When it was Cafe Yen it was magical - fantastic coffee, outrageously good service, calm, soothing environment, great food. Now it's Cafe Margot and it's become noisy, messy and chaotic, good coffee, and variable staff. Gal at counter was indifferent, bordering on rude. Gal who delivered my food was fabulous. Retail section added has almost exclusively stuff for kids and is confusingly untidy. While Cafe Yen was an all-time favorite coffee spot, I won't be going back to Cafe Margot. read more

Upbeat and friendly staff and glad they explained the menu without issue. It really is peaceful and super quiet, definitely a relaxing cafe atmosphere. Honestly one of best chocolate chip cookies I had, crispy and very soft in the middle, with that salty sea salt flakes, definitely delicious and the lemon ricotta cookie, which was way more of a scone than a cookie, was great, lightly sweet and lemony. Lavender lemonade will never not be amazing and here they nail it. Got try there breakfast and lunch on another visit for sure. read more

Such a cute and cozy cafe - the service was fantastic and coffee had great flavor. There is a large indoor space and patio seating. We asked the barista to adjust our sweetness and it was perfect. The vanilla latte really stood out because of the fragrant vanilla bean taste! read more

Cute little cafe with lots of drink and food options. It's right in the middle of Goshen, and there's a small parking lot. I got a cardamom scone, which I would definitely recommend. The ham and cheese panini was only around $10 and was pretty filling - only feedback was that it took a while for my food to be ready. I visited with my wife and son after walking the Heritage Trail. We tried the iced coffee, cappuccino, and a donut with hot chocolate. All were enjoyable. We'll definitely be back for the coffee. read more

I've now been here twice, so I know my first ... weird experience wasn't a fluke and aligns with what other reviewers have reported. First off, the space, food and drinks are all great. The baked goods seem to sell out quickly but, that's understandable. I had the breakfast burrito and avocado toast and both were delicious. However, the service is some of the weirdest and slowest I've ever experienced. The vibe also does not match the decor at all. It seems like all of the employees are walking on eggshells and I got some real Soup Nazi vibes. The first time I was there, there was one friendly and helpful employee out of four but she was not there the second time and naturally wonders why; was it her day off or was she a square peg? I didn't experience any of the outright hostility that others have reported but I absolutely believe it. The first time I was there, I asked a question about what kind of doughnut was on display and, judging by the response, you'd have thought I'd asked the guy something totally ridiculous, like if his hair was on fire. Sorry, guy, but it's not obvious at a glance what flavor that grey/brown doughnut is. Some signage might help ... There's lots of potential here but they need to rethink their approach to customer service. read more

This has to be one of my favorite coffee shops. Even though it is a little but expensive but it is definitely worth the money. I got a small coffee that had hints of watermelon and fruity notes, and wow, it's actually really on point. My wife decided to get a peanut butter Smoothie, and her drink was very delicious. We both decided to get two cookies. I got the chocolate, and she got the chocolate chip with sea salt, and wow, the cookies were very delicious. The service was great and they were all very nice there. The inside of the place was very relaxing. I would highly recommend coming here and giving this place a try. read more

Charming cafe with good seating and menu. The service flow makes it difficult to give it more stars. Both times I have visited, the food has taken longer to arrive than our coffee drinks. They have always been unheated pastries so it has been frustrating. The second time I bought a plain croissant and, after a twenty minute wait, was given a chocolate croissant without discussion because they were sold out of the plain. I would have preferred other pastry options. For the time and money I lent I am not sure I will be back. read more

I am a devoted fan of this cafe. They make the best scone in the Hudson Valley and they know how to brew a reliably yummy cup of Java. Today I tried their new cardamom bun and it threw me to the moon with one bite. Yum!!! Run (don't walk) up there asap and get one before I eat them all. This is a testimate to the attentiveness of the baristas. Ive yet to taste a coffee drink that was tasting off because one or more ingrediants was carelessly added. Other places this is frequent, ex. too sweet, too much flavoring(s), etc. Also, as someone who frequently deviates from standard offerings, they handle drink or food customizations with aplomb. Its simple, they listen to the customer. Their food offerings are clean and simple. Avocado toast on their house made sourdough, drizzled with salt& olive oil is a go to. Their sandwitch and soup offerings have yet to dissapoint. Ok, time to let the cat out of the bag. Their house made baked goods are worth the trip by themselves. Pair it with a coffee and enjoy the combo outside (weather permitting). When people talk about enjoying the little things, this is one of them. For a specific baked good - the salted chocolate chip cookie. As an added bonus, the owner is usually there & always pleasant to talk to! read more

Cafe Yen is a neighborhood gem. Their coffee is very good and they also have nice options for lunch - salads, sandwiches and smoothies. It is a nice sized space and features a lovely sitting area outside. I find the atmosphere to be very tranquil and a nice cafe to relax or work! read more

Just moved out of state and wanted to show my appreciation for the coffee shop I loved the most. Their espresso was carefully pulled and never bitter, staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great to relax with a drink or grind and get some studying done. Hoping to be back whenever I visit! My favorite was the lavender latte and I regret not asking what brand of syrup they use before I left . Despite the idiots walking in with outside food or drink and giving a one star review, you really should go to this place if you're in the area. It has a very lovely aesthetic and the workers are very nice. There is always a lot of options unless you're coming at the end of the day and the pastries are very nice here. I went here with a group of people and we all enjoyed the drinks we were served and even though we were slightly hyped up the workers did not get mad or even bat an eye. The owner was very friendly and the workers even joked around with us while making the food. I recommend the pumpkin muffins if they're in season but the almond croissant is always a nice alternative. The worker that served us was named Logan if you wanted to know. The food is SOOOO good, from the amazing chicken cutlet sandwich with basil, to the salted chocolate chip cookie. They really pay attention to detail and make quality food from quality ingredients. The prices are high, but the food is worth it. They lose a star for hiding their menu though - it is not posted anywhere except under glass to the side of the register, so you often can't get to the menu until it's your turn to order, which wastes everyone's time. I wish I understood why they don't simply put it on the wall? It's not available online either, so that makes calling ahead difficult. They should hire someone to manage their website and just post a menu online and display it in the restaurant. The food though - amazing! read more

Simply the best coffee in Orange County. Top quality beans - including Brandywine Roasters - and great attention to detail. Space and design are beautiful yet unpretentious. Baristas are always more than friendly. My personal favorite is the manual pours featuring a rotating bean selection. Have been consistently great each time I've stopped in. Customer service was one of the worst I've experienced. We came in with outside drinks which I understand is not ideal but our plans changed unexpectedly and we absolutely planned on purchasing items--i understand that's common courtesy. 5 minutes in and someone comes up to our table and tells us to take our drinks and leave making a huge scene while also not even giving us the option to fix the issue. There were a lot of better ways he could have handled things, I felt extremely talked down to and it was unprofessional and downright rude. read more

Rudest customer service I have ever experienced. We came in with outside coffee and wanted to order food and the man who was the barista first told us we couldn't have outside drink (understandable but awkwardly handled) so I stepped outside while the rest of our party stayed to order food. After ordering and paying for the food he told someone in our party that he wouldn't be serving us and we should leave and caused a scene in front of a line of people waiting to order. I rarely write low reviews but I truly have never experienced such rudeness over what could have been a light easy conversation about outside food and drink policy. My only complaint and reason it doesn't get a full 5 stars is the operating hours...a coffee shop not open Monday or Tuesday? Beginning of the week is exactly when I want a good coffee! Came with my friend who frequents this cafe- i can definitely see why she does! The aesthetic was tastefully muted, with dark wood and small accents like potted succulents and the latest copy of the sunday new york times on the tables. There was a projector that displayed the menu behind the counter which was cool. I got the portobello sandwich ($9-10?) with portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, sage, oozy mozzarella all between two pieces of sesame focaccia. Freaking delicious! I also had the iced tea which was good. My friends iced oat milk macchiato was next level though- super creamy. Could see how this place could be great for studying and catching up with friends. We sat indoors but the outdoor seating looked cute, they had some tables that fit around four people each. The bathrooms were gender neutral and clean. There is also a parking lot so you dont have to stress about finding a spot on the street. Great space and great service! read more

Got here when it was scheduled to open on a Saturday. We were told after part of our order was ready that the rest was going to take 30 mins despite being the first customers. It then seemed like an inconvenience when we asked for a refund, with no apologies. On top of that, the bathroom floor was soapy and my son slipped and banged his lip on the floor.
