frozen white mocha, extra shot
Taylor D.

i'm a big, BIG fan of caffe expresso. easily my favorite coffee shop in SLC. i've been to the sugarhouse location & 9th & 11th location more times than i can say. i'm not in millcreek much, so my first time at this location was yesterday. i was in the area to go antique shopping with my little sister, & i needed to get my SIL's boyfriend a gift for his upcoming birthday. they live down the street from the 9th & 11th shop & frequent it quite a bit. we get him gift cards every year for his birthday & he always loves it. we stopped by yesterday around 11:30 am. the building is a lot bigger than the other locations. the drive through is also a lot more spacious. i got my $20 gift card as well as a frozen white mocha (with an extra shot of course). my sister had an iced coconut latte & a poppyseed muffin. i gave a little bit of a larger tip since i got the gift card, & the barista even thanked me for the tip. that's never happened anywhere else before! the baristas working were so pleasant & seemed like they really knew what they were doing. my drink was absolutely delicious- my first time ever ordering it, totally recommended! the 9th & 11th location is still my spot since i'm over there all the time & they have great baristas there too, but i'll definitely come here whenever i can. the sugarhouse location needs some major work, the baristas there are all newer & don't give much of a shit about their jobs, so the drinks there have been sucking lately. that is NOT the case with the other two locations, just an FYI!

Their coffee was solid but the waffles on a stick shine as a novelty that are also delicious. It's easy to love a waffle that's actually convenient to eat. If you're not specifically looking for coffee then I would definitely suggest The Szuri Slurrie that's a blended fruity lemonade. Everyone in the shop is super friendly and happy to help. The decor is clean and the view is actually fantastic. For a shop on the bottom floor you get to watch trains pass by and stare at the wasatch range. I'll definitely be passing back through, as the owner is always looking for new flavors and perfecting his craft.

I enjoyed our coffee, but what really stood out were the waffles in a stick and hospitality! We met the owner (Steve) and heard his story. Knowing the shop is in honor of his late mother, made the food even better. We were able to try 3 different waffles. As you can see in the pics, we loved them!! Can't wait to return to try the pecan waffles, soup, and grilled cheese. They also serve some kind of non-coffee frozen drink that looked really refreshing! I'd highly recommend giving Geraldine's a try!

They looked pretty legit so we went and checked them out. Walking in, this joint is really neat. There's coffee bags lining the ceiling. There's a couple old chairs that you can chill at in the corner surrounded by plants. The light was shining brightly through the windows. It has a very chill, easy vibe here. We got a couple drinks ordered and a CaBreezy panini started. I got myself an iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. My sister got a hot peppermint mocha. We chilled at the 2 big old chairs while our goodies were being prepared. My drink was so good! I did add a packet of Splenda and some cinnamon to my coffee, so tasty!! I appreciate that my americano wasn't watered down. I didn't get to try my sister's drink but she said it was really good! We did share the CaBreezy panini. It was delicious! It was balanced pesto, balsamic glaze and mozzarella. The tomato was fresh and ripe. The ciabatta was warm and crispy. I probably could have had another half but we are trying to save room for dinner. It was nice chillin here for a bit. Everything was great. The barista that was working did a great job on our drinks and food. Happy I got to check out this local coffee joint on this beautiful Sunday.

The barista was super nice and greeted us as "friends" which I thought was so friendly. My latte was hot and super good! The place got really busy throughout the time that I was there but it seemed like people didn't have to wait too long. There is a lot more seating outside so would be a good spot to go when it's warmer out too!

I ordered the snickers in hopes it would be sweet but not overpowering. Maybe that was my mistake. I saw it and I was already nervous. The entire drink was dark brown. It looked like chocolate milk. Which idk, maybe that's what it's supposed to look like, but oh my goodness I couldn't even taste the extra shot of espresso I ordered. Literally straight hersheys syrup. So I poured half of it out, added some almond milk and it's still pretty concentrated. Idk I'm not the kind of person to veto a place for making one bad drink, but I like my coffee to taste like coffee lol. Hopefully next time I go it does! In other news, the raspberry muffin was yummy!

Immediately I liked the vibe-it's an edgy, totally local and co-created space with folks from the area. This is for real folks with real personalities and a bit of grit. And I like it. The coffee's pretty good too. ;-)
