Tough finding a place open at 18:30 hours. Happened on this cozy unvarnished place. They start you with bread, olives and bacalao croquettes. We had grilled octopus and grilled sea bass (each @14.50€). Both were well prepared and delicious. Be forewarned: cash only!

We were able to snag a reservation without really knowing what to expect and we definitely were not anticipating this level of elegance! We ended up having a three hour dinner because everything felt so comfortable, peaceful, and lovely. I cannot recommend the sliders with quail eggs on top enough. My husband had the Iberian pork and really enjoyed it, and I absolutely loved my octopus. It was probably some of the best I have ever had. For dessert we had cheesecake and it was just as divine. If you want a dinner you won't forget anytime soon, definitely check out this place.

Modern and airy, tables are well spaced, and the decor is very muted and subtle, but rich. The service is amazing. We were a table of 8 and everyone who came to the table was so nice, helpful, friendly and accommodating. I'm sure waiters hate having to take pics of everyone, but ours were fantastic about it. But all that aside, the food is incredible. I had Iberico pork that was so succulent, seared nicely and roasted (I assume). We all shared some steak tartare, tuna tartare and an amazing cheeseboard. Drinks were also on point. I really love it here and have added it to my "must do" list in Porto.

Loved all the dishes we ordered and was extremely happy and satisfied with our first restaurant once landing in Porto! Cost: Reasonably priced dishes (maybe a tad on the expensive end) but the quality of the dishes were worth it! Environment: The restaurant is very cozy! Initially I thought it was super small but the rooms are just very long and they have a decent amount of seating available however it does fill up fast so after reading some reviews I did choose to make a reservation just incase! Service: Good service, had no issues and all the dishes came out in a timely manner. Uniqueness: Cozy restaurant with plenty of dishes to choose from!

Nice vibes...but beware…read more I have dined at Grigio during the multiple times I have visited Porto. I typically order the same thing and it usually ranges from decent to very good. However, I forgot that they are tricky. Upon being seated, they will bring a small basket of bread (three half slices of toast and a couple oversized thin crackers). They call this "Couvert". They will stand there with the bread and say something like "I have some bread for you" or "Would you like some bread?" They do not mention the charge of €3.50, but it is on the menu to order. But typically, you have yet to look at the menu to see it on there by the time it is presented to you. So who knows how many people have been fooled by this. Instead of letting people order a starter if they want, they are brought this bread by default. During my most recent visit, I noticed a couple who picked up a tip left on their table because they were unaware of the charge when they got their final bill. I will most likely never dine there again. But let this be a warning to those visiting Porto who decide to dine there. The pizza is good, but there is better in the area. My review is heavily weighted towards a 3 due to how they conduct their business.

Nothing was bad, and the prices were absolutely outstanding! The food wasn't typical portugese, which is a nice break from the constant portugese standard fare which is served throughout Porto and the country. It is instead this creative, french-ified, Portugese fare that will never bore you, but may not be absolutely stunning at every turn. However there will be moments when you are stunned. The service was unique and interesting - it was also personal, but you can't call it fancy or polished. I liked it better the way it was, but if you're going with your fancy grandma she might be disappointed. The wines are really good and well priced, though we might have had too much, which is always a problem I have in Portugal. They have great recommendations, or you can just buy bottles. My favorite dish was the over sized gnocchi - i've never seen anything like it in my life. The vegetable tartare with an egg yolk was also great. I liked it all, but some things didn't hit as hard as others. We might be back, we'll definitely recommend. Don't expect a michelin starred dining experience, but also don't expect michelin starred prices.

Inside Apego, however, lies beauty. Although small, the ambience is a casual elegance that reflects the fare that Chef Goy and her crew prepare. Barbara, the sommelier, knows her wines. We went there twice during our 6 day stay and will return if we go back to Porto in the future.

He recommended Impar Flores and it was just a good 7 minute casual walk from our hotel. All the tables were full when we got there around 730 pm and so had to wait a good 10 mins at the bar before we got seated. Service- for a Saturday night, the place was busy and the staff was cordial and friendly. Kudos to this one waiter/manager who got us seated who was extremely friendly (photo attached). 5 stars Food- we got the prawns tempura as an appetizer based on Yelp reviews. It's a little different than Japanese tempura in that the batter around the prawn wasn't crisped but a bit soft in texture. The green dipping sauce I can't quite describe it but worked well with the tempura. As a first bite, we enjoyed it. 4.5 stars My wife had the salada de salmao (salmon salad). It was in a bowl, nicely plated with generous amount of thin salmon along with avocado. I didn't try it but wife enjoyed her salad. As for me, I got the naco de vazia c vinho de Porto. (Sirloin steak with port wine). It included a small salad and fries that reminded me of In N Out fries. The steak tasted great and the sauce had a nice gravy taste but very subtle with the port wine. I enjoyed it. 5 stars. The check came in a book and you can pay cash or credit card which we chose card. Overall, it was a great first meal at Porto. Would come back in the future.
