Staying nearby, we were looking for a dependable place to grab a quick coffee before starting our day. Located on the corner of one of the less busy intersections, but not too far from the Duomo, this place is terrific. They open earlier than other joints, which is a plus for tourists getting an early start on their day. The baristas are all extremely accommodating, and very welcome to tourists. Whether you order a coffee at the table or takeaway, we hit this place up each morning. Pastry selection is good, especially considering that breakfast is not a main focus in Italy. I ate here with my family and the service was great along with the food. There was something for everyone and the food tasted great. We sat outside and it was a little chilly so they turned the heater on which was extra nice. I would highly recommend trying this place out. My son (picky eater) ordered a fruit salad, my daughter ordered a wrap with avocado and my husband and I got the pasta, minestrone soup and crepes. We're well acquainted with majority of the staff, at this point, & always have been greeted with nothing but smiles. We dropped in for a light dinner and had a wonderful time. We found it to friendly, reasonably priced, and the service was wonderful. The risotto was good, my wife's salad was huge and made to order, both just 6€. If you are looking for the white tablecloth and crystal experience, go elsewhere - but if you are hungry tourists like us looking for a quiet table on the street (or inside as well), try this place. This restaurant is right down the street from Gonzaga University and they have a nice mixture of everything that you need for a light lunch and afternoon fresh juice or pastries and crepes. I love the mason jar's that they serve their fresh juice in and they're wide variety on their menu very reasonable prices. After spending all morning on a walking tour of Florence and the academia gallery my husband and I were exhausted and needed a place where we can sit, refresh and refuel. We stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe as we were making our way back to the main square. As soon as we entered we were greeted by friendly staff. The mood was warm and bright and was complimented by the lively music playing on the radio. I was famished and enjoyed a bowl of penne Alla'abbarratta (sp?) which was basically a bowl of mildly spicy penne pasta. On this sunny yet brisk 37 degree weather this is just what the doctor ordered. My husband had a hearty bowl of Farro soup which I tasted and really enjoyed the flavor. We ended with a double shot of espresso for him and a tall cappuccino for myself and a plate of tiramisu which was to die for. Very happy with our experience overall and grateful for this respite in the midst of all of the tours were participating in, in Florence today. Thank you guys! Keep up the good work..!! read more

This place is a joke. After an early morning visit of the academia we ordered two cappuccinos and two fresh squeezed orange juices at their street side terrace. This was in the summer and they had fresh oranges displayed on the counter. A few minutes later they bring 2 decent coffees but the 2 orange juices were obviously from a store bought pasturized bottle. When we told this to the waiter he actually had the audacity to lie to our faces and tell us that that is how the local oranges taste at this time of the year. We had fresh orange juice everyday during our 2 week stay and none tasted like the stuff you find at Wallmart or more precisely Conad in this instance. read more

This place is amazing!! It is owned by the nicest family who space a great deal of care into the establishment itself and the food. The pastries are delicious and hand picked by the family to get the best that each vendor has to offer. The food is delicious and the coffee is superb. They make a very famous chocolate cake that if you are lucky enough they will have at the time of year you go in. I felt so welcomed in here and attended to. Will definitely be back again. read more

This cafe is terrible. They gave us poorly mixed drinks, a cold crepe, and bad wine--not cheap, actual FERMENTED wine. Don't come here.
