Lovely Pastry shop in Winchester, with some more offerings. This place is one part pastry shop, one part charcuterie shop, one part wine shop and one part European market. It's open and airy. They have seating in the back. The pastries were so good. Looking forward to trying more stuff there. They also have coffee and specialty drinks they make. The cheese and meat area is a separate counter with all your charcuterie needs. The cheeses looked so good. There are meats as well. Beyond that is a little nook of wine and spirits. The front of the store in like a little European market. They have oils and candies and sauces. This place is great for pastry but I would come before hosting a party to get wine, charcuterie and pastry all in one place. Love everything about this place. Service was awesome. Wanted to love this place. Came around 1:30 on a Sunday. Not busy at all. Nothing in the pastry window but a large quiche and mediocre looking macarons. Got a matcha latte, was served in a to-go cup. Took about 15 minutes to get despite there being no other customers waiting for anything (slow service). Latte was mediocre. All in all, not worth the drive for me. read more

Visited at 12pm on a Wednesday and was surprised to see it was actually quite busy. Cute store with nice but expensive offerings. I stopped by their bakery and was met with a lot of great looking options. I ordered a Madeleine and a drink and sat in their dining area. While the coffee was great I was deeply disappointed by the Madeleine. No lemon flavor and the taste and consistency of corn bread. While I enjoyed the store, getting a classic so wrong led me to question the rest of the offerings without giving them a fair shot. Overall though I believe it's worth a visit. read more

Came for the croissants and it was definitely worth the trip. I had the ham and cheese croissant warmed and my partner had the chocolate croissant - both were well-laminated, very buttery, flakey and tasty. I also grabbed a tomato pesto pastry for later and will have to return for the savory scone! Service was friendly and prompt, and the space is classy, French-inspired, and very clean. It's bigger than it looks on the outside and as a foodie I loved looking at all the cheeses, meats, wines, and goods. This is a nice place to pick up a gift and/or snack for a dinner party. They also have a few outdoor bistro tables. It's conveniently located right by the newly accessible Winchester commuter rail in a nice little part of the downtown area. This is a cute grocery store and cafe/bakery in Winchester. I was here on a weekend around 3pm and there was plenty of parking in the area. The bakery side was pretty full and not many baked goods were left. But whatever was left looked delicious. I opted for a matcha lemonade ($6.60) and walked around the area. The shop has some cute Knick knacks and specialty grocery items. Will definitely be back with a book! read more

Since I grew up in Winchester it warms my heart (and stomach) to have a great gourmet shop like Nouvelle Maison in "my town" at last. Be prepared to spend a few extra frogskins here as this is a pricey joint but generally worth the price. The selection is quite extensive especially the cheeses and meats. It is well staffed, and the deli staff seems (is) knowledgeable of the products and are willing to help with any questions. I suppose this makes them "mongers" as opposed to just "Joe Schmoes" that work there. I would shy away from the premade sammies and coffee bar as these are things that are best made at home at a fraction of the cost. If you are so desirous however, there is seating at tables near the window for those who choose to meet friends and fancy a chinwag. They do a great job at slicing and wrapping your products. All is very neat and makes for great gifts as everything looks wicked tony in the frog-themed wrapping papers and bags. Admittedly, the wine selection is rather sparse in comparison to the cheeses. Best off hitting up Total Wine in Burlington for proper pairings, etc., and much cheaper price. I have been here a number of times and have always been pleased with my experience. It is fun to look around and browse at the foodstuffs. However, the best part is eating what I bought and making my own high-end hoagies and torpedoes and "sharkootery" boards, etc. Check it out and treat yourself to some quality foodstuffs. Located in the heart of Winchester, a much-needed Cafe and bakery was needed and I must say, Nouvelle did not disappoint to live up to the expectation and much needed void that is "coffee" to the community. By sparing no expense this modern shout out to French decor truly brings a presence of welcome to all who seek good coffee and delicious pastries. The bean of choice sits well with any of the many pastries they provide with macarons to croissants. The only drawback that I can find is that you can never leave this place without spending $30 or more due to wanting so much more than just a coffee. Highly recommend. read more

Nouvelle Maison is the perfect addition to Winchester center! Their croissants are to die for (the ham and cheese is a personal favorite), coffee is great, and the shop itself is filled with fun kitchen additions and perfect gifts. The staff are also incredibly friendly and helpful- something that can be hard to do when the lines out the door on a Saturday morning! Foodies paradise! This specialty grocery store has a cafe in the back and an impressive display of unique cheeses. It's a French delightful experience with an extensive range of organic products. This is the place to curate a beautiful charcuterie board or find all you need to host a wonderful dinner party. I loved seeing the assortment of truffle flavored butter, crisps, oils and tapenades. I picked up a truffelina soft cheese, fig rosemary crackers and an organic rose masala drink mix. High quality ingredients in a beautiful open space. I will definitely be returning soon! read more

Nouvelle Maison is a treat. You walk into a delightful aroma of fresh-baked goods including breads, macarons, danishes, and other French treats. I tried a variety of their offerings and everything was as you'd expect- delicious. The sausage croissant was perfectly flaky, with a savory filling that had just the right amount of seasoning. The lox, served on a freshly baked baguette was flavorful and complemented by a tangy cream cheese. The baguette was everything you'd hope for--crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, making it perfect for any meal. The tomato danish was a delightful surprise--light, savory, and just the right balance of flavor. To drink, I had a hibiscus iced tea and that was average. This place is an authentic French fine provision shop. From artisanal jams and gourmet chocolates to a dedicated section filled with an impressive variety of cheeses, it's a little piece of France right in the heart of town. They also have a curated selection of sake, craft beer, aperitifs, and wines that pair perfectly with any of their baked goods, making it an ideal stop for anyone with a passion for high-quality French food. Parking is super convenient, with plenty of spaces available right by to the Winchester train station. There's an entrance directly from the parking lot into the shop, but that's for employees only. You can walk around to the main entrance. On Sundays, there are no parking restrictions, so you can enjoy a leisurely visit without worrying about time limits. It is a good addition but quite expensive. $16.5 for a ham sandwich is unreasonable - nothing justify such price. I also noted lot of employees (perhaps way too many) and it is not always clear whether the task allocation (or roles) is optimal. That is certainly one of the reasons for having excessively high prices. read more

While we appreciate the attempt to provide locals a tiny version of Eataly - the Italian multistory in one chain - at Nouvelle Madison in Winchester the store's products - pies, breads, thanksgiving day veggies and mashed potatoes were considerably overpriced and of mediocre quality. I don't think we will be regular customers there. I would be surprised if the store survives in 1-2 years. read more

This store fits well in Winchester since it is quite pricey. There are lots of gourmet offerings of French goods. It's a bit disappointing that almost all of the pastries they sell here are made at other local bakeries. There is a small area inside for eating, but it's crowded and loud. We really like the people who staff the coffee and cheese areas. This is exactly what the community needed. Beautiful space and friendly staff. I love the coffee and matcha. Everything is so perfectly curated you can feel the care that went into the selection of everything down to the flavor syrups for the drinks. The pastries are pricey but good and fresh, I've tried almost all of them by now. They also have a good selection of produce, cheese, wine, and little gift items. This place is a gem...a perfectly curated shop for cheese, coffee, bread and other delicious delights!!!! Overall, a 10 and yes, worth a trip to this town to stop in. Some highlights: Staff is friendly and knowledgeable- wine and cheese selections are amazing Got candies and granola too! They also have a little but fabulous produce section, delightful and handy.... nicer than other produce ingredients one may buy nearby. Coffee is great as is their ice teas. baguettes a 10. Now some constructive feedback (lol, At least I think so): they should have a soup and little salad available daily- just goes with all and is surprising they dont offer - like cannot be so difficult, place is huge make one soup a day and a salad? And lastly they are open until 7 on a few nights but still shut down all drinks at 5, its a cafe and coffee shop, coffee and cafe enthusiasts will want an evening or late afternoon coffee- this also makes no sense... these are 3 little things I think are a miss but also can be easily worked out. I saw someone in Paris post a Jambon Beurre and immediately googled where I could find an authentic version around Boston - I'm so glad I found Nouvelle Maison! I went in for the Le Parisian sandwich which was unfortunately but understandably sold out, so I opted for the Le Bayonne. It did not disappoint! I find the price reasonable for the quality ingredients and authentic replication of a Parisian cafe. Can't wait to come back! read more
