    Horchata latte
    Ben H.

I'm a semi regular at Otro cafe (best Mexican brunch in PHX) but have yet to try their adjacent Hispanic inspired coffee shop Cafecito. I tried the Horchata latte. 5/5 flavour, not too overpowering and sweet like others I've tried.

Golden Milk transferred to my mug at home

There aren't a lot of places that serve a turmeric latte, but you can find one here called a golden milk. The ones that I have had in the past are made with coconut milk just like this one. And I'm not really sure of the difference between them other than the name. Some have more "grit" at the bottom and some are more "spicy." The Golden Milk version is excellent. I did take it home and pour it into a mug. It was quite yellow, but it tasted great down to every last drop! The place is always busy but the line moves quickly and they are always friendly.

I always have to go this place whenever I'm visiting the downtown area especially Buffalo exchange down the street

Thanks to fellow helper, Michelle D who told me right away that Cafecito is located inside Otro cafe. This coffee shop is so cute, colorful, and fun. The coffee is very good. It's not cheap ($8 20oz Horchata Iced Coffee) but if you're going to pay that at national franchise, why not support local and love it!? I'll for sure be back and try out Otro cafe.

Wow, absolute wow! One of my favorite spots now and glad I found it. From the moment you walk in, you feel at home. It is not an ordinary cafe. Everything is handmade, and I wish I could order every sweet treat they offer. Such a good spot to converse at the bar, or take some seats to study with friends. They have outlets too, so you can spend the day studying. The pistachio chocolate cookie is soooo good I want to order a dozen of them just for me. And the matcha? Perfect for my taste buds. Not too rich, and not overly sweet.

I got their café de horchata and concha and oreja 10/10! Very friendly staff as well!(:

I was confused walking in because I was looking for this coffee shop and it took me into a different restaurant. When you walk in go left. They do close at 9:00PM which makes them stand out. Tried the strawberry matcha, service was good. They have a lot of bake goods I didn't try as well as ice cream. The ambiance was a typical coffee shop vibe. I would go back.

On the other side of a restaurant, this coffee shop is super chill. Loved the seating and ambience. The barista provided great service. Our coffees were pretty good too and not too sweet. I was a fan of the chill oldies music. I'll have to come back to try the yummy gelato flavors at the ice cream bar. Since they're an add on to the restaurant, I hope they work on the A/C because it got pretty warm in there with no air circulation.

This is what I think of when I think of my morning coffee. The place is so welcoming and the decor reminds me of Mexico. The coffee was delicious! I also got a cookie which sadly I did not take a picture of but it was bomb, it was pistachio with chocolate. I wish I could stop at this place more often in my mornings. I will enjoy the times I can lol

French toast croissant- not an every day thing but should be 1000/10 FIRE!!!

HOLY SMOKES!!! Got the French toast croissant- which was a special for the day.. and Sooooooo good. Like make this a staple. The baker here is amazing!!! Coffee was delicious - service is great- ambiance is perfect.

Guava and cheese Danish - must try!

Over the weekend, I visited a few friends in Glendale. On my way back, I wanted to grab a quick cup of coffee and a pastry for my drive. This place is BUSY. They are located inside Otro Cafe, and man, weekend brunch does not play here. There is parking in front of the restaurant and in the back. The vibes were honestly cute and hip so I understand why it was so busy. I decided to get the most popular coffee they had (cafe de olla) and the guava and cheese Danish. Bro - this was such a good combo! This drive was a bit much for me (35 mins) but I would absolutely love to come back for their brunc of more pastries!

Cinnamon mocha latte and Cajeta latte

I love the Latino inspired menu at Cafécito. The names of the drinks and the vibe inside feels so warm and cozy and welcoming. There were a ton of items in the pastry case and they all looked amazing. There was one gluten-free option which I decided to try and it was a delicious chocolate cookie with masa. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include descriptions of the specialty drinks on the menu board or offer small menus because I definitely felt like I was holding up the line asking the very patient woman behind the counter to explain every single one to me.

Okay this place is so frickin cute! It's inside Otro Cafe, so know that's the sign you're looking for in the parking lot. To the right is the restaurant and to the left is the coffee shop but you can also order food there. There's pastries baked locally and they had a few gluten free cookies, yum!! The best part... you can make your own ice cream sandwich. I will most definitely be returning for this, how fun! The coffee shop part has three or four tables and seats at the bar top. It's busier in the morning but gets slower closer to lunch. I got the cinnamon mocha latte with oat milk and loved it. Got the medium since it was maybe 50 cents more. Very smooth. Great flavors. I will also be back for another coffee, I want to try all the flavors. Great vibes, it's bright and colorful and I had a nice few hours working out of the coffee shop.

There is a nice variety of sweet treats, and the service provided by the team inside the truck was stellar. One of our student organizations was hosting The Scookie Bar, and after walking around their event, you could score a ticket for a complimentary Scookie. As we pre-ordered so many as incentives for our students, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, something wasn't set up properly so we didn't have the cookies themselves, but we did have sundaes. We had six options to decide between. I went with The Standard consisting of vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate sauce, and on a normal day, there would have bene a chocolate chip cookie, too. The other five options included the Chocolate Lover, The Celebration, The Signature, Reese's Lover, and The VNA. While I enjoyed the sundae, I'm sure it would have been even better with the cookie included. The Scookie Bar is "where the scoop met the cookie" and serves freshly baked, warm deep-dish skillet cookies also known as scookies. They have a location at The Churchill in Downtown Phoenix, though I would assume I would more regularly see them when their food truck stops by ASU. Their Churchill location is closed on Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 5-10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 10 PM. If you want to order catering, it includes 2 hours of service and a 100 scookie minimum. They can provide a Build Your Own Menu where guests can choose the cookie, ice cream, and toppings, or they can choose from the Signature Scookie Menu which is what ASU did. They have been operating since 2016 in Phoenix. Now that I realize that I was missing the chocolate chip cookie, I need to try it again with that included! I definitely recommend this sweet treat to others.

We've worked our way through what feels like almost the entire dessert case over the years, and I can honestly say I've yet to find something I didn't love. The shell had that perfect crisp snap, while the filling was silky, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. It was everything I had been dreaming about and then some. Walking into The Sicilian Baker always feels like stepping into a little slice of Italy. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.

It's smooth, rich without being too heavy, and the flavor actually develops as you eat it instead of just being one-note sweet. You can tell they take this part seriously. Leave it outside the fridge for an hour and watch that cheesecake melt on your tongue crystals (if you have the patience for that) Their rotating monthly flavors keeps things interesting, and you're not just stuck with the same lineup every time. Out of what I tried, the banana pudding one was easily a standout--super nostalgic, creamy, and just done right without being overly sweet. The coconut one was also up there, more subtle but still really clean and flavorful. Love me some coconut! They also have a punch card system--buy 9 slices, get the 10th free--which is a nice touch. It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying. Just don't expect much from the service side, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.
