I just finished mine and I'm sitting outside contemplating if I'm going to go back in and get another one lmao! It was so delicious. Very authentic, super refreshing and sweet. The service was great, all the girls greeted me and gave me the best vibes! Perfect snack for the summer days

While the gelato is very good, the reason we (and everyone else who came in after us) were there was for the coffee. We were told that their machine is broken and there's no plan to get a new one. So sad! Everyone that came in asked for the coffee and most of them left without buying anything. I'm sure they're losing a ton of business over this and I feel bad for the girl behind the counter who has to tell everyone no. Hopefully one day they'll replace that machine and I can update my review to a better one.

The gelato is delicious but the outside seating area is absolutely horrendous. There is food trash on the ground, and it overall looks like a condemned beach town after a hurricane blew through. Why would they let it look like this out here?

I am only reviewing this place for its coffee and haven't tried any of their sweets or gelatos. It's a cute coffee shop in a great location at Avalon. I got one esprresso and one cappuccino, and it was cheaper than Starbucks, but had a waaaay better quality.

This is such a cute spot to get gelato in Atlanta on a nice day! There is a little outdoor seating area beside it.

Unlike its pizza counterpart, this cafe isn't great. I found a white hair/thin strand of plastic in my pistachio gelato, the worker also used a dirty spoon to scoop the pistachio so my gelato was mixed with chocolate. The inside is small, looks unkempt and unwelcoming because the lights aren't turned on. It's a shame because the outside of the shop is cute, and the mango and raspberry gelato tasted great the last time I came here but the service doesn't make me want to come back and neither does the price because one small scoop of gelato is already ~$6 which is so overpriced and I can get something better elsewhere.

Wow this is a great hole in the wall, seems like a local staple in the gelato scene. Malachi made my first time here such a great experience!!! We got the pistachio gelato. And we tasted the mint chocolate chip flavor. We got to see how the cannolis were filled and they were made fresh to order! Yum!

Some of the best gelato in Atlanta! The pistachio is a must try and the cookies and cream is divine.

I managed to wobble over to Caffe Antico after stuffing my face across the street with pizza. The first thing you notice when you come in is "NO SAMPLES." Oh gosh. How am I going to make a choice without trying it first? Well, I took a leap of faith, and ordered the strachiatella and the wild cherry armena. The strachiatella was good. It had an almost gritty texture to it, which was kind of odd. The wild cherry aramena was fantastic. Bright cherry flavor. Creamy texture. Not too overpoweringly sweet. It was definitely my favorite of the two.

This place is located right across the street from Antico's pizza so we walked around the area after we had our pizza meal. When we got here, there was a lot of flavors to choose from. Of course, since it's ice cream, you get to sample some of the flavors before actually committing to the purchase of the product. There was one that i saw, it said biscotti. So I typically like biscotti's too so I ordered it. It was actually just cookies and cream. hahaha. The ice cream here wasnt bad, but it wasnt the best Ice cream I had either.

After you snag some phenomenal pizza at Antico, walk across the street to Caffe Antico to grab some dessert! Their gelato is delicious. It is a bit more like ice cream than classic gelato, but I'm not complaining! They have a variety of flavors, and according to the friendly workers, they often get new flavors! I had their cherry one which was smooth but full of actual cherries. It was a tasty way to finish the night after Antico pizza. The outside seating area is beautiful. They have many places to sit with friends and chat outside. We sat in comfy wicker chairs under an umbrella. There's also another area with a large television playing. The NBA Finals were on when I was there, so it was great fun to chat with friends while glancing over to the game. Not to mention, we could all enjoy the beautiful weather that night since the area is so open! Be careful though, if it is a rainy night, there's only little seating inside. There are those covered tables outside too, but you'd probably still get wet. I love this place and would gladly return!

After an absolutely stellar experience at neighboring and co-owned Antico Pizza, I was pretty disappointed with my lackluster follow up at Caffe Antico. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Stop and think for a moment about the greatest part of any ice cream shop? I'll be surprised if you had to think about it for more than a few seconds, and your obvious answer was the samples. It just makes sense, and for whatever reason, Caffe Antico has decided to implement a no sample policy. It's complete nonsense and honestly detracted a bit from the whole experience. No Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $5.00 got me a somewhat disappointingly small single scoop of biscotti and cream gelato, and had it been a penny over $5.00 I would have been irked, but this was, begrudgingly, reasonable given the price point of gelato these days. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? The gelato at Caffe Antico was good, but it didn't blow me away. I'm not sure if there was a refrigeration issue, but my scoop of gelato was half melted by the time I walked out the door, which made for some urgent eating. The flavors were there, but weren't as rich as I've had elsewhere. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Caffe Antico is a semi-decent top off after some nearby pizza, but as a stand-alone gelato shop it's weak. No Star Granted.

    Afogato

Just go there! Get the afogatto. It was the most delicious thing ever. Never tasted anything like it and I've had it in other places. Go! Go! Go! There's no need to write more because it was perfect. Go! Go! Go!

While we were waiting, we watched one of the girls behind the counter making the waffle cones, which excited me even more. I sampled the bananas foster and fell in love. So I got that with a scoop of the coffee on a waffle cone and the flavor combo was amazing. So good! The flavor options were so unique but there were the classic favorites as well. If you can't choose, they offer a 6 scoop flight for $17 and I was considering that option for a bit. Service was so friendly and quick considering how busy it was.

Walking around Ponce City Market I saw -- or, rather, I was led -- to the gelato stand. I spent summers in my teens in the ice cream and froyo world but the richness of gelato missed me. No more. Given a choice I'll always opt for the dense, silky stuff.* Because of my past I am not one of those who saunters up to the counter and asks for a sample of every flavor. If that's you, stop it. It's annoying. I had a few questions and the kind lady behind the counter was quick to answer them -- she even tried to get me to have some samples but my rule is steadfast. I told her about it and she laughed, nodding knowingly. I love that the menu contains all the allergen info so you can make the best decision for your tastebuds and body. Despite being iffy on milk sometimes I went for a scoop of nutella and a scoop of coffee. Of course the flavors blended beautifully. Of course the textures added to the experience. Of course I did my best to savor eating it rather than racing through every bite. Of course I wanted more when I was done... but there was more dessert to be had. *Experience with churning ice cream stays with you.

I can tell you they were wrong. The sandwich contained a great portion of meat. You can see from my photos that it was a substantial portion of meat. The meat itself was tender as can be and was good Italian mortadella that almost melts in your mouth. It also had excellent pesto sauce on the sandwich and some of the best cheese around. I just got back from 2 months in Italy and this sandwich was as good as anything I had there. While I was there I had to try one of everything so for pastry I tried a sfogliata which is a multi layered pastry filled with a vanilla custard. This was either brought in directly from Italy or made by an Italian chef. It tasted just like it should. Then I tried the gelato. I had the stracciatella which was very good. Just two notes here though 1) the gelato temp is too cold. You need to let it warm a little before you eat it to get the full flavor 2) the pistacchio gelato served is bright green. This is not a sign of good pistacchio. Good pistacchio should be more of a khaki brownish green color Then I tried the espresso. It tasted great It was very nice inside.
