The coffee is good. Nice lighting. Pain in the butt to find inexpensive parking. I got the nutella latte (splurge), but I couldn't taste the "nutella" aspect. It's more subtle. This is one of those unassuming coffee houses I will go out of my way to return to. It's a hidden gem. Great cakes and great coffee! Interesting menu and quick service. I've been coming back for their "Kick in the face" specialty brew: cold brew plus a shot of expresso. It has a nice clean taste. Maybe it's just the perfect drink after a long walk in hot weather. Whatever it is, it's my feel good drink now. For your sweet tooth, you have to try their mini coconut cake and lemon bar. The coconut cake is blissfully light and airy. The lemon bar has just the right balance of tart and sweet. Although the crust was a little too thick for me. Tables are always clean. While there aren't comfy couches, it's just not what I need. Amazing iced Cuban Latte. I live down the street from this coffee shop. Great place to work, meet friends or grab a coffee while you walk around Seattle Center, Elliot Bay and Queen Anne. It's a no fluff coffee shop with just good coffee and I don't think you can ask for much more. They also have pastries and breakfast sandwiches, I haven't tried but other reviewers mentioned they're quite good. They're open during coronavirus, highly recommend you support them. Watched the employees wash their hands between orders and processing my credit card. Will be back! read more

Very cool people in a relaxed space. We came here before a Seattle Rep play. Perfect sugar free mocha and a nice latte.

Came here for both breakfast and dessert with the wife. We really liked the coconut cake they gave us. It was really rich and wasn't overly sweetened. The hot chocolate with that made for a great end to the night. Breakfast was also good. We decided to go with a muffin and a scone. It was perfect with a cup of coffee. The price on both trips was very reasonable and would be back if we were here longer. read more

Ran into this place Friday evening after not being able to get into a play (bummer!) and had already paid for parking so I figured I'd stroll around until I found something. Happy to see that they were open until 9p. They have a wide selection of desserts in their pastry case along with other food items that I observed on their menu board. My boyfriend ordered a green tea latte and I ordered a london fog with almond milk. We also shared a coconut cake and lemon tart. Our drinks were alright, almond milk tasted a little funny and the green tea had too much matcha powder. Desserts were wonderful and we even took leftovers home. I've been drinking a lot of coffee lately. Normally, I make it at home but in the last few days, I guess you could say that I've gone a bit... well... overboard in my consumption of espresso drinks, ie: All City 2/17: "I'll have a short Americano. Do you have soy?" Aster 2/16: "Yeah, can I get a tall Americano. Can you add some soy?" Monorail Espresso 2/14: "Tall Americano with soy... yes, thank you!" Yes, I decided to mix things up a bit yesterday afternoon and GET ALL CRAZY at Caffe Zingaro. How did I do this, you ask? Well, I burst through the door, wearing a Freddy Krueger mask and some of those crazy knife gloves and demanded all the pastries and the petty cash from the register. ... Okay, so maybe that's not quite how it went down. Halloween isn't for another 8 months, so at least I'm giving everyone fair warning. About the costume. I will never rob anyone. EVER. Of Note: Once, at the tender age of 5 I thought about stealing an eraser from a store and before we left, I started crying, telling my mother than I was sorry because I wanted to steal something, but I didn't, but that I should probably spend some time in my room when I got home so I could think about what I did... or didn't do. Yeah, I was that kid. But I digress... Back to the review: Instead, I ordered a Chai. I know... insane, right? And it was very good. And for all you purists, they make their own chai in-house AND they put a pretty leaf on top of it in cinnamon... and you thought that they could only do this with espresso. Well, think again! On a more serious note, they have some fabulous looking baked goods. Turnovers, croissants, muffins, and scones. The muffin topped with pumpkin seeds is still fresh in my mind... and something tells me that more of those little buggers will be fresh in the case when I swing by next time. Love it. It's not often you have a small town experiences in the city. And by that I mean that an employee has time in their day to make polite small talk, offer great personable service, and of course a tasty well-made product. I hadn't ever been to Cafe Zingaro but it was perfectly located for a work meeting. Better yet, there was nearby street parking for cheap, free wifi, and they have pastries if you're feeling peckish. As I went to make my order Erin was there whipping up drinks for other customers. When it was my turn to order she smiled, helped me decide on a tea for an iced tea, shared the free wifi password and even answered a question I had about the baked goods. (They're not made in house but they're sourced from different, awesome local bakeries.) Great! It's tough to fully describe our interaction but it was kind, warm, and definitely honest. She was having a great time serving people and making drinks, and it really showed through in her interactions with me and the people before me in line. I was there about an hour and as I was headed out the door I made sure to ask for her name because she was someone so memorable that I didn't want to leave without thanking her and knowing who she was. Just happened upon this place while waiting to have brunch somewhere else. This cafe is very convenient if you're in the neighborhood. There's dedicated parking right next to the cafe as well. It's very open with lots of Windows and lots of space. They have a couple cushy chairs too. Looks like they feature local artists' work if you're into that. Just ordered a couple lattes. But if you were in a hurry they also have sandwiches to go and a variety of pastries. Not to mention they also have quite a large variety of loose leaf teas to choose from. read more

One of my full-time teaching assignments is an online course, so I find myself needing to be at my computer for long periods at a time. While working at home might seem preferable, my tendency to procrastinate pushed me out of the condo and into a coffeehouse. Still shuddering after my last experience with El Diablo, I decided to walk over to Caffe Zingaro. Caffe Zingaro has all the draw-ins of a good coffee shop: tables in several sizes to accommodate groups of 1-6, large windows with barstools, Lighthouse coffee, an array of comestibles (my new word for the year), and wireless capability. After ordering my mocha, I looked for an empty table near an outlet. Finding none, I grabbed a table next to a wall and silently thanked myself for charging my laptop battery earlier in the day. An unattended laptop sat at a table next to mine, plugged into the only outlet on that wall. I sat down, began working and heard a beverage called. The wrong beverage. But that's ok, as the barista taking my order corrected the employee making the espresso, and the beverage I ordered was up in no time. I walked over to the counter to retrieve my paper cupful of caffeine-free goodness. When consuming coffee in paper cups, I prefer lids to keep my beverage warm. I saw the lids to the left of the pick-up counter, took a step to my left, and whammo! Almost fell down the incline directly between the left of the pick-up area. Luckily I caught my balance, but I couldn't help but think placing the lids closer to this counter might prevent klutzes like yours truly from tripping over ourselves. My decaf mocha, for the record, was great. After working for a while, I noticed the unattended computer belonged to one of the baristas. He was using it in between customer rushes to check email or web surf. Whatever. I sure coulda used that outlet, though. I enjoyed the room temperature, as sometimes I tend to freeze in coffee shops, especially when I sit near windows on rainy days like today. But then one of the employees got warm and opened up the door. Let me put that sweatshirt back on, then. The Employee Computer Table began filling with a couple employees arriving for their next shift. It got a little loud with their chatter, but this is a coffee shop. I'm actually glad one of the baristas was getting relieved, as it seemed he was a bit under the weather. He had been sniffling. Not the quick sniffles, but the longer, drawn-out, I'm-going-to-suck-all-the-mucous-out-of-my-throat-type sniffles. Two fresh employees officially replaced the previous Computer-Toting dudes around 1:00pm. One of the 1:00 fresh employees kept returning to the Employee Computer Table, the computer no longer there but in its place was a guy who appeared to be the employee's friend. I felt a little sorry for the second 1:00 fresh employee, as he seemed to be doing more work than the one visiting with her friend. Alas, this story comes to an end as my low battery led me to depart Caffe Zingaro. I packed up and headed out, satisfied with my coffee but a little less than satisfied with the ambiance. read more

Sunday should never start w/o coffee. Really, no day should, but especially Sunday. Popped in here to meet up with Jon before Peso's (which turned into elsewhere) and Shakespeare in the park. Service was VERY slow. Apparently the beans are being grown in the back and must be harvested before one gets coffee. I can't complain *too* much though, because I did get my breve a full 8 1/2 minutes before Delilah got her large drip coffee. 'Cause they brew it one drip at a time.....right. The breve was worth the wait, but this would never be my regular "on my way to-" coffee place.. This is more a "let's just sit and chat and sit and chat and sit while we wait for coffee then sit and chat and sip and chat" kind of place. Mmmm. Finding a awesome coffee shop in a city fulllll of "coffee shops" is finding a diamond in the rough. Anyone can brew coffee and put out tables and chairs with free wifi, it takes a little bit of effort to create a peaceful environment. One coffee shop yells out drink orders and owners of drinks. A-noy-ying. Another coffee shop is amazing for people watching, but you hear theee worst conversations without headphones. One doesn't have enough seating, one is plain too loud. One has snobby bartistas...okay I'll stop before I become the princess and the coffee bean. My work requires random hours, lots of computer work and myself around the city looking for wifi. In Queen Anne I found Caffee Zinagro, that was the pure opposite of the things listed above. It was blissfully quiet. I got so much work done being able to concentrate. Even the music was low. The barista was craazy nice. Like, can I take you to coffee nice. Almost everyone that walked in she greeted by name. Pure gold. I had delicious strawberry green tea and a treat and sat there enjoying the quiet. Next time I'm trying the coffee! So thankful to found a chill spot to work. A coffee shop where I can concentrate? I came here yesterday and was appalled by the most unfriendly barista I've ever met. I'm sorry beautiful brown-haired, tattooed and pierced woman, but being rude to customers is not what I consider cool. She gave me an annoyed hello, didn't smile, stink eyed me, and slammed the tip jar in front of me before I paid, assuming I just wouldn't tip on my own. Just the worst! The taste of the (extremely watered down) chai I got was bad enough without the bad service. read more

This place was alright. The location was right, which was nice. The coffee shop itself was cute, which was also very nice. And now for the downsides - the barista was a super surly (and swearing like a freaking sailor, when there were children within 10 feet of her), the coffee that we were served was actually cold - ~80 Degrees, and a little bitter. So all in all, this place was a miss. I might be back the next time I'm near the Seattle Center (primarily because I despise Starbucks) and to give this place another go. We'll see. I've lived around the corner from Caffe Zingaro for years now and I adore it. The first and foremost reason is the people that work there. James and the other barista (haven't caught her name yet) genuinely care about their customers and you can tell. They remember names, orders and always take the time to go above and beyond for their customers. I also love their fun flavored lattes. When I want a treat, I always order one of their seasonal drinks. My favorite is the maple spice--they take the time to use real maple syrup and blend in spices made to order. read more

There was horse dung across the street on the sidewalk in front of the market. That was pretty interesting. Thank gawd for those large windows facing the street or I would have missed out on all the excitement. People would stop at the pile, observe (stare, if you will) and move on. Quite entertaining, actually. I digress. My drip took forever to get to me. At first, I thought well they must brew it drip by drip. Turns out, they just forgot about me...and my order. They've been a lifesaver during the covid shutdown and have stayed diligent about social spacing and cleaning protocol. Lighthouse Roasters makes the best coffee beans in town, and that's what they use at Zingaro. If you love tea, they probably have even more beverage options for you. The customers seem to be many creative workaholics, with and without laptops, that pleasure in coffee, tea and/or desserts. There are many things on the menu...... Mocha Bianca (White Chocolate Mocha) with foam or the Chai Latte are unrivalled evening choices. The desserts are mighty scrumptious too. Traditional favorites can be found with an exotic spin, such as mini-coconut cakes, red brownies and lemon-ginger muffins. This is the place for a coffee-break in Lower Queen Anne. Enjoy! read more

I am here at least once a day. New in town and lots of intro meetings to hold so I tend to book them at the coffee shop next door to the theater. I am now more familiar with the morning baristas than some of my local friends! (hey matt & james) Tall Soy Latte is my signature coffee of choice and it always comes out perfect. They use a plain soy so none of the fake vanilla flavor that you find in other shops permeates the taste. And the latte art is done to perfection - obviously this staff is well-trained and has a genuine interest in their work/craft. The drip is great too, never bitter. And the chai gets thumbs up as well - sweet or spicy, hot or cold. Baked goodies are plentiful - I highly recommend the green tea bread. read more

YUM and YUM!! First time I went there, I got an italian soda. It was served in a cute little jam jar thing, and delicious! Second time I went there I got their good ol' espresso drinks. So good! Ahh nothing like enjoying a good cup of coffee. The cafe has free wifi and you can people watch from inside. Close to everything and it's great for working on a project or just use your laptop, and relax Staff are always friendly and nice. First, I am an Uptown whore... it's the first place to come to mind when I want coffee and it's usually on the way to where ever I happened to be going. However, this place is a strong second compared with the local Starbucks (both in Safeway and in the Mediterranean Inn) and Cafe Ladero as well as Tully's open only during bankers hours. Of all the places, it is the least convenient coffee shop for me to go to. However, Café Zingaro's business model is clearly based on the Theater Traffic of Seattle Center and cannot be faulted for that! None-the-less, I like to stop by from time to time for some place different. The place is modern rather than a dive coffee shop. They make a good mocha, latte and drip coffee. I like the desert selection and it would be the place to go if I didn't know about Uptown after the theater or want a dessert that Uptown doesn't serve. Mostly, Uptown has a breakfast/tea offering of food where as Café Zingaro has a desert offering. I do try to patronize the place but alas it is off my beat track compared with the Uptown so I tend to not go here as frequently. If it was between this place and Café Ladero, I'd choose Café Zingaro place however. It's larger than Cafe Ladero and I have never had a problem with service here nor the quality of what they serve! read more

One of the best white mochas I've had (they call it a Bianca Mocha, which is fancy!) with lovely foam art. The barista at the counter was friendly and prompt. I'd hoped for some type of baked good/snacks but the counter selections didn't appeal. 2 sandwiches pre-wrapped in butcher paper (which may help keep them fresh, but didn't allow me to look at them before ordering) and 2 kinds of small cookies in a jar. The pastry/food display case was mostly empty and felt lonely. Then again, 6:30pm on a Monday is probably not their busiest time. A nice place to stop and sip before a show at McCaw Hall, but not the largest food selection...at least on that evening. read more

I am grateful to live in a city where you can find a cafe on literally every street corner. Given that kind of competition and variety, there are a large number of amazing and not so amazing cafes. Zingaro is currently my favorite cafe in Seattle. It was originally based off the excellent espresso, but the more I visit the cafe, the more impressed I am by the things they do well. First, the brother and sister duo that own and operate the joint are great. Very friendly and overall awesome people. They don't really like dogs inside, for obvious reasons, but they still provide dog treats. They have amazing art on the walls that is continuously circulating, which makes sense since it is great local art. Also, they stock some of the finest pastries and deserts I have had. The Ginger Lemon cup cake they have is sooooo delicious. I love this place and hope they stay in business very long. I used to like Cafe Vita and Vivace, but Zingaro kicks their butts. :) read more

Zingaro is a great place to hang out with friends or get some studying done. They have WiFi and plenty of tables/couches. The staff is always pleasant, but not overly friendly. This is a good solid coffee shop. And they have a revolving art gallery that always adds some visual interest. Oh, and this review wouldn't be complete without mention of the coconut cake. I LOVE THIS COFFEE SHOP! Everyone that works there, including the owners, are wonderful! Friendly and engaging. I have only had two things there, a dirty, iced horchata (so tastey!) and americanos (both iced and hot). I am very picky about the coffee I drink. I love being able to go somewhere other than Starbucks and consistently get a cup of joe that doesn't taste like it belongs in a cheap motel. Not only does it not taste like ass, it's so good, I bought a pound of beans to brew at home. If you're looking for quality coffee and a comfortable joint, go to Caffe Zingaro. Oh I lied, I have tried a few of their baked goods. I love Caffe Zingaro. The staff is so nice and really seems to connect with the neighborhood. I love to come here to study and get homework done. The internet is free and never slow and the music is always good. Calm, not to loud. The real reason though are the espresso drinks. (Oh mocha, you are so delicious yet such a no no!) I'm picky. I used to be a barista. I chose them over Ladro, Vita, & Uptown on a regular basis. Maybe it's the latte art or the fact that this is the only place that makes a perfect white chocolate mocha, but I keep coming back and so do a lot of other people. That speaks for itself. The only thing I would change is the drip coffee. It's kind of weak compared to ladro and vita. But maybe that good, I can drink more! Oh and they do surcharge an extra .25 on credit cards if your order is under $5, but just order one of the delicious pastries then! read more

Zingaro is very unique, but it might be in need of a revamp. The atmosphere is serene although the seating is just not spatially well thought out and the furniture is from the 90s and in the process of falling apart. I always come here for the customer service. The ponytail barista guy is really cool. Last time I went, though, my friend and I ordered cappuccinos to nurse our hangovers, and it took a million years for the lady to make them. Instead of acknowledging that we were waiting forever, she spent the whole time talking to her coworker about how he was late from his break and how she had been making coffees nonstop. Awkward. At least the cappuccinos were delicious. My boyfriend worships their hot chocolate, and they always have a cornucopia of Essential Bakery goods to choose from. This is quickly becoming my favorite cafe in the Lower Queen Anne area, maybe even one of my all-time favorites. Friendly staff and a quiet, inviting atmosphere make this a great stop, as well as a welcome contrast to ever-busy Mercer St. It's a great place to work or relax during the afternoon. For a nice cafe, the drinks are relatively inexpensive--a steal, really, for this type of thing. Grab an espresso--hell, make it a double--it's strong and not so scalding hot that it tastes burnt. Tea drinkers: This is probably the most tea-friendly cafe that I've discovered in the area. Their chai lattes are absolutely fantastic. Creamy, spicy, not overly sweet or heavy, and topped with a generous amount of cinnamon. If you like your tea straight, order a 14 oz. pot of loose leaf tea for under $3. If you're in the area and in need of a hot beverage or a place to unwind, definitely stop in. And bring cash; it's cheaper. read more

Ordered a dry cappuccino, what came was NOT that. It was more like a black coffee with steamed milk in it, it did not taste good. I went up and told the barista this and asked to order something else, they did not even acknowledge it. I then ordered the Nutella latte, it was just fine at most. This is not as good as the reviews led me to believe, the space is crammed and the art is very creepy. You are better off going to another local shop. Will not be coming back here again. read more

Sometimes you just need a quick n dirty caffeine fix (Starbucks 1.50 cup) Sometimes you want a latte in the AM without the body chemistry effects of soy, and place to chill for five seconds (Cafe Ladro) Sometimes you want a hearty mocha, without the hearty price (MM, with rice milk) And sometimes you want a heavenly cup of masterfully mixed coffee drinks, and a place to chill where you can read, study, and generally have space to breathe and wifi and work, and this place is Caffe Zingaro. I recommend the house specialty, a Caffe Zingaro. The desserts are a small selection and too highly priced, so if you really want something sweet, go across the street to MM. They're also open til 9.
