Upon visiting it a second time recently, I was reintroduced to this places homey environment and charming appearance. Had my baby shower here and it was lovely! It was in early October 2021 and all decked out with a Halloween and fall themed rooms. I loved all of the decorations. The whole tea shop is always so cute and such an experience. With our baby shower we got pumpkin spice scones which were delicious and then spinach quiche and an assortment of finger sandwiches as well as desserts at the end. Me, my mother, and my 2 daughters (ages 3 and 5) came here to celebrate my daughter's 5th birthday. The atmosphere was quiet and quaint in a beautiful Victorian house. They made it special for my girls and served their hot chocolate in a frog teapot. Unlike other tearooms, there was a good selection of kid's food items to choose from. My mom and I shared one of the samplers for 2 and enjoyed the tea sandwiches and were surprised that the desserts that came with it were full size. The scones were delicious too! We recently had the 2 for tea and was very disappointed with the tea. In a "tea room" I would expect interesting blends of custom teas, not a Harney and Sons single tea bag that I literally have in my tea caddy at home. To make matters worse they are very generous with the hot water and serve a large teapot which dilutes the flavor. A pot that size should have at least 2 tea bags!!! The sandwiches and desserts were fine, but we also opted for the extra fee to get clotted cream (always included with tea service in my experience) It tasted and had the consistency of butter. The ambiance is appropriate and cute for a traditional tea. The people working there are nice and accommodating. We had tea for five people and our bill was over $200 and automatically charged a tip. It was not busy, and we had a wonderful time. I did feel there could be improvement on the quality of the food. I'm really really trying not to write anything negative. But it's hard to write anything positive. I think a few details are being missed. It's cute and everything, and I went with my wife intentionally. Being avid tea drinkers, we thought it would be super cute, it was OK at best. The deserts beat out any food there by far. I'm all for international flavors and trying something new, but Blinn and tasteless is not really appealing. And yet they wanted to be voted the best teahouse in the county. You really need to step it up quite a bit. Perhaps clean off some of the shelves, get rid of some of the cobwebs and dust and perhaps get a paint brush in there. the service was slacking, it seem like there was only one person there doing everything. Charlotte's Tea Room is located inside a gorgeous Victorian house. Every room of this lovely house is decorated slightly differently. We sat in what I like to call the safari room which is adorned with vintage prints of animals and very pretty botanical wallpaper. We had a party of 8 so we were quite a large group. From beginning to end our experience was fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable of menu items and explained the tea menu very well. The tea for two was quite the event. Home made scones with imported clotted cream was followed by a three tiered sandwich assortment which was very tasty, then dessert. The quiche was fluffy and delicious, as was the tossed salad. The seasonal squash soup, chicken pot pie and vegetable paninis were lovely. We all enjoyed the whimsical touches. Each tea pot was of a different shape and size and the food was served on black toile plates. The house has a French, Victorian feel which made me feel a bit like Alice in Wonderland. Went here a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised . The decor in each room were different and absolutely gorgeous. The food was amazing. The hostess and waitress extremely pleasant. The ride to get there was long but well worth the trip. We had the potato soup, with zucchini bread, assorted tea sandwiches, vanilla scones and the desserts all sounded so good. Unfortunately we had a bad experience here. From the second we walked in the door we were treated like children, our party was all meeting up separately so when we walked in the door from the 2 separate entrances it took us 30 seconds to hug and say hello, we were immediately scolded and told to hurry up and walk in and close the door. It was 62 degrees out, no heat or a/c was being lost in that short moment. There were several moments where we felt as though our waitress and possibly the proprietor, was pretty rude and bossy however the moment the stuck out the most was when we were ordering our teas we were begrudgingly asked if we would like lemon, milk or honey for the table, to which we said yes to all three please, as we had 3 different large pot teas for a party of 5 for the table, everyone might like a different combination, she shot us a look and said which ones? And I said all three please again and she scoffed and said are you really going to use all three because I do not want to bring them out for you just to waste them........ We were shocked that someone in a restaurant industry/ customer service driven establishment would speak to customers that way and have the sheer audacity to imply that something that typically COMES with tea would be considered wasted on us. Plain and simple is was rude. That to me summarizes the entire tone for the rest of our time there. We were treated an inconvenience rather than welcomed customers. At the end when we were still finishing our teas and conversation we were abruptly interrupted for the 3 or fourth time (apparently "excuse me" is a lost phrase or just a courtesy we were deemed unworthy of) and the bill was put on the table, no problem we pay and continue on. Apparently once you pay your forfeiting the last of your food and tea because we were basically told thanks now leave. It was truly unfortunate that this was the experience because we were visiting friends that we had not seen for years after they suffered a loss. This was meant to be a nice calm little get together in a cute place to exchange condolences and cheerful stories in our lives, and it was just marred by someone's bad attitude the ENTIRE time. I didn't write this review to be spiteful, I just hope that by pointing out where service went wrong, so this can be adjusted and not be anyone else's experience. Ps servers attitude aside, the sandwich platter was cute and tasty, but light on the lighter side, so don't order on an empty stomach. We've been to Charlotte's Tea Room more times than I could try to count and have always had the most amazing experiences. This is such a unique place to spend time with family and friends over delicious food and a large variety of teas. They also just have the kindest staff! In particular, due to the virus, they offered a special Mother's Day brunch today that we had delivered to our mother. It was impeccably done from top to bottom! The amount of thought and care that went into the creation of these baskets (the packaging, the tea cups, the flowers, the candle) made it extra special. I was in town this weekend for the Apple Fest with a couple of friends and decided to try this place... The interior is quaint, the dining room resembles a dining room in your grandma's house with equally old furniture and cute teacups with saucers decorating each table. Unfortunately, the service didn't resemble the hospitality one would expect to receive at grandma's house. We were asked if we had reservations, which seemed rather odd as the place didn't seem crowded at all. After perusing the menu we attempted to order the chicken pot pie for lunch and were told that it was only a winter item. Now why would you put it on your menu in October then? Out next attempt to order quiche also ended in failure: approximately 20 minutes after accepting our order, the waiter returned to announce that they had run out of quiche. We were at last left with the only sensible option to order assorted tea sandwiches in hopes that the preparation would be speedy as they had already been made. We also ordered a pot of tea ( quite a natural choice at a tea room). The tea took 30 mins to make an appearance and it was made with tea bags, completely unacceptable for a tea room. The presumably pre-made tea sandwiches took another 30 minutes to appear and no apologies were offered. I suggest the staff of Charlotte's Tea Room takes a short road trip down to NYC to take some clues from other tea rooms there. As for me, this is a definite "skip" for the next time I am in Warwick. read more

This is the second time my daughter and I have been to Charlotte's Tea Room. My niece joined us as well. We ordered the tower of tea sandwiches and 2 pots of tea. The sandwiches were all really tasty and both teas were great. Our server, Guy, couldn't have been nicer. He was very knowledgeable about all of the menu items and was very pleasant. We saved some room for dessert and even though our first choices were not available, we were all happy with the peach crumble and the chocolate bundt cake. Took my mom out for her birthday to the tea room and we absolutely loved it! It has a great atmosphere, was nice and quiet and our server was lovely. We got the broccoli quiche and chicken pot pie which were both delicious, although the quiche slice was a little too small to share. A small pot of tea was the perfect amount for two people and our server refilled it for us to keep it hot which was great. I have been here a few times for differnt occasions, Bridal shower, Lunch, and a day with my niece. I have to say athough I love the concept an how different and cute it is, it's very overpriced. I also find that its marketed as a place to bring children however I feel like the staff is annoyed when you bring kids. I took my niece there who is 4 and was very well behaved we spent about $50 just the two of us and I felt that they were so rude to us... If I wasn't with my niece I would have said something to the waitress about her rudeness.
