The service at the order window was absolutely horrible. Did not ask if we wanted the coffee to go or not and provided to go coffees, each in two stacked paper coffee cups. Absolute waste. The Caffe Nero in Melrose (which isn't listed on yelp and doesn't have their hours updated online) has the WORST wifi ever. It is ridiculous how they have blocked YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc. if you are planning on doing work here with their wifi, save the trip on coming. read more

A charming coffee shop (in fact this is one of a small chain in the US). Coffee is good and it has more space and a more comfortable and charming environment than Starbucks, with better pastries. I had a cake which was quite good. I still think that Wholefoods has better pastries than anybody, but this is about as good from anywhere outside of Boston. read more

I was hoping to enjoy a unique quality coffee cafe experience, but was very disappointed. For a busy Saturday afternoon, there were only two staff members in the entire shop. I waited in line with ten people in front of me because of the insufficient staff. After about ten-to-fifteen minutes, I gave my order for cappuccino. The barista attempted to make it three times, dumping the first two attempts. The tiramisu cake was old, stale, dried out and rubbery. I was completely disappointed. The owners need to hire enough staff, and competent staff. Until they do, it's not worth going there. read more

My nephew and I stopped in to Caffe Nero after seeing a movie today. We each had a sweet snack and a drink. He had a brownie and a chocolate milk and I had a pistachio muffin and a peppermint tea (hot). Speaking for my choice, it was fantastic. The muffin was fresh and delicious and the mint tea was just what I needed on this cold, raw, and rainy day. Additionally, the interior of the place was warm and welcoming and the staff friendly. Amazing coffee shop with excellent pastries, fireplace and cozy atmosphere... what a coffee shop ought to be. What an enjoyable place to take a book and spend an afternoon! The service here is really excellent, friendly but still very efficient. We discovered this Cafe Nero by accident and only later realized it's part of a chain but the other Cafe Nero we've tried, in Arlington and Burlington, don't have anywhere near the level of service of the one in Reading, so we only really go to this one. read more

Very happy! Tons of seating inside and free two hour parking around Main Street and in lots. Found myself here after losing wifi after a storm. Free 3 hours of wifi- perfect! Coffee is always on point and just looking at the pastries are enough to make your mouth water. Love the gas fireplace too! read more

Fun, relaxing interior, good coffee, so so food (not super fresh) but I enjoyed my visit and my friend and I had 2 hours of catching up. Friendly staff too. However, when I went to clean my stuff up-there was no recycling bucket for the plastic cup and plastic salad container. When I asked if they recycle the staff person said, no. NO! In this day and age. I'm sorry. I wanted to go back but I just can't. Either stop using so much plastic and paper or start recycling. read more

Ok coffee, ok bacon and cheese croissant, but twice we've gone in to get a sandwich and have been told there are no condiments available for sandwiches- no mustard, no mayonaise! How can you sell a ham and cheese sandwich with no condiments? We asked specifically about this on two occasions and were told that they don't have them. First of all I have to say I love their coffee and the place is clean and comfortable. My problem is with the stupidity of what appears to be corporate management policy. Like many other coffee chains Cafe Nero does not offer iced decaf coffee, I understand this but have always been able to work around it by ordering a 20 oz iced decaf americano including at Cafe Nero. Recently I have been told they will only sell me a 10oz version. This, despite the fact that they have the 20oz cups clearly on display and I am more than happy tp pay for the additional two shots. I asked the young lady at the counter for an explanation of the policy and she said that nether she or her co-workers could explain it and put it down to corporate policy. So I left the store and walked 2 minutes down the street to another store and asked them if they would sell me a 20oz drink. They looked very puzzled and asked why I would think they wouldn't. So the bottom line is that I have to go 200 yds further for my coffee, I will miss Cafe Nero but I will get what I want. I would welcome an understandable explanation. read more

Caffe Nero is a nice addition to downtown Reading! I enjoy waking here on Saturday mornings from activities in the area or stopping in for an afternoon treat! They have a delicious frittata breakfast sandwich which can be warmed up in their panini press. It is light and fluffy, and the cheese adds a nice zip to the sandwich. I've also sampled their croissant sandwiches and a few baked goods. They have a nice selection of salads and other to go items and the atmosphere is welcoming and unique. The coffee is strong and well made. Only one "off" drink, a chai latte that was just not hot enough, I should have asked for it warmer, I am sure they would have been happy to adjust it. I was visiting some friends in Peabody on Saturday and stopped in quick for a drink on the go. At cafes, I usually just get a hot or iced green tea, but after talking with the staff I branched out to a chai latte! I applaud the staff for such great recommendations and how polite and kind they were to me and for a speedy check out. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area. read more

I love it here. Started visiting a few months ago just to find a cute little place that wasn't Starbucks, Panera etc. that I could sit and drink something good and read or write or draw. Usually when I have gone (around 4-6pm weekends) it would be quiet, today it was very busy, but not noisy. I didn't mind! Cozy seating. Good amount of interesting beverages and pastries, sandwiches. I usually get tea or a tea latte but I have had their hot apple cider and that was good! Looking at what other people have ordered, coffee, lattes, hot chocolates all look appetizing. Drink sizes for dine-in are pretty good. Have tried a bacon and cheese croissant, kouign-amann (SO yummy), a few other pastries. Not too pricy of a place! Get the stamp card, you can get a free item after you've filled it. read more

This is probably my favorite coffee shop by far. The vibe is warm and relaxed and the service was amazing. Everyone was super nice and a bonus was that they had almond milk.
