This was my first time having lunch here. For so many years I heard lots of good things about it. It didn't let us down. The atmosphere is like a large coffee shop, lots of seating. My mom and I each had a latte to start. The menu had so many options, from paninis to wraps, salads and sandwiches. I was so torn on what to eat. So I had the trio salad (seafood, chicken and tuna on spring mix lettuce) and a half a warm Tuscany panini. Both sooo good I'm glad we tried this place as we'll definitely be back. Day trip in Algoma and needed to catch some lunch.  Picked this place based on all the positive reviews (thanks Yelp community!).  I had a positive experience but there was certainly some confusion along the way.  It felt like I was having a series of blond moments that day. First, the restaurant is a house, which threw me off when looking for as I was driving.  Tried to go through the wrong door, and look! Oh there's a big sign saying "Entrance"...oops my bad.   What's still perplexing to me is this place a coffeehouse or a restaurant? To me here are the differences: Coffeeshop: -You order at a counter -Seat yourself -Food gets brought out to you -You get your own silverware and napkins from the designated area -You clean up after yourself and put your dishes in the bins or buckets in a designated area Restaurant: -Someone seats you -Make your order at the table -The table is setup with napkins and silverware -Food gets brought out to you -They clean up the table As I walked in, you see tables set up that it looks like how a restaurant set up, so I wasn't sure if I wait for someone or sit myself.  Well you need to take a few steps to the left at the counter. There you order your meal, sit wherever you want, and they bring their food out to you. They have a big menu of coffee drinks behind the counter, but the food menu are small pieces of paper in this bin that wasn't super obvious to me. Made my order and had a fantastic hot chocolate with the perfect topping of whip cream.  I ordered a sea food wrap with a side salad. They serve a lot of wraps, salads, and some grilled sandwiches. My wrap was ok, nothing thrilling but was able to chow it down.  For some reason I loved my side salad, the greens and other veggies were fresh and tasty - kind of wished I would have got a whole salad instead. A couple more things that added to my confusion is when the gentleman brought my food, I asked for silverware and napkins and he had to get it from a girl behind the counter.  So, do you have to ask for your silverware each time? Just to make sure, I asked the girls at the counter if they clean my table or do take care of it myself - yeah you leave everything at the table for them to clean. To me, it feels like it's a hybrid of a restaurant and coffee shop. I could tell this is a local favorite as it was fairly busy at that point, and I'm sure once you understand their system, it's really not that hard.  If I'm in the area, I would consider stopping there again. read more

What a lovely cafe! I went as part of a group of 6. We all ordered individually at the register yet cafe staff were wanted to get our orders out to us at one time. Everyone ordered something different and raved about their food. The chicken artichoke wrap was tasty. The greens had great flavor (not bitter at all) and were tender. Another in our group ordered the spinach salad and was NOT disappointed by the generous portion of crumbled bacon. Dessert was amazing. I loved the salted caramel torte. It wasn't even busy, so I have no explanation for the slow service. Had to go up and ask and they said it's coming up, finally made it. When it arrived it was hot and tasty, but man. I love this coffee shop! I've been here many times with my coffee girl group. I usually get the Turtle frappe - it's divine. However, they have a new fall drink menu so I thought I'd try something new. I'm now addicted to the chunky chipmunk chai drink. It is unbelievably good.. and I don't usually care for chai. Now I'm obsessed. I've had breakfast and lunch here too. Their food is so yummy. For breakfast I had the chocolate filled crepes. The plate comes with scrambled eggs and a seasonal fruit bowl with some amazing kind of cinnamon cream on top. Delish. For lunch I usually get the California wrap - but I ask for it on gluten free bread. The bread is so amazing - I couldn't believe it was gluten free! It's even better when they do the panini press thing to it. Yum. You should go here. It's good for coffee, breakfast, lunch.. dinner too probably. Oh! They also have a case filled with desserts that look fantastic. I haven't tried any thus far. I did get a little cup of their hazelnut gelato once.. it tasted like Ferrero Rocher®. Came here for the first time for a hot beverage and dessert on a cold day. Although the name is hard to pronounce, the concept is easy to grasp. This is a gourmet coffee shop that also specializes in in sandwiches. The atmosphere is somewhat trendy, the prices reasonable. I ordered a cannoli and a hot buttered rum cider. he cannoli was excellent. Most cannoli I've ever had were too sweet. This one was light and creamy, the perfect dessert. This is a bit of a surprise find in the sleepy town of Algoma, which for so long seemed to be frozen in time (except for the occasional store closing). It's a cute place with a good menu of breakfast and lunch items and a bunch of coffee drinks, including some rather unique concoctions. Yesterday I got a German chocolate mocha (with chocolate, coconut & caramel). It was good, but very sweet and I couldn't really detect all the flavors behind the chocolate. I also grabbed lunch there. The service seemed a bit slow, and perhaps hit or miss. One woman who was there before me didn't get her food until after I did and had to eventually ask for it to go after waiting over 20 minutes (according to her). I like the "Lighter Fare" option of combining a half sandwich or wrap with items like a cup of soup, a side salad or a fruit cup. I had the chicken artichoke wrap, which was very tasty and unique. The iced tea came in a HUGE glass, and was excellent as well. FYI, you order at the counter here, and they give you a number to set on your table, and bring your items out to you when they're ready. Just sat down and Im immediately met with friendly faces and good mornings. I ordered the zombie on the beach coffee drink and the blend of flavors is so refreshingly unique its beyond description whomever came up with that coffee combo should get an award. For breakfast I had the Italian breakfast bake and Italian crepes ..... TOO GOOD. Wow! Food presentation is classy and the portions would fall in the medium sized zone. The bake has a great texture to it and so flavorful. The crepes were cooked very well and the berry filling was exceptional , I finished every last bite of everything I ordered because it was that delicious.
