Another Wisconsin Fish Fry Winner! Quite frankly this place is not the most impressive from the outside, but you can tell by the way the people pile in on a Friday Night that they have good food! Drinks were tasty and there were some beer specials. I think the Old Fashions were $5.50. After you have a drink (or 2) a waitress come by to take your order and when it's ready they come and get you. The food will be on the table so you can sit right down and dig in. The potions are pretty large and the "cup" of soup is bigger than most bowls you would get at other restaurants. (We tried to order a bowl of soup and they talked us out of it... glad they did!). Prices of the food were on par or even on the lower side of most area fish fry's. Our waiter and waitress were a married couple and they worked their ass off because they took care of the whole dinning area. Even though they were very busy they both took time to make sure we had everything we need and were happy with the food. There were some drawbacks. The bartenders were not very friendly... I would say even crabby. Not a good first impression. The place is cash only and it is tropical hot in there when it's busy. If it's warm outside be prepared to lose some water weight in sweat while eating. Actually very uncomfortable. But let's be honest, it's Wisconsin.... how many warm Friday nights are there!!

I mean this is a dive bar in the middle of no where that happens to serve a really out of this world delicious old fashion and fish fry. I ran into a co-worker who informed me to get the small because if I would have got the large haddock I would have had way too many leftovers. As it was I shared my fries with my husband who got the perch sandwich. The prices are typical for the area. I guess I should quickly mention this place is tiny and you will have to get a drink, put in your food order AND then you will be seated at your table when your food comes. Just a heads up so you know what to expect. The food itself was good. I liked the light breading on my fish and coleslaw was good in flavor. I would come back. I heard the burgers are yummy. PS: Service was great my husband was given too much change back he was honest about it and they gave him a free drink.

The Settlement is a townie dive bar just outside of Green Bay. When it comes to tasty, guilty pleasure, bar food it doesn't get any better than this. Speaking of guilty pleasures the Settlement burger is a hamburger with a brat patty added and a ridiculous amount of cheese for good measure. A "small" order of fries could be a meal for two. There very well known for having one of the best fish fries in the Green Bay area, so if it's a Friday you'd best get there early or prepare to wait a while. Add to that the cheap drink prices. Thirsty for a 32oz mug of beer, but only have a $5 bill? No problem, you'll even get change back! Equally inexpensive quality cocktails, too. You can't go wrong. The people there are the friendliest in the world. Both customers and employees will gladly welcome you into the conversation of the moment. If you're anywhere near Green Bay, make the extra jog north up Bay Settlement Rd to The Settlement!

Love this quintessential dive bar just off the shores of historic Green Bay. A great friendly place for conversation and a pint. Walleye on Fridays. Not open on Sundays. You'll love this slice of Wisconsin.

I am a guest next door at the hotel and this is our first most likely last visit to Door county…read more Although if we were to come back we would definitely come back here. The hotel and the restaurant have been thoughtfully redesigned and renovated. I understand it was completed about two years ago. You can tell a lot of time and money went into updated 17 rooms and a restaurant so I can appreciate the dedication as small business owners. I also think it was very smart to make it dog friendly as I know from owning air bnb you will book twice as fast as if you don't. Any dogs we have encountered were well behaved and better than most kids these days. We went to the restaurant last night but had to sit inside because of the Canadian wildfires which I must say diminished the ability to enjoy the area and I'm sure they ended up with a lot of cancellations because the hotel was only about 1/2 full but the restaurant was doing a decent business. The restaurant was good. A few things a miss but overall I would return and may do so tonight if the smoke lifts to be able to enjoy the outdoors in JULY! My only criticism is if I ask for bread like a bread basket don't tell me you have one when you don't but still appreciate the effort. The bartender was very sweet and I would say the Alfredo was better than the bolognese because I got a pappardelle noodle when it said tagliatelle and the sauce was not a true bolognese and had a lot of big chunks of Italian sausage. Yes it was the chef's spin on it but was pretty tasty and I could tell homemade. The Wente Pinot could be improved upon but the brownie was outstanding. Chefs kiss. Give them a try and I think you will enjoy. Yes it's not in egg harbor but for us worked well because we're leaving for Milwaukee to see friends so being on the south side worked for us. The town itself isn't much and honestly if it wasn't for this hotel there wouldn't be anything for about 15 minutes in any direction for other food options. Kudos to the owners for turning around an old run down place and giving it new life! Your beds are comfy your lakefront is great and your efforts are clear.

The chef has worked in several large cities and brings outstanding cooking skills to small town Wisconsin. Our party of four enjoyed 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, and a dessert to share. All were excellent. We look forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy the deck and tiki bar overlooking the bay.

It only took one visit to turn us into regulars…read more We've lived in the area for a few years and had never heard of this place until stumbling upon it on Yelp, hoping to find a compromise between two of our regular haunts. My husband wasn't sure about trying it - "if it's good, why haven't we heard about it?" - but the reviews were great, so we figured it was worth a visit. We were too late to catch the fish fry, but were wowed by the burger and the fish sandwich (who gets excited about a fish sandwich??) and the friendly service. We chatted with the owner and watched Food Network, which had been consistently playing on the TV screens for each of our evening visits. The atmosphere feels like your best friend's basement bar. There are tables, but we prefer to cozy up to the bar itself. Our fourth visit, we brought our kids, who were charmed by the "never lose" rubber ducky claw machine, and my husband's mother, who could find fault at a Michelin star restaurant (and usually does) but loved it as much as we did. The homemade beer batter cod or walleye is worth a visit from wherever you live: it's a massive portion and the best fish fry I have ever eaten in my entire Wisconsin-bred life. You'll have to follow them on Facebook to see the daily specials; but we have never been disappointed by the high-quality homemade food and friendly service we find here, whether a special or their regular menu. Five stars, highly recommend!
