We came on a weekday night as it was packed with only 1 table left for two. Service was friendly and they are more than willing to serve after you order at the counter. The decor around is nice as well with jars of beans and some holiday decoration. It's located at the corner of a main and side street and it's easy to get to with street parking. 1. Usually, I give myself 3-4 visits before I write a review. But I cannot bring myself to come back! I visited about a month ago...Nov 2020. I got my usual order at any coffee shop - a small latte. I was surprised with the taste - it was sooo off and odd. My first reaction was, "ugh, it tastes like cough medicine". So I asked the barista to re-make it. But it was no better. I felt like I threw away 5$. I try not to write harmful reviews as I know small businesses depend on helpful reviews, so I hope this comes off as honest. Now, this establishment has been around for a long time so they are doing something right. So, once I get the courage to come back hopefully my latte will be better. read more

We came here for some tea and dessert after having dinner nearby. I had a cup of a hibiscus tea from Harney and Sons called Grandma's Garden. I also shared a slice of pumpkin pie. Great drinks made with love. Points to the owners too. Didnt want to get involved in what was supposed to be private conversation but I really appreciated overhearing the owner respectfully speaking up in support of BLM to a customer (maybe her friend?) Who was bent on saying "when people say defund the police that hurts some people's feelings". This place is great to sit and chill! Their latte is alright with oat milk. The oat milk taste watered down. But their desserts are wonderful! Not overly sweet! Cute little corner café looks inviting and cozy upon entering. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Various selection of ready to eat foods like muffins, bagels, pastries, and cakes. They also offer pre-made foods that can be quickly heated up and plated without too much fuss, like paninis, waffles, and Table 87 pizza (pre-made by the local pizzeria, frozen and baked, upon request, at the café). I first ordered the Tuscan Panini, but the counter girl said they ran out, so I then ordered the Siciliano Panini and asked to have the sun-dried tomato spread replaced by a pesto spread. The counter girl said they couldn't make the paninis to order because they were pre-made. All they did was heat them up. The Siciliano Panini was served hot and toasty. Lots of flavor, but extremely salty. This could be due to the prosciutto in the sandwich, which is what the counter girl suspected when I mentioned the saltiness to her, but I think it might be the combination of ingredients. My friend's waffle was served hot and crispy, and topped with strawberries and bananas. The strawberries were not exactly cut fresh, but they weren't saucy or preserved, either. The only way to describe them is "wilted". She left most of them on the plate. The bananas were cut fresh and complimented the waffles well. If you're looking for made to order foods, this is not the place for you. Their food options involve very little or no cooking. The only things really made to order are coffees and teas. Almost everything you order will be served on a disposable vessel whether you are eating it there or taking it to go. Our coffees were served in paper cups and my friend's waffle was served on a paper plate. Only my panini was served in a reusable plastic basket. What this place is really good for is the laid back atmosphere of a traditional café where you can just hang out and chat with a friend. Very nice cafe spot, however, it can be hit or miss. Depending on who makes your latte or cappuccino it may or may not be good. Some don't know how to froth and they overdo it with milk to the degree that it tastes like you're drinking warm milk and not a latte or cappuccino or macchiato. The seating is great and the cafe looks nice and clean. That's about it. I'm not sure if there's much to be said about the service. The server/barista greets you with a "you can only sit here for an hour and a half." I understand that a busy cafe is allowed to have that policy but when it's your first visit and the barista says that to you curtly, it comes off like "get the f-- out of here." It isn't what I'd call a warm greeting. I sat down thinking "I need to hurry up and get the hell out of here." Then the quality of the coffee wasn't anything to write home about. I asked for an espresso drink. I ended up getting a regular drip coffee. Then I ordered a dessert item. Tried to eat it with the plastic cutlery. They might as well have served me a brick. The thing was rock solid. No utensil on God's good earth would've helped you. I would've dismissed the poor service if the coffee/food was at least decent. I have a mixed feeling with this place. First of all they have good selection of coffee and iced drinks. Love the fact that you can customize your drinks. Second, their baked goods were pretty good. I have tried their waffles and it was great. Made to your order. I had their almond croissant and it was tasty. Their paninis and wraps were okay. I dont think they make them there. As for drinks, i love their hazelnut coffee. I try to balance my coffee intakw now and limit sugar if not omiting them. Now here is the fun part. About a month a go or so they promoted their waffles and one of the waitress said it was $3. I came with bf and his fam so each of us ordered waffles. Some with just strawberries, some with nutella. The bill came to around $40ish and it was shocking so apparwntly they charged the toppings. We werent informed but they apologized. Next week we came back and the price went up for the waffle. I noticed that they never put the price of their waffle on their menu or on the board. I mean i wont mind paying $6 or $7 for a full waffle but yea i would prefer if they put the price. I mean its not like im ordering a special price Maine lobster. And whats funny is their 20% gratuity for party of 5 or more. Um last time i went to a proper restaurant, they only charge 18% for party of 6 or more. SIX. Imagine that. Very good coffee and desserts. However I don't like how whenever I try to order at the counter and they tell me to sit down and they'll bring a menu. No point in that if I just want something small which I can order myself so I don't have to pay so much service fees and tip. I absolutely adore this place! It's been in Bayridge forever and I hope it stays that way. Super convenient for me because I live across the street. So many beautiful people go in and out of this place. The employees are always nice and full of joy. Every single time I've went there an employee has treated me with respect and given me their complete attention! It's somewhat spacious and definitely cozy. Prices aren't that bad. I usually get an iced coffee that's 3 dollars that tastes great every time! When summertime comes around there's plenty of seats outside as well. I keep trying this place and it keeps having truly awful coffee. I live across the street, so obviously I want to love it. But when you order a drink that is described as "pumpkin and cinnamon syrup, espresso, topped with whipped cream and nutmeg" it should at least taste like those flavors and have whipped cream on top. The milk is way too hot, there's no whipped cream, and it doesn't taste like pumpkin or cinnamon. Just burned terrible espresso and kinda rotten milk. Came here wanting something sweet on a chilly day and decided to dine here for a quiet chat with my friend. The cake display looked so good, it was tempting me to order all of them. My friend choose a Cherry Chai tea with caramel and whipped cream, while I had the White Mocha Latte. Also tried their carrot cake which also came with whipped cream. It was Friday night at around 11 PM. I'm thinking what place is open at this time, but Caffe Cafe was opened till 1 AM! It's a great place to have a conversation with your friend with some drinks & dessert late night. It's right on the corner, small, cozy, cute little place. They got the cutest cups/souvenirs located around the cafe and they are for sale. The place was still pretty pack at night with a nice mature quiet crowd. The entire time I only heard my friend's voice and the background music, very dreamy feel here. They have table service, we ordered: 1. Cappuccino - Decent. 2. Cheesecake - Very good lots of whipped cream! 3. Lemon gelato - Abit too sweet but still good, liked the extra toppings and chilled in a glass. Our drinks & desserts came rather quickly and then they will leave you alone. We were there for a good hour or two. I agree with other yelpers here, with the prices they charge why is it served on plastic plates, utensils, paper cups? Minus 1 star for that. read more

We walked in and instantly got attitude when asking for the table. Then when seated, the waitress was fed up with us before we even ordered. We moved to a bigger table because they seated us at a small one and they began to complain saying it's for 6 not 3. I would totally respect this but before us a couple of 2 sat at the same table with no problems. Probably a friend of the establishment. In addition to all of this, my friend has a gastric disorder and usually carries a gallon of water with him everywhere. My favorite place to get work done outside of the house. A little on the pricier side, but you're getting gourmet drinks - so it's worth it. Plus I usually order one or two things, yet I stay on my laptop for at least two hours. So again, I don't mind paying for that. The ambience is great. It's quiet, the music is always relaxing, and there seems to be a lot of regulars that I see each time I'm there, which is promising! I haven't had much of the food, but it looks great. My only thing that I absolutely hate is that they don't do reusable mugs/cups for folks who stay and drink and work. The paper cups are always way too hot to hold, and very wasteful. I fell in love with the decor and the feel of it, from the homey decorations to the big open window looking out onto the street, and the wicker baskets hanging up on the wall. The menu looks good and the desserts and varieties of coffee drinks are very tempting. But I didn't like the coffee and the chocolate mousse that I got was very cheapish tasting, like something one can buy in a grocery store in a plastic cup. It was too sweet for me, as was the coffee (I forgot what kind I got as it didn't really taste like the flavor it was supposed to. Late Friday nite, my friend & I came here for dessert & coffee. It's located in our 'hood. This place was buzzing with ppl. It was packed inside. There was sidewalk seating available, but I chose to sit inside & there was a 2-seater available. The staff were nice: one waittress and a barista. My friend ordered some special coffee, but the staff didn't want to inform us that they'd have to make a fresh pot. SO...when they served him his Java, they explained what the replacement cup was and had him taste it. If he was not happy, then they'd brew what he initially ordered. Guess what, they had to brew whatever my friend initially ordered. I, on the other hand, ordered an iced coffee flavored with amaretto & coconut ($4) which was sweet & tropical-ly. There weren't many choices of cake/desserts, but plenty of coffee & non-coffee drinks to choose from. We ordered a slice of the chocolate cake (around $4) which was delicious: the cake was moist & crumbly, there's thick layer of ganache, sides were covered with mini-mini chocolate drops, and layered with ganache filling too. I used to come here very often. This is the perfect place to sit at on a cold day with some friends. Its a really cozy environment, the decorations feel home-y. The pace isn't fast at all so this isn't your quick stop for a cup of coffee in the morning, but its really nice for a break from shopping or anything else. Good coffee & desserts. Called up once to ask if they had wifi and they hung up. In terms of aesthetics it has got everything you might want in a cafe. My cappuccino was decent, nothing special - nothing wrong - but it was served in a paper cup. When getting sit down service one might expect a mug...the panini was served on a little Styrofoam plate along with a doily. The doily got soaked in oil and stuck to the sandwich. The muffin - tasty BUT mushy. No one likes a mushy muffin. All in all, a decent place. Avoid the OPEC sandwich. Stick to coffee. Bring a book. Enjoy the feel. read more
