I've been wanting to check this place out since Ive first noticed it. The outside appearance looks so enticing with the picture of the menu and the cheap 10 to 15 aud meals. What makes it more inviting is the crowd of people entering the place. They must be doing something right to make it that popular. We ordered seafood platter, spaghetti bolognese and iced chocolate drink. The iced chocolate was served to us immediately. It looks so fancy and the taste is actually yummy. A good first impression. While waiting, I get to observed the place more closely. It's a minimalistic themed place and despite being crowded, they get to maintain the cleanliness of the place. So we've waited and waited. It's been 10 minutes and still no food on the table. Me and hubby considered the busy-ness of the place. I just thought, might as well wait and have good quality food instead of a fast but cheapo finish. Our iced chocolate was starting to melt and that's when I began counting the time. Approximately 15 to 20 minutes passed before food arrived (Iced chocolate no more lol lol). But we had plenty of time so it was alright. Mind you, the presentation was impressive with the seafood platter. The spaghetti bolognese looks simply appetizing too. Unfortunately, the taste wasnt at par to the look. My hubby was really disappointed with the food. You see he loves his spaghetti, and this one frustrated him soooo much. LOL He finds it bland and taste like minced meat caserrole or something. He just can't taste the sphagetti-ness of its sauce. I tried it and it was ok but it reminds me more of a Villie's meat pie filling than spaghetti. Also, the sauce is not your creamy pasta but a watery one. The seafood platter is not bad though but not outstanding either. The ingredients are just the usual fish n chips taste--- not oily but bland. The garlic prawn is ok. I like the pepper squid-- just the right saltiness to it. I like the mayo dip and the salad. Like i said, it's ok but not something I would crave for the second time. If I'll summarize our experience here. It's not too bad compared to the usual fastfood. They have big servings but food is more visually appealing than its taste. If we'll come back, I would probably try their steak. But hubby was pissed with their spaghetti (lol) so it wont happen anytime soon. read more

I went here yesterday for a coffee with a client and I was disappointed. Let's start with the good. The coffee I had was nice. The waitress was pleasant and attentive, but then there weren't many customers. I've previously been here and the food is not bad and generally good value. Now for the bad. We arrived at about 10:30am and they don't open until 11am. Given the shops are open and they were busy, I'm not sure why they wouldn't open a little earlier to capture morning foot traffic. As it was, Cibo was busy and we would have gone there except they don't have high chairs and I had my 2 year old with me. So, after waiting for them to open, we took a seat upstairs on the bench so my daughter could sit there. I'm disgusted to say, the upholstery on the bench seats was horribly torn in numerous places. I get that running a cafe has some hefty expenses, but to me, that is something that should be fixed as a priority, or block that area off. Next, I had the pleasure of using their bathroom. Perhaps they could also fix the broken taps and fill the soap dispensers. I'm pretty sure Bunnings sells tapware in sets of 2 for $20. Just saying. I realise I'm being very critical here, but this cafe exists in a busy precinct with a lot of competition. I feel they will follow the Churchill Centre Caffe Acqua, and close down, if they don't improve their customers dining experience. Needless to say, I'll bring a booster seat and go to Cibo next time. read more

Cafe Acqua at Elizabeth is a product of its environment. The standards of this cafe in North Adelaide or Norwood would have locals shunning it, and it would certainly crash and fail. But in Elizabeth, it is a welcome change from food court rubbish, or the culinary suicide of McDonalds and KFC. The decor is modern and pleasant, the tables and floor are clean. The food is average, but not bad. Same with the coffee and tea. Nothing bad to say, but nothing pops out as showing exceptional flair to catch a foodies eye or palate. It relies on "all you can eat" promotions to fill the restaurant on slow nights, and for Sunday breakfasts. As already stated, a product of its environment. It does have the advantage of being surrounded by sub-par chain food outlets, and an American pub opposite with a reputation for awful food. Compared to these options, Cafe Acqua does well. An example of the standards is a coffee a friend ordered, the ceramic mug sported a deep chip right where you place your mouth (steel teeth are all the rage in the north it seems....) There is no way the barista could not have seen it when making the beverage, and when I returned it to the bar, rather than make a replacement, the coffee was poured into a replacement cup and handed back. I doubt the mug was thrown out... So, if in the Elizabeth City Centre, you certainly can do worse. Just don't expect much, and you'll be happy. read more

We only ate here to get an $11 movie ticket with the meal so I wasn't expecting much... I had the porterhouse which was on special for $15 and it was quite nice for the price. The place is done up quite nicely but suffers from its Elizabeth clientele. Service was slow but all in all, if your after a cheap lunch and movie ticket it's worth a visit. read more

Elizabeth Shopping Centre wasn't always the nicest, looks and people wise, but since undergoing a huge upgrade a couple of years ago now, I don't mind going there for a few of the different shops and eating outlets. Caffe Acqua is situated outside with over 200 seats, 100 which are alfresco in a semi closed in area. The inside decor is lovely, bright, fresh, modern and oozes aqua and white colours. The food is quite good, similar to a Caffe Primo, but with real $9.90 meals! The staff are friendly and dress appropriately (unlike some Primo staff with extremely short black skirts and low cut tops). When visiting Elizabeth Centre, stop for lunch at Caffe Acqua, and even the rest of the food court is very different, cheap and varied. read more

Average food, average coffee. I'm pushing it giving this place three stars, but the service is pretty okay, so we will stick with three. The coffee is nothing to rave about, but it's not the worst I've had I suppose. The food is okay-ish. The fact that it's edible immediately puts it above Cafe Primo IMO. if you're stuck between Macca's, this or KFC, and you want something not junk food, then this place is an option. The meals are pretty cheap, but you kinda get what you pay for. read more

Food was nice although the service not so much. At the end of the meal i ordered a cafe latte, the young girl making the coffee made a cappuccino and when i corrected her she insisted that i just have the cappuccino. Train your staff to take orders correctly, satisfy the customer and actually learn how to make coffee read more

very good service, there is a guy that works behind the counter that has worked there for years now and he is always very upbeat and happy, 10/10 for custmoer service there, the food is pretty good too and awesome coffee. and i have to agree with Laura F. the staff are dressed appropriately, it looks like a cafe and not a brothel lol read more
