I really wanted to like this place since it was so close to our hotel. The atmosphere was everything you'd want in Paris, but unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our server was not welcoming and made us feel like he didn't want to serve us. It was just my husband and me, and it wasn't busy that morning. We ordered at the same time, but only my food was brought out. My husband never received anything he ordered. When another waiter brought our bill, we noticed we were still charged for his items. When we mentioned it, our server abruptly said he would bring them and quickly walked away. Ambiance is a fairytale setting and worth it just for that. Waiter, who spoke 5 different languages, was great and helpful. Food was pretty good with a traditional Paris menu of food and drinks. Prices were a little high, but what you would expect in such a location. read more

I came here simply for midday-early evening cocktails with friends. This place was suggested by a local whom had not before visited the place either. I strayed away from the " signature cocktails " section over to the " cocktails " section and so did my girlfriend--apparently that wasn't a wise decision because those cocktails, The Swimming Pool and the other I forget (sorry) were weak af!!! In fact, they were so bad that my girlfriend sent hers back in pursuit of more alcohol which they accommodated but it only made the taste worst and I was so unimpressed with my drink that I finished it and almost ordered one of the Signature drinks just to see if they actually make them better...Needless to say, i decided on a nice tall beer instead. We didn't try the food but we lingered here for awhile over good conversation and good conversation aided by a covered heated outdoor terrasse which kept us perfectly dry on an otherwise cold wet day. The atmosphere here is warm and inviting and the wait staff is pretty friendly and honestly a bit more attentive than some other Parisian places that I've stopped in for drinks. The interior is also rather nice upstairs and downstairs though everyone seems to choose the outdoor terrasse as is the way in Parisian life. I'd sit on their terrasse again over a beer or two and maybe try some frites. read more

Came in here in a cold Sunday in paris. I bypassed a few restaurants as this one seemed busy and offered a brunch. What a mistake - my poached eggs on toast were cold and hard - the avocado toast was hard - and the frites were cold and inedible. I felt like the brunch was premade and sitting out somewhere. The service was spotty - with my waiter being surly and unhelpful. Yes ambiance was nice on busy market street Rue Montorgueil - and busy inside. Nice bar to meet friends and grab some drinks. The interior and exterior are equally beautiful and offer a low key and warm ambiance. We opted for the heated outdoor patio. The wine and beer are reasonably priced and I was content with a 28 cl Vin du moment (rouge). Prior to, I ordered what I hoped to be a cocktail. In short, I will definitely not recommend the cocktails. Ordered the Zhomby which is advertised as a rhum blanc et jus d'orange, citron etc etc. It tasted like a large glass of OJ-yuck. My wife and I came here for dinner. It was raining this night, but we were greeted and shown our seats. Our server was very cool and even tried to speak English to us. He offered us English menus. ------------------------------------ I went with the Burger Trio. I wanted to get something else, but I really wanted to check out their slider style burgers. I was not disappointed! They tasted very good!!! the lighting was dim and very intimate. The service was great!!!! Food was great!!! Quaint little cafe located in a busy shopping area. Staff was very attentive and personable. We only came here for a quick snack but loved our meal. We had the roasted Camembert and cheese fries. The Camembert was paired with French bread - the cheese was warmed just enough. The cheese fries were well done as well. The ambience in the cafe was on the upper scale side, very sleek. There was plenty of outdoor seating with heaters as well. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

Amazing brunch that was both delicious as it was humongous. I had the coulard/meat (mini burgers, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage...) version and my avec ate the fresh one (avocado tartar, salmon, mini omelettes...). Above these were the starter coffee & orange juice with croissants and the dessert plate of fresh berries, pineapple and kiwi). Located in Rue Montorgueil, which is a quaint neighborhood in Paris. There were so many cafe terraces to choose from to sit and people watch on a lovely Sunday afternoon. I chose Cafe Montorgueil based on the fact the seating faced outward and the way the food was displayed. They had a nice presentation in the way they brought out simple fries and sandwiches which caught my attention. The service, food, etc... was pretty average. However, still satisfying. I ordered the 3 sliders (salmon, chicken, and I can't remember what the last one was). It was a decent lunch to enjoy on a very nice day to watch the hustle and bustle in the area. The French are known for being big smokers, but, there was only one smoker on the terrace. Perhaps I lucked out, but during my stay in Paris, I actually have run into more smokers in America, so I was surprised that it wasn't an issue in an area that attracts so many locals. read more

A delightful place to sit and have a meal with any size group. It was just the two of us, but we looked around and saw groups of all sizes enjoying food and drinks at the location. We stuck with wine and some plates of cheese and charcuterie, and, just like everywhere we ate in Paris, loved it. Went here for dinner on my birthday, as we were not sure which part of the city we would end up in, so did not book anything, and we found most places very busy and unable to accommodate us. We were initially happy, the service okay considering they were busy, and the food was above average. Alarm bells began to ring when the waiter refused to clean the shells from our Snails, which my partner likes to collect, and this has always been no problem in the past. Then my partner mentioned to them that it was my birthday, hoping they might do something a little extra, and at the end they brought over 2 shots of cheap vodka (I think it was Vodka anyway ..!) On our way out, she said she was disappointed as the waiter mentioned they woiod bring over a cake at the end, and the manager literally said: 'He brought you two free drinks, cake is your problem not ours." And when she said that he had a poor attitude and we would never go back and not recommend his restaurant, he said: "That's fine, bye." They completely ruined the meal for us and were totally nonchalant, so we will never go back, and I recommend avoiding this place, especially if you like good service. Also PSA: do not get the cafe viennois, because it looks like a tourist abomination, where native the native French will smirk at you. My daughter declared her hamburger with egg and bacon to be the best burger she had ever had. My cheddar covered fries were pretty amazing, too. We sat outside with the smokers because, well, it's Paris and it is what you do. Great people watching on this famous foodie street. Great service by cute boys, too. read more
