Lobster Benedict
Jacqueline T.

My husband and I shared: - Lobster Benedict - Maine Blueberry Pancake - Home Fries - Atlantic Brewing Blueberry Soda The food was absolutely delicious. I expected to like the Benedict more and it was so good, but the blueberry pancake blew me away. I don't love pancakes, but this one was thin, crispy, and had so much flavor. It was the best pancake I've ever had. The portion sizes are on the smaller side and prices are fairly high, but that's typical of lobster in Maine. We arrived a bit before 11 and didn't have to wait too long for a table.

Worth the wait for a tasty warm breakfast! My only regret is I wish we came here sooner in our trip because we would have definitely returned. There is both indoor and outdoor seating - outdoor was lovely for a summer morning in Bar Harbor. I had the blueberry pancake with a side of eggs. The pancake was thin but huge and had a nice crispy caramelized texture to it. The fresh wild blueberries were amazing in the pancake - so sweet and the best blueberries I've ever had (we also ordered a cup of them as a side). My husband had the Harney which was corned beef hash with poached eggs, and sourdough toast - the hash was more potato than meat but the poached eggs added more protein. Highly recommend coming here for a lovely breakfast or brunch.

First time visiting Bar Harbor and this breakfast spot was recommended over and over to us and I certainly see why! It is such a charming spot with delicious food, friendly service and is dog friendly. Definitely arrive early or at least make note that you'll have to wait because it is extremely popular. My mom and I didn't mind the wait so much since the weather was perfect, but we got there around 8:30 am and hung out for a good 20 mins or so before we were sat. The table next to us had asked if we were from out of town and recommend their blueberry pancakes. We were lucky that the restaurant received fresh blueberries just that morning (otherwise they are frozen). Wow.... that recommendation lived up to the hype! It is not your typical fluffy pancake; it is still fluffy, but the crispy edges really elevate the texture and flavor of the pancake. Of course the blueberries were a lovely addition. It'll be hard to find a pancake that good ever again. I asked the server what their most ordered savory items are and he recommended the burrito. Again, great recommendation! I love a good, hearty burrito and every bite was satisfying and delicious. Definitely recommend going here if you can! You won't be disappointed.

Great breakfast spot in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. We got here around 8am and had a very short wait - by 8:30-Pam the lines grew. So the tip is get here early! Aside from the regular breakfast dishes they have daily specials. We tried the strawberry shortcake (made with biscuits) which was very good. The blueberry pancakes are excellent - someone said best ever and I tend to agree. We ordered a second round of pancakes that were so good!!!

Vegan tofu scramble

We had breakfast here three days in a row during our stay in Acadia, and every single meal was fantastic. The staff deserves a special shout-out, Tyler and Brenna were incredible hosts who took such great care of us, making us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in. My husband loved his vegan tofu scramble so much that he ordered it all three days, flavorful, hearty, and perfectly cooked with fresh veggies and crispy home fries on the side. I decided to try something different each day: the ricotta toast on Day 1, the avocado toast on Day 2, and a bagel with herbed cream cheese on Day 3. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The coffee was fresh and strong, just the way I like it, and the quirky, colorful interiors added so much character to the place. From the food to the friendly service and the fun atmosphere, Café This Way truly captures the cozy, creative vibe of Bar Harbor. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Acadia, you'll leave happy, full, and already planning your next breakfast here!

Heard so much about this place and it lives up to its reputation. Host was fantastic....welcome and efficient. The food was FANTASTIC. I got the lox bagel...a home favorite growing up in NY...and it was a good size with creamy dill cream cheese and large pieces of beautifully smoked salmon. The carafe of traditional mimosa was the perfect touch. 10/10 definitely recommend.

BLT with 2 eggs

The service was spectacular and this is a really cute little spot for breakfast or lunch. The only thing standing between them and a five star review is the blandness of the home fries. They looked so promising when they came out and then they lacked flavor. The BLT with 2 eggs was great. The pancake was huge and looked delicious.

So good we came twice for breakfast! We were here fairly early (7:30 both days) and got seats inside with no wait. Service was friendly, and it was very relaxed and cozy inside. Boyfriend got Eggs Benedict and I got a blueberry pancake. Those little Maine blueberries are so tasty. Pancake was the best I've ever had. Thin and a slightly crispy edge. The food was delicious both days, and the coffee was great and our cups were always kept full.

So good. Definitely recommend! Pancakes were delicious and breakfast platter was tasty.

Apple Cheddar Pancakes with Honey Butter

This has been the best breakfast spot on the trip to Acadia. I cannot shut up about the pancakes. They are probably the best pancakes I've had in my life. The other items on the menu are delicious, but the pancakes take it home. If you're in a group, get a table pancake to share. Highly recommend. The service and employees are friendly, patient, and sweet. We "joked" about asking for the pancake recipe way too many times. And they played along. Brynna, please send the recipe.

Bloody Mary.

Excellent scramble with goat cheese fresh basil and tomatoes. My husband enjoyed oatmeal and pancakes with blueberries and real Maple syrup. Bloody Mary was perfect! Service was excellent.

Literally stunning!! We were on our way out of Bar Harbor and needed breakfast so we stopped here. We only waited a couple minutes before getting seated at a table outside. The staff was so nice and checked on us on constantly and sitting outside was just gorgeous and so nice. We ordered some coffee which the staff kept full. For breakfast I got the country breakfast with scrambled eggs and a blueberry pancake. The food was delicious but the pancake was the star with the delicious and sweet blueberries Absolutely 10/10 and a must try if you are looking for some brunch!!

Ask the Community - Cafe This Way

I don't see it on the menu anymore- does this place still have lobster eggs Benedict?

Yes. They have a different menu, like a seasonal one, physically displayed inside the cafe.

Are the home fries fried?

I believe so--I've posted a picture of them with the blueberry pancakes for you to see.

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26

We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. Due to a young toddler and unexpected moods we ordered take out every night to avoid annoying other diners. We ordered from the Bistro three out of the four nights we stayed there. The salmon and mussels were clean and fresh in taste but filled with so much flavor. I did not bloat from salt. As for the tenderloin medallions, it was cooked to the perfect temperature we requested and was tender to bite into. My only issue was the service. The first night, when I went to pick up the food, the service was great. The individual that gave me my check and food was so delightful. But the second and third night, another individual, was rude in her responses. I understand it can be busy but there wasn't a need to respond with a tone or to look at me up and down like I have four heads. The view inside the Bistro itself was beautiful and serene. It isn't a large place but definitely date night worthy. Would definitely still recommend going but make reservations when busy.

The view? Lovely. The vibe? A little... off. The place has that "it could be nice if someone cared just a bit more" feel -- not bad, just lacking that spark (or maybe a good interior refresh). My husband, on his noble quest to sample every lobster bisque in Maine, declared this one the worst of the trip -- and trust me, the man takes bisque seriously. My beet salad with picked lobster was actually quite good, fresh and nicely balanced, which saved the meal from total disappointment. Service matched the décor -- polite enough but not exactly engaged. It had that subtle "we're doing you a favor" energy, which really pairs best with... no one's martini. Speaking of which, I had to remind our server to actually add the olives to mine. Small details, big impact, friends. In conclusion: go for the view, not the vibe. There's potential here, but it needs a little love -- and a lot more attention to the bisque.

We requested to sit by the window to have my birthday lunch and loved watching the sun set over the water. This is in a prime spot right by the wharf and has a gorgeous view of the water by the windows, but has a great bar and more seating in the back. Menu is huge with sandwiches, fish, pizzas, salads, etc. We went with the warmed brown butter lobster roll and a margarita pizza add sausage. My husband is a pizza guy - has it like 5x a week - so he's picky. He loved this pizza and said it was really top tier. I also thought it was very good - crust and toppings all great and cooked well. Sometimes margarita pizzas are runny due to less cheese/sauce ratio but this one was good and crust was yummy. The lobster roll was a different way to have it - I usually have it in the mayonnaise sauce chilled, this one was warmed up with brown butter on a delicious bun. Very good. They have 3 different lobster rolls on the menu to satisfy whatever the craving/need. For desset - we chose the chocolate death parfait. It was SO good. Not something I would usually get bc it was so heavy - but we were in town for my birthday so, treat yo self! Layers of chocolate cake, dense white marscapone cream and chocolate mousse with caramel and toffee chunks. Yeah, sign me up for that. Don't forget to visit their gift shop directly underneath and off to the side - it's huge! It actually has far more than the standard cup and t-shirt or hat.
