Interesting all-vegan Egyptian menu; however, the bowl I got was fairly ordinary and uninspired, but satisfying enough.
I ordered their "Athens Bowl" through DoorDash, which features baked cauliflower and baked eggplant, on top of a mishmash of various carbs (lentils, chickpeas, white rice, and white macaroni), served with some crispy onions, tomato sauce, and Dakka dressing (a tangy, vinegary, lemony sauce). The order was ready for pick-up when I requested (you have to call them since they don't have a store front) - no issues there.
The cauliflower and eggplant were certainly great, but the rest of the bowl is pretty uninspired and lacklustre. It's basically just mixed heavy carbs, made slightly more interesting by the tomato sauce. The hot sauce that's included is very vinegary and not all that complex.
Maybe I'll try some of their non-bowl items. As experienced, I wouldn't order the bowl again, but I like their concept and their varied menu. read more
