We stopped in for lunch after a wine pick up and a recommendation to try Millie's.

Three Eleven Bar & Bistro - Our famous lobster roll!

Three Eleven Bar & Bistro was my most favorite restaurant that I visited while in the Green Bay…read morearea. But before I mention the things I love about this place, I need to tell you that I had 311 songs in my head the whole time I was supping on my soup and forking my salad. And I don't even like 311! It must be because, whoa, amber is the color of Three Eleven's energy. I could tell, as soon as I entered Three Eleven, that is was my type of place. The lighting was muted, there were white tablecloths on the tables, as well as fresh flowers in small vases. I just respond to those types of things. Then I found out there's a great wine list, the menu is pared down, the food offered is well-thought-out, and the service is excellent. All this before I even had a bite or a drink. I visited for lunch, so I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad, which is mixed greens, beets, burrata cheese, roasted almonds and a citrus vinaigrette. You can get chicken or salmon with this salad, but I opted for neither: the burrata was enough, and frankly, that's the reason why I ordered the salad. (That, and the beets. I love beets.) The salad was cold and light and refreshing -- the type of salad that you can't stop eating because it's so satisfying. I also ordered a bowl of lobster bisque, which was thick and creamy, with big chunks of lobster. This, too, was so satisfying that I didn't want to stop eating it. It came with a piece of bread to sop up every last bit. My table also ordered a few things to share, including the frites (one order was plain, the other was truffle), calamari, and because we're in Wisconsin, we also got the cheese curds. I tried everything except the calamari (I am not a fan in general), and the plain fries were my favorite. Frites come with a sauce of your choosing. Three Eleven Bar & Bistro is located in downtown Algoma, next door to a bookstore and other cute shops. It's a nice place to stop in for lunch or dinner while you're in the Algoma area.

There were…read morefour people in our group, and the waitress got something significantly wrong on each of our orders. That is; one wrong sandwich; one missing, (but charged for) strawberry topping; one wrong drink order; & another served with a bun instead of requested bread type. After delivering our entrees, she never came around to check on our needs such as coffee/drink refills or meal satisfaction. Well after eating, she did deliver our tabs, but never indicated whether she would collect our payment or if we needed to "pay at the window." It's not like she was overwhelmed with customers as we were one of two occupied tables in the place. One of which she sat down & chatted with that consumer. Each of us did walk to counter to pay our tab in cash, yet she followed us out to the parking lot and accused us of stiffing her for one of the tabs. Wondering if management changed hands as I ate here about six weeks ago and was overwhelmingly pleased with the quality, quantity & pricing of my order. The young man who served our group was so pleasant, attentive & genuinely accommodating. Although the taste of food this time was okay, it was not of the quality we recalled, and the service was definitely reason not to return.

Very good, highly recommend. Wifey had blackened flounder tacos with salsa and chips. Fish portion was generous and prepared perfectly. Brazed short ribs on mashed potatoes with asparagus caught my eye. It was delicious and came with a very rich Demi glaze gravy. Meat potion was rich and tender to the fork. We wrapped the night sharing a piece of carrot cake. Prefect ending as we watched the sunset from outside seating. I love this place. The chef never disappoints. Great value and always perfectly prepared. Highly recommend without any reservations. Definitely one of our go to places in Door County.

For the higher cost per entree, I'd expect much better cutlery and something more than dollar store thin paper napkins. Server was new- so will give a break. But give a bar glass when a can beverage is served. I had to wait way too long and ask too often for the obvious. Same goes for water refill. Again, at this price point, I expect more. Front of house needs sharpening. No chit chat giggles as customers are waiting. Please. *I know Chef's Hat can do better. Start with higher standards of lip-cutting spoons...
