Such a great little bakery with a wide variety of dessert options. We stopped here on our way to Monterey and even though it was mid morning, they still had many options to choose from. Everything tasted fresh and disgorging. The favorites were the chocolate mousse, strawberry tart, and pecan cinnamon roll. Will be coming back to try the fall seasonal treats soon.
When you are looking at it from the outside, it doesn't seem a big deal, but then you walk in and it's the cutest little bakery. Your eyes want everything in sight because it looks so delicious.. The service was great. The girls were super helpful and friendly. I wish I would've discovered it before getting my coffee at Starbucks because they also sell coffee that sounds delicious so I'll make it a point to grab a cup of coffee there as well. Also, there's also seating outside so if the weather is nice, you can grab a cup of coffee in your pastry and sit outdoors. They have both Sweet n Savory goodies
Cute bakery in Prunedale. Got some pastries and a coffee for the road when passing through. They are great and worth stopping by. Was hoping for guava but they didn't have any today. They have plenty of staff for the small place so even if there is a line, it moves fast.
My guilty pleasure is definitely the sweet treats here--they truly have it all! Choosing what to order is never easy, but this time I went with the classic almond croissant and decided to try something new with the passion fruit-filled croissant. Wow! The passion fruit filling was absolutely amazing--fruity, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The white chocolate topping was the perfect finishing touch and complemented it beautifully. I planned to eat only half and save the rest for later, but it was so good that I couldn't resist finishing the whole thing. I first visited during their soft opening in 2023 and have stopped by occasionally ever since. After this visit, though, I think it's officially become my go-to spot for all things delicious. Every visit feels like a treat, and I can't wait to come back for more!

Super cute bakery! Lots of sweet and savory options. My daughter and I tried the biscoff roulette, super flaky yet buttery and moist. It was filled with biscoff cream. The strawberry tart was perfection. The crust was buttery and firm. The cream had vanilla seeds, light and not too sweet. Lastly, the French press was perfectly served in cute mug. I will definitely be back to try other baked goods.
Hidden gem alert! Absolutely amazing pastries, quick service and attentive staff and adorable ambiance. I bake personally and not only is the lamination top tier, but its design and flavor combinations are out of this world. We got the discord roll, chocolate croissant, Dubai chocolate croissant. The strawberry vanilla with meringue on top was fresh and light. The real vanilla bean pastry cream was delightful. You could see the trademark specs throughout! It's hard to get pastries that aren't tough or go soft mid morning, but these pastries are even better than some I've had in Paris!
AMAZING bakery with the best selection of baked goods, artfully decorated and delicious!! I'm a huge almond croissant fan, and it did not disappoint. It's just off 101, making it easy to get off, get in, and get back on the road. There is no need to go to Starbucks in the same shopping center when the food and coffee are 100% better. They don't have espresso, but they have fantastic drip and pour-over coffee. I will go out of my way to stop in every time I am in the Prunedale, Salinas, Monterey, or Carmel area. You can box baked treats to bring home or give as gifts too. Highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious pastries and such a pleasant little coffee shop !! The ambiance is modern bistro yet cozy with cute outdoor sitting area. The staff is welcoming you with kindness and ready to guide you through the various choices available. Last but not least, the pastries are as appealing visually as delicious all with a beautiful flaking technique. The Pain au Chocolat topped with a fine layer of chocolate with the hint of orange flower is absolutely delicious, and the Croissant filled with vanilla cream and fresh strawberries just divine!
Wow!!! I got there right when they opened and the selection was amazing (as you can tell in the video). Everything I tried was so fresh and delicious. Definitely worth the drive. Such high quality.

Came to Gourmet Central Bakery to get myself something sweet as a treat for my birthday :). I chose to come here as it was on the way to the beach I had mapped out. Located in the Prunedale shopping plaza, Gourmey Central is tucked away in the very right-hand corner next to Stevie's restaurant. Walking through the door, I felt transported to a trendy coffee shop vs. a dingy shopping plaza. Neon signs, soft overhead lighting, upbeat pop music, wood accents and cute tiling on the floor. It's an IG influencer's dream backdrop lol. I ordered: - Iced latte with mint - super refreshing and reminded me a of a knock-off Mint Mojito form Philz. - Fruit tart - loved the glazed fruit and the custard. Very nice thin crust as well. YUM. - Hazelnut croissant wheel - I was hoping to get the pistachio, but they were out. This was crispy, chocolatey, and had a chocolate cream filled inside. There was no one else in the store, so service was quick and easy. I wished they had bags as I was juggling everything while walking back to my car. Will definitely be coming back on my next beach trip. I will get my hands on that pistachio croissant wheel!
Such a sweet little spot! Welcoming service and friendly staff the pastries were great and delicious. We got a strawberry danish, almond croissant, and a pistachio croissant roulette. Strawberry danish had yummy strawberry mouse on top. The almond croissant was flavorful and just the right amount of sweetness. The pistachio roulette was filled with a pistachio filling which added to the pastry The coffee was good as well. We got a mazapán latte and a cinnamon lechera latte both with oat milk. Both delicious and the mazapán had prices of the treat at the bottom. Every thing was great! Stop by if you're in the area or coming down from Monterey. will be making this a stop for sure

Food was good, next day got stale eat the food day of. service was very good, should be more patient or attend to others I needed more time. ambiance: smells and aroma fresh goods was tasty, seating was pretty and had cafe feel. opinion: yummy bread for sharing with family and ppl who had a hard day this baked bread cheers you up. read more
While on a drive between Monterey and San Jose we needed to make a quick stop for coffee and gnosh and so we tried the Gourmet Central Bakery. It is tucked in the corner of a small shopping center in the town of Prunedale, near the intersection of Highways 156 and 101. While the outside is nondescript, the bakery itself is beautiful on the inside and the selection of baked goods is extensive and spectacular. So many unique and tempting creations. It is difficult to choose one thing to order because there are so many that look amazing. We tried what they call a roulette which is a round layered pastry that is loaded with flavor. It was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet but just right. The disappointing factor at Gourmet Central Bakery is the coffee. It was incredible weak and flavorless. Not sure if it was the beans they use or the mix of water to coffee, but it was hugely disappointing. It did not compliment whatsoever their incredible baked goods. I hope they will focus on providing beverages that match the quality and creativity of their pastries. I would say check out GCB for all of their incredible baked goods, just don't order coffee until they make some changes. Their baked goods deserve, as do customers, a satisfying coffee pairing. read more

On the way home from Moss Landing I checked to see if any good looking bakery s were available. I'm glad I saw this place. I read the reviews and it sounded great. We arrived around 11am and some of the savory items were sold out. But for the most part everything else was available. Mm I got a cinnamon roll and some others to try at home. It was soft and fresh tasting. It's hard to find a soft cinnamon roll. Most get over cooked and taste dry. Hopefully the rest taste as good when I get home read more

This quaint bakery did not disappoint. The flaky strawberry croissant had a refreshing filled center not too sweet and my salted caramel coffe with almond milk paired perfectly with it. My husband had the ham and cheese croissant warmed with a pepperoncini on top gave it a savory aftertaste with an iced Nutella coffee. We also shared a key lime tart with meringue topping. Can't wait to try this place again for other treats. read more

If you are anywhere close to this very cute bakery just stop by immediately! You need these treats. Portions are huge, very good if you like to share or if not, they are good to split between two meals! Stuffing for both sweet and savory croissants are very generous. They have croissants, cookies and conchas. Inside of the bakery is also very cute and staff is friendly, you can even see where all the magic baking happens. read more

We've been here twice now, and today we got to try their "viral" pistachio rolled croissant. I absolutely won't be ordering any of them again, unfortunately. The first one I tried was their "cajeta", and the filling was really grainy and almost bitter. The pistachio filling is also extremely off putting. There was way too much inside and while it seemed to made from ground pistachios, there was no pistachio flavor at all. It's also dipped in a green dyed white chocolate, so that also didn't have any pistachio flavor. The croissant itself is pretty decent and flaky but, the filling is not great at all. I'm also never sure what time to go, because they've either sold out of everything for the day, or nothings been put out to display yet. It's been very hit or miss, and for the price.... Won't be doing anymore rolled croissants. read more

FYI...it's not your local doughnut shop, if you ask for a box she's gonna get you one first they put your order on a cute platter. (My mistake) This bakery is such a gem! This was our first time stopping by. The pastries are fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. A beautiful locally owned bakery located in a small town near Salinas,Ca. I was driving with my kiddos last week and my daughter noticed the sign for this bakery. We turned in to see if they were open. I was pleasantly surprised to have such a beautiful bakery tucked away in this particular shopping center we would frequent when visiting from out of town. One thing I love about a good bakery, they usually serve a mean espresso that will appease to my daily coffee bean addction. This cup didn't disappoint. The young lady working the counter was the sweetest in finding out which items we could order due to food allergies. We ordered a strawberries and cream pastry and a strawberries croissant. Everything here was made with a croissant and oh my! It's the perfect consistency and had the fresh ly baked smell and the crunch. The strawberries and cream pastry was too die for paired with my coffee was a match made in Heaven. I will be day dreaming about this sweet treat until my next visit. I hope this bakery is still here the next time we are in town. I wanted a bite of my daughter's croissant, but I'll have to order two next time. She didn't leave me a bite! Thank you for the amazing service your employees provided us here. Your bakery brought magic into our morning commute. read more
