First time trying Caffe Soleil, and overall I had a good experience. It's a very small café with two counters and a few small tables, but the inside is adorable. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, with trendy décor that is very appealing to the eye. When I arrived, it was a little challenging to find the full menu, and I wasn't greeted right away. However, I understand places can get busy, so I didn't let that affect my overall impression too much. I ordered the Panini Caprese sandwich, and my son ordered the Caesar salad wrap. My sandwich didn't look quite as full as the photo, but honestly, the flavor made up for it. It was delicious with great texture, and I loved every bite. I also appreciated that it came with pickled jalapeños on the side, which was a nice extra touch since I love adding those to sandwiches. My son rated his wrap a 3 out of 5. He felt there wasn't much chicken inside, and there also wasn't much Caesar dressing, so it mostly tasted like a wrap with lettuce. It would have been a much better experience if they had included more chicken and Caesar dressing on the side to add more flavor. Overall, I'd definitely come back and try this place again because I really enjoyed my sandwich and the café itself has such a cute, cozy vibe. read more

Some of the food is good. The wrap is really good. I would give that a 10/10 for sure hands down! Looks as advertised and tastes great! The blt was like a 6 or 7 out of 10 and the pizza... not worth it unfortunately. Packaging was so cute but the pizza looked nothing like it was advertised for the price. Newly opened Cafe Soleil in the heart of Oldtown Salinas at 8 Gabilan Street. Coffee, pastries and deli sandwiches Order at the counter to go or sit at 1 of 3 table side barstools either views of Gabilan Street. There a few outdoor tables that create a uniquely European feel to Oldtown. They have several grab and go options as well as espresso drinks. I ordered up an apricot croissant and an Americano coffee. It was nice just to sit outside and enjoy the morning. read more

Such a cute bakery. Loved the feel, felt like i was walking into a bakery in Italy. The two ladies greeted my daughter and I as we walked in. We complimented the look and they asked if it was our first time in. One lady walked around the counter to point to some of the more popular ordered items, suggestions just overall great experience. A cute but small cafe. Come here for the food, not the coffee. I had a white chocolate mocha and it was way too sweet. The cranberry turkey sandwich was good. The cranberry sauce came with whole fruit. The star of the show was the chicken Caesar wrap. The croutons were flavorful, the chicken was juicy, and the lettuce had the perfect crunch. Loved this café! The vibes inside are so warm and inviting -- the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. I had a breakfast sandwich and a double-shot cappuccino, and both were amazing. The cappuccino was perfectly made, and the food was fresh and full of flavor. My boyfriend got a dirty chai and some pastries and couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. Let me start by saying i had high hopes for this cafe, the location is perfect right down the street from school, i decided to go in in between my classes since it was a nice sunny day and they offer outside seating. Went inside, no coffee menu visible, clerk was short with us, ordered an almost $20 dollar asian chicken salad wrap that took 20min to be made, they forgot to add my chicken and when i finally received it the chicken cold and hard and almost chipped my tooth! I lost my appetite was mad that i spent twenty dollars and there was too much ginger. My suggestion is fresh chicken! My friend ordered chicken caesar wrap and it was $20 and her chicken was hard too. read more

I am offering an honest account of my experience - HOWEVER, I'd like to give it another try sometime. It was new and still getting going, and I know sometimes the beginnings are rough, growing pains and whatnot. I will gladly update my review later! The place seems promising. Ordered a pastrami - took about 20 minutes. They apologized and offered us some macarons. Very tasty! The sandwich was ok, way too much plain yellow mustard. My wife and I joked that we both smelled like mustard for hours afterward. The pastrami was delicious, but the sandwich was pricey and rather poorly executed. Next time we will explore the menu a bit more - hopefully it's improved with the timeliness of service and quality of prep. Drove by today and there were about a dozen people outside! Fortunatelly, we were on vacation and exploring Salinas, we went one of the first clients. My dog Rory was the first dog friend there. The service is very friendly, fast. The ambiance is cozy, like a caffè in a small city in Europe. The croissant was delicious! And my white chocolate coffee was really good! read more

Called in a lunch order for myself and coworker. I probably would've gave five stars If the service on the phone would've been a little easier& clear. They were out of a few things and that's definitely understandable, but it was like they were questioning if they were out of it or not the uncertainty just kind of made me wonder. So we ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and attempted to order a flatbread of the day. They did not have the flatbread of the day available, which is again understandable then I tried to order the turkey Panini and then they said that they did not have that as well, so we just ended up getting two of the Caesar wraps, just a little bummed because we wanted to try two different things and share to see how we liked everything. However, the food was ready right when she arrived to pick it up and said that it is a small place, but very cute the Caesar wraps were stuffed which was appreciated, and the croutons were still very crunchy in the wrap which usually doesn't happen - it did add to the deliciousness of the wrap itself. A little bit more dressing would've been nice just because it was extremely freshly made. You could tell you could definitely taste the anchovy which is usually forgotten in mass produced batches of Caesar dressing, so it leads me to believe that they make their own? If not wherever they purchase it has to get some credit because it was pretty bomb. Overall, I would definitely order again. I do want to try some of their beverages, but I do think we're gonna try to order lunch for the squad at work again just to see how it goes. Hopefully they have more available because I do know my team of mechanics and technicians probably won't go for Caesar wrap as their first option lol read more

My new fav spot! This place is amazing! A little hole in the wall with big flavor treats! The man that served us on Friday was so sweet and patient with us. We decided on the pumpkin swirl bake and alfajor cookie. Absolutely delicious. I also saw they serve savory treats like brisket flatbread, Which we'll definitely be back to try. The ambiance of this place is amazing! They have vegan pastries, which I have to say are absolutely delicious. My 12-year-old daughter and I stopped by today to get something to drink. She really wanted to try the Matcha, and at first was a little surprised by the flavor. The young woman working behind the counter (Janette) heard this was her first matcha and went out of her way to make the drink special by adding a creamy strawberry cream and a little extra vanilla. I really had high hopes for this place but unfortunately not good!!! I have this place twice and both times have been disappointed. The first time I went there for the Gorgonzola, apple salad, which they did not have so I went with the Chinese chicken salad. I got home and it was drenched in salad dressing. I could not even eat it as It was soggy and terrible. Also I waited along time for her to make it and I did not see anyone in there. I think it was about a half an hour. I asked the young lady if the cream cheese pumpkin bread was made daily she said yes, which is definitely not true and the slice I was given was very small. Then I went back trying something different so I went with the slow roasted turkey melt. This was a joke. First off the turkey was cold processed turkey. I'm not sure where the melt part is coming from and I would highly recommend changing the description of the sandwich because it's misleading. It was soggy and there is supposed to be creamy brie cheese on it, which that was nowhere in sight. I will not be back and I would not recommend this place.. waste of money. read more
