly prepared and flavorful, but the Loud TV is a big turn off. I will not be eating there again.

I ordered their "Athens Bowl" through DoorDash, which features baked cauliflower and baked eggplant, on top of a mishmash of various carbs (lentils, chickpeas, white rice, and white macaroni), served with some crispy onions, tomato sauce, and Dakka dressing (a tangy, vinegary, lemony sauce). The order was ready for pick-up when I requested (you have to call them since they don't have a store front) - no issues there. The cauliflower and eggplant were certainly great, but the rest of the bowl is pretty uninspired and lacklustre. It's basically just mixed heavy carbs, made slightly more interesting by the tomato sauce. The hot sauce that's included is very vinegary and not all that complex. Maybe I'll try some of their non-bowl items. As experienced, I wouldn't order the bowl again, but I like their concept and their varied menu.

They add their signature twist, loaded with plant-based proteins and Mediterranean flavours. We tried the Cairo bowl which was a delicious mix of white rice, vermicelli, macaroni, green lentils, fried onions with a tomato sauce on the side. The Hummus and Babaganoush were both delicious. We had it delivered via Door Dash and was impressed with the presentation (pictured). Will be ordering again! Already looking forward to it.

Having been to the Middle East and Mediterranean a few times, I'm obsessed with authentic foods…read morefrom that region. Just the best. I stopped in Jasmine Kitchen fresh off an airplane and WOW. First it was around 3pm, which is dead time for most restaurants. The two men could not have been nicer and my food was fresh and amazing in a clean and cool environment. Even the bathrooms were clean and nice (which is a huge element to the overall experience). Service was great too, even with two men. I order a kofta kebab plate which came with saffron rice and great pita and a small salad and a garlic sauce that would be amazing on a leather boot. I also had the walnut baklava which was about the best I've ever had. The flavors were all spot on - juicy and tender and wonderful - every bite of the whole meal. In fact I was tempted to get the whole thing again. But decided to wait until the VERY next time I'm in town.

This place looks like typical updated dive spot but is very clean inside. I got the Beef and Lamb…read moreGyro Plate which comes with jasmine rice, hummus, a small salad, pita bread, and sauce. The service was super quick and the flavor and quality of ingredients are excellent. The price is reasonable at $16.99 and the portion is generous. They ask if you want to dine in or take out but they are both served in a to-go container with the only difference being you either get a bag or a tray. :) One improvement suggestion would be to provide sriracha hot sauce as many other similar businesses do. Overall I recommend this place for an affordable, delicious, quick meal with no frills.

Oh man, i've been to Luca so many times and this is the first time i'm giving them a subpar review…read more All other times have been a solid 5 stars. I think the main reason is because when i found them to be amazing, the boss was always there. This time, he wasn't and there was only a female staff working. We proceeded to order our two favorites: hawawshi and koshari. We haven't been here in a couple of weeks and had a sudden craving. Boy, we were deeply disappointed. The Hawawshi, usually pan fried to perfection - i.e. crispy pita with tender meat inside - was very hard to eat. When i opened the pita up, the meat was all burnt inside. I think they either overcooked it or they cooked it already but then reheated. With the pita overcooked, it became extremely hard and i had to rip it with my teeth. The koshari was also somewhat burnt and very dried up. The sauce they provided made it a little bit better since it gave the food a bit of much needed moisture. Had this been my first time eating at Luca, i never would have re-visited so many times. I will not eat there again if the boss isn't there to establish quality control.

Ordered the plain Koshari again. The guy asked if it was "for here" or "to go". I said it was "for…read morehere" so he served it to me a round bowl shaped container whereas last time it was given to me in a rectangular shaped take out container that could close up if I had leftovers and wanted to take it home. He did ask me though if I wanted a lid for my round container. I declined as I was quite hungry and had a feeling I was going to finish the entire dish...which I did indeed end up doing. The tomato sauce was automatically poured onto the food this time, and whereas last time I was given two small containers with two different sauces, one of them being spicy...this time, the guy asked if I'd like spicy or non spicy. I said non spicy so I was only given one sauce this time, which was the tangy sauce. Food was just as good as last time. I saw something on the menu that said "Egyptian Specials". I might take a closer look at that next time. As far as I know, Koshari is the national dish of Egypt but if there's another typically Egyptian dish that I can try, I am always up for trying new things! Wish there more options like this around town. Egyptian food is really not a common type of cuisine to come across around here, so this place is a real gem!
