Sometimes a simple recipe is all you need. Panini was really good. Italian sausage + spinach + mozzarella. Particularly however they sauté the spinach. Garlicky but not overwhelming. Great views of the Santa Maria del Fiore ! Recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice to allow it. I got the house wine at the time but can't recall the name. The wine was good if you prefer white wine would definitely go back, great views and low prices. read more

Absolutely fell in love with this restaurant. Eating in the shadow of the Duomo was a once in a lifetime experience. The food was excellent as well as the wine. The only good thing about this place is the view. How could you go wrong with eating next to the famous Duomo in Florence. The food was fine i guess... Didn't really blow me away. I tried to feed a pigeon with one leg and one of the waiters rudely said. "hey that's not allowed" I was kind of put off by that. Idk he could've been nicer abt it. Nice views. Mid food. Great spot to grab lunch or dinner since it is so close to the Duomo, you have a great view and sometimes they even have entertainers on the patio! One day there was a violinist, an opera like singer, a guitar player etc.. The best treat of them all was our server Jenny! She helped us out every visit, was so kind & remembered our drinks.. Not only that, but she made sure no one tried bothering us for money (it rarely happens in Florence, but still made sure to look out so that was appreciated). Unfortunately, I did not take pictures this time! But the drinks are great.. if you want something light there's Cacio con Le Pere (Pears with Cheese & Honey). They'll also give you snacks for ordering drinks as we did that one night as well! My favorite thing was the Ravioli di Burrata Al Tartufo di Stagione (basically Truffle Ravioli) but it was perfectly cooked, honestly the first we had on this trip! It was small but VERY filling, I had to give the last one to my boyfriend. I can't even remember what he ordered because I'm writing this review a week later, but either way.. We were walking around the Duomo area waiting for our hotel room to be ready and came upon this place. We sat outside in the shadows of the magnificent Duomo and shared a pasta pomodoro and an eggplant parm panino. Both were simple but absolutely delicious. The server was lovely and chatted with us in Spanish for a while. They have a great menu that's pretty well priced, which is surprising considering the area is uber-touristy. read more

This place is a tourist trap. Food is just OKAY, while prices are decently high. Out of all the meals I had in Italy, this was the most disappointing. It isn't necessarily bad, but it isn't up to par with other options nearby. The truffle gnocchi tasted comparable to the dried/bagged versions I get in American grocery stores. We started with a nice rose then chips and fried olives stuffed with meat, all very good. For lunch we had eggs great choice for 9euro. This was a ton of food, kids loved it and the food was so fresh. We also had eggplant parmigiana and it rocked. Service was exceptional and no "service charge". 3.5 STARS Caffe' Duomo was one of the first restaurants I went to in Florence. It was extremely convenient as it's in the middle of all the hustle and bustle and it was also a stones throw from my apartment. My friends and I had heard from other students in our program that Caffe' Duomo offered a 10 euro special that includes salad & bruschetta, lasagna or spaghetti bolognese, and a glass of red or white wine. For 10 euros, that's such a steal! The salad was just okay (I always thought it was weird that they added corn) but the bruschetta was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. I always ordered the spaghetti bolognese and they give you a very generous portion of pasta however, the sauce was just okay for me. The wine they offer as part of the special is their house wine but it's still very good - get their red! Another thing I liked about Caffe' Duomo was their prime location; it really can't get any better dining right next to the beautiful Duomo (plus it's the perfect location for some people watching). Service was always fast and efficient. The first time I came here they gave us free shots of limoncello! If you're on a budget or a study abroad student, this is a great place to grab some dinner. read more

This place had the most unauthentic Italian food i've tasted in Florence so far. I got spaghetti with red sauce. The sauce was bright orange and tasted like it was straight out of a spaghettios can. My cousin got pasta carbonara and it was extremely eggy and salty. Ick! My taste buds are temporarily scarred and i can't wait for my next meal so I can forget that horrible experience. Horrible experience. While the man who seated us was decent enough, the man who came after him genuinely ruined my afternoon. Unfortunately I did not get his name, but for the sake of calling him out, he is middle-aged, shorter and quite plump. When I politely asked for a beverage menu he ignored me, refusing to make eye contact and seemed to only want to interact with my boyfriend despite the fact I continued to speak to him. I thought maybe it was just a joke (though a terrible one) and shrugged it off... but it continued. I addressed him again with my order and there was NO acknowledgement. Once again, he turned to my boyfriend asking him something like "is this okay?" while gesturing at me like I needed permission. I have NO idea what this utter disrespect was about. Perhaps because I am a woman or because I am Asian (my boyfriend is white), but I do not need to point out that this behavior is unacceptable. He interacted normally with two white women who came in, which makes me think this was about race. The only time this waiter acknowledged me at all was when my boyfriend was in the bathroom and it was clear that I would be the one paying. To top it all off, one of the other waiters was flinging bottle caps at pigeons. What a bunch of jerks. Service aside, the coffee was nothing special and pricier than other cafes nearby. When I saw the bill, I also felt that they were charging us more than the price I'd seen on the menu. I would have checked but I just wanted to get out of there and suspected the waiter would just ignore me again anyway. Awful experience. AVOID THIS PLACE. There are other cafes by the Duomo that are better than this pile of crap. Give your business to people who deserve it. read more

What a pleasure to sit out doors in the summer late evening after the heat of the sun (92 that day) has cooled a little. You can listen to street music playing (at least when we were there), sip wine, watch the tourist stroll but in this busy hub, and enjoy wonderful pasta, salads, and dessert. It was casual and comfortable. The music made it incredible. Hubby ate spaghetti with meat balls. Traditional of what we Americans think of as Italian and quite yummy. The prosciutto and melon fresh and tasty. We loved our experience there - the price point was good. So, gave it 4 stars because of small things like the bread was just ok.
