Nice interior with air conditioning! For menu you'll scan a QR code. Nice selection of food options. Our server was fantastic and the food was excellent!

Despite the long line, it was just a good sandwich, not an amazing sandwich. More salty and fatty than flavorful, so pair with drink that will balance it all out. Still, worth a visit if you don't mind a wait.

Wow! These sandwiches were impressive. We got there early to beat the line and a huge line formed behind us. Ordering was easy since the menu was outside and they had a worker handing out paper menus for those behind us. We got a table upstairs and enjoyed our yummy sandwiches! Highly recommend for a great sandwich stop!

First, don't be intimidated by the line - it is well-facilitated, moves fast, and just know all of it is WORTH IT. I didn't even think I was a fan of Italian sandwiches like this, no matter how viral I've seen these shops get. I assumed huge sandwiches on thick bread were great for photos but just a few bites. So I guess I can call this place life-changing because it completely turned these initial thoughts upside down. I finished my entire sandwich and continue to think about it even after leaving Florence. I opted for one on the specials list: "La Signoria" which included -Mortadella al tartufu (truffle mortadella) -Pecorino al tartufu (truffled pecorino cheese) -Rucola (rocket salad/arugula) My god...it all somehow went together perfectly. To me schicciata really is better than focaccia. Please try when and if you are in Florence. You'll most certainly not be disappointed. P.S. I LOVE their staff- regardless of their constant crowds and the slight chaos on the street due to the queue/line, everyone I encountered was so kind and seemed genuinely happy to welcome all of us visiting from across the world.

If youre looking for a sandwich that will surely please your tastebuds, this place is the spot! Ive tried a few of these sandwich shops around the area and I' Girone de' Ghiotti stands out on top. From the perfectly baked bread that is warm, a crunchy outer and isnt dense, to the fantastic combination of ingredients, I was enjoying every bit (and/or bite) of my sandwich. I ordered the La Rossa and wow my tastebuds were dancing. The prosciutto, truffle cream, brie and arugula made for such a delicious sandwich. Ugh, I cant wait to try more. I ended up finding a seat at the narrow and small bar area along the cramped space where you order/pay for your order. There is more seating upstairs but I didnt get to see it. I didnt mind that small area to eat since eating a sandwich isnt very space-consuming.

Consider yourself an early investor if you visit now! No lines during off hours (I went around 1:30pm on a weekday). The sandwiches challenge, if not surpass those of All'Antico Vinaio. The bread is thinner and crispier, housing delicious fillings, so if this sounds like your type of sando, definitely worth a stop! The old man (who I am assuming is the owner) is very patient and kind. I got the XYZ, filled with freshly-sliced meat.

My social media algorithm was really blessing me with the best spots in Florence. Florence is well known for its sandwiches and I'm so glad L' Girone de' Ghiotti was recommended. MUST visit when you're in Florence. Easily one of the best things I ate on my trip! It's a small, very busy shop with no seating, but don't let the line scare you away. It's 100% worth the wait. Honestly, with so many sandwich options, the line just gave me time to study the menu. You can build your own sandwich or choose from one of their masterpieces. The bread is unreal. La Rossa: prosciutto, brie, truffle cream, and arugula... what more is there to say? DELICIOUS. Very rich. My friend got the Suicida, but subbed the porchetta for salame... that was the moveeeee. That spicy sauce was next level. Grab your sandwich and go explore or sit by a statue & people-watch :)

Sandwich: 1- Suicida amazing 2- La Rossa good Nice decor was great! Man semi bald making a sandwich- Rude.

AMAZING! Don't miss this place. NOT a tourist trap! There will be a line but it moves quicker than you think and 100% worth it!

This is the probably the best sandwich of my life! I had this spot bookmarked as literally one of the only spots I needed to try in Florence, and it did not disappoint. The line seemed long but honestly moved so fast - we were in within 15 minutes. I built my own sandwich with salami, truffle spread, arugula, and sundried tomatoes. This was all stuffed inside their perfectly crispy, fluffy, yet light bread. It was SO FREAKING GOOD. The seasoning and slight saltiness of the bread had such good flavor, and the salami was so much better than many of the other salamis I tried - great flavor and not too fatty. I liked how the arugula added some freshness, and their truffle spread is DELICIOUS. You must get that if anything! They have seating both downstairs and upstairs, and we found a table upstairs to devour our sandwiches. We all agreed this was one of the best spots we went to all throughout Italy - so I'd highly recommend!

We saw the line coming back from the Duomo one day and looked up this popular sandwich shop. We arrived at noon on a Tuesday and it took about 30 minutes to get to the front. We ordered the La Signoria special (mortadella) which is served in half and more than enough for two for lunch, plus aperol spritz at $5 each so total $23 usd. The foccacia was crispy yet soft, mortadella cut thin, with truffle pecorino cheese and arugula. We ended up eating it standing up a few blocks away but it didn't take long to devour. The hype is worth it for this Tuscan sandwich!

Waited over an hour in the pouring rain and would do all over again in a heartbeat. The sandwiches from I' Girone de' Ghiotti were just that good. At an incredible price, everything just has the perfect balance. From the freshness of the ingredients, to the crunch of the bread, to the fast paced environment with a line down the street. These are the types of atmospheres you fly across the Atlantic to experience when visiting Italy. Don't care how long the wait is, because it is worth it. Buckle up with your patience and have the best sandwich of your life.

Absolutely lives up to the hype. It was the only viral place we went to that had a long line. We got there right when it opened at 11:30 and probably waited about 25-30 mins. The La Cignala was so good. The boar salami was delicious and the focaccia bread was thin and crispy. I struggle to eat bread and this was really light. I'd probably add pesto next time just to give it a little more moisture. My friend had the La Batigol and loved it. The sweet onion cream was so good. Definitely worth the wait and lived up to the hype!

Long line but it was very orderly and moved quickly.

November 9, 2024 2:30PM…read more It does appear they have two stalls on the same street that you can order from. One side seemed to have more alcohol on display and the side I was on was more sandwich focused, but I'm pretty sure you can order the same things from both windows. Initially I was going to get the 21 - Fresh Sausage and Eggplant because I'm an eggplant lover... the lady at the counter was kind enough to let me know that the fresh sausage is actually rare, uncooked sausage and gave me a small piece to try. I was getting ready to get on a train that day and didn't want something that might not sit well with me, so I moved on to number 27 spicy salami and cream cheese. My partner got the number 1, ham, cream cheese and rocket salad. Both are very good sized and oh so delicious. The line moved quickly, so many options for decision paralysis. It would be the third sandwich spot on our trip, and we had been to a couple of bangers beforehand that set the bar. I was a bit worried that we were getting lured into a tourist trap because of the restaurant being by the duomo, but it was located behind it where there was much less foot traffic compared to the front facing Piazza Santa Maria Novella. We arrived around noon on a Sunday. My husband and I arrived early enough to beat the lunch crowd, so we had no wait at all. By the time we finished our sandwiches, we saw the queue out the door. There were a couple of high tables inside the restaurant, but there was more seating outdoor. I really liked how you can customize your sandwich the way you wanted down to the bread, meats, cheeses, and toppings. They didn't only have schiaccata bread, which I thought was cool. You had other options of breads like ciabatta. Panini Toscani allows you to sample their various meats, such as porchetta, proscuitto, mortadella, etc. As someone who doesn't eat pork, one of the employees had me sample their various cheeses instead. Since I've been eating schiaccati the past 2 days, I stuck to the same bread as a baseline and added soft cheese, arugula, spicy marinara, eggplant, and sundried tomatoes. I enjoyed my sandwich very much, and the crunch on the bread was everything.

The exterior is small and charming, with a line spilling out the door, while the interior is cozy and bustling with limited seating. The vibe is lively, welcoming, and very interactive, with opportunities to taste their various meats and cheeses. There's Italian and English menus to peruse before you create your customizable sandwich; the amount of options is almost overwhelming, though sampling can help alleviate this "problem." We arrived at around noon on a Wednesday, and waited around fifteen minutes; the line moves fast, despite being out the door! You select from a variety of breads, meats, cheeses, and four additional toppings; they will then lightly toast your sandwich, and you pay at the front counter. I opted for their Ciabatta Toscana with Porchetta (roast pork), Stracciatella (a shredded creamy cheese similar to burrata), rucola (arugula), pepperoni sotto aceto (peppers in vinegar), pepperoni grigliati (grilled peppers), and melanzane (eggplant). My panini was a wonderful blend of textures and flavors; the bread had a crisp exterior and a pillowy-soft interior, the roast pork was succulent and well-seasoned with an herby crust, the straciatella added a creamy richness, and the various vegetables packed an acidic punch. The sandwich was also quite a generous portion, leaving me full for hours. In terms of price point, I believe I ended up paying around €12, which was quite affordable, especially given the central location, interactive experience, and generous portions: excellent value for a high-quality quick meal.

The classic, the one with the truffles, and the spicy one. We cut them all up, and presented them to our larger group as a porchetta tasting. The verdict? They are all winners. Every single sandwich was good. However, they didn't taste as different as one might think. The porchetta itself overrides the truffle/spice, and while that's not a bad thing, I think I'd like a little more of the sauce on each. You can get these sandwiches all over the city. All I know is that you can't go wrong with Pino's. I was actually full from five days of stuffing my face with pasta and steak and everything else Florence has to offer, but when my buddy handed me one of these things, you better believe I ate the whole thing. It's just a beautiful piece of schiacciata sliced in half and layered fresh, tasty treats that cannot be bad when combined. There's usually a nice spread (often pistachio or pesto or hot pepper sauce), some excellent cheese (scamorza, brie, mozzarella, etc.) and some cured meats. I'll say it again: you cannot go wrong.
