However recently I have developed this hankering for going into a random cafe for breakfast (which probably came about through my time in Melbourne) and when I was in Adelaide recently I decided to make this place my first stop. I must admit that I was quite impressed. The big breakfast was not only cheap but pretty filling as well. The staff were really cool, and they made a pretty good pot of tea as well. Okay, it isn't all that fancy, but for a quick bite on your way to work for a decent price, it isn't all that bad.

Ok, so that was one of the first things I heard from another customer (complaining to a waitress), within minutes of sitting down with my best friend for coffee here. Should I be careful in talking with the staff here? Is this how staff typically talk to their customers? I'm a bit wary of this shop now. After starting my day here at The Coffee Spot, I was expecting a great kick-start to my day. It wasn't really all that. I got what I needed out of it though. The carrot cake was nice, but I've had much better cake put in my mouth at other coffee spots. Man...I'm starting to sound like I can afford coffee every morning. What am I turning into? I was expecting banana bread, but they don't sell that here, so I was sucked into trying their carrot cake. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. It was just your typical carrot cake, not as exciting as you might think. I moved on to the next shop as quickly as I gulped down their cafe latte.

On the 4 side of 3 1/2, This place is tiny, with tiny tables and a tiny upstairs restaurant, with a decor made up largely of dark woods and chrome this place is so 90's America I feel like I'm in an episode of Frasier. The coffee is made well with average beans, possibly trying a new blend this place could improve (With Koko black next door they should definitely consider it). Fresh cakes and sandwiches are made everyday plus they have all day breakfast - all day breakfast is the best thing in the world... It just is. Thursday night last week we decided to sit in the cafe for a cup of tea after we had been out for dinner. It was really lovely to sit and relax, and the cup of tea was lovely. They served the tea with a bone china cup and saucer :) which always makes tea taste better :) The coffee that my Dad had was really good also :) I will certainly go here agian next time Mum and Dad stay here :)

The interior is large, filled with dark leather furniture. It's a good cool place to be on a hot day, to drink a coffee and watch whatever sport is playing on the TV. In terms of nearby cafes, it doesn't have much atmosphere, feeling more like a hotel than a cafe. I was very impressed with the coffee here, as I asked the waitress to make it cooler than usual, and she said "About 50 degrees?" Talking in degrees at least means she knows what she's doing with the milk. She came out with a perfectly heated coffee that I could drink immediately and not start sweating. This may appall some coffee drinks, but I like mine at any temperature. Heaven help the person who throws away my coffee because it's gone cold. I had my coffee with a tasty banana and caramel tart as their $6.50 deal. Completely satisfying.

The cakes and pastries all looked so fresh and inviting and the recipients of my takeaway cakes attest to the fact they were as delicious as they looked! I also witnessed a few examples of great customer service to other customers, whilst I was in there. I was greeted so warmly and the staff members were smiling and friendly. The decor is light and airy, stylish and clean and there is ample parking nearby. I think it would be a perfect place to refuel after a beachside bike ride!

I visited delicia acai for the first time today and ordered the specialty protein bowl. I found…read morethat the texture and taste of the smoothie was fantastic, the acai tasted super fresh and I was pleased to hear that the franchise source their own acai which is locally grown! I was very relieved to hear this as I am very attentive to my health and diet and it is rare I find clean food on the go. The nut butter used was amazing and generally the serving of the chia seeds, goji berries and pistachios on top of the bowl was extremely generous. I was super pleased overall and on a side note would like to suggest the brand try introducing more protein bowls perhaps using their gourmet protein powders! Definitely will be coming back to try their protein pancakes xx
