They have indoor seating and a little patio. We chose to sit inside since it was a bit chilly and breezy. I had the Country Breakfast with eggs, pancakes, sausage, homefries and sourdough toast. My husband had The Usual which is the same as the country breakfast sans the pancakes. My husband and I shared my pancakes which were thin, almost crepe like, and super tender. The sausage was good and the homefries were nice and crispy. Something I really liked about Café This Way is the warm and charming interior. It definitely had a bit of an art-sy coffee shop vibe. Also, I like the flowerbeds out front too. I can tell the owner puts a good bit of care into their flowerbeds. Service was attentive and friendly. We ate at Cafe This Way four days in a row while staying in Bar Harbor. We loved everything we tried. The blueberry pancakes were the best I've had (loaded with blueberries and crispy on the edges). My daughter said the eggs, bacon, sausage and toast were excellent. However, after tasting my blueberry pancake, she ordered a pancake to go along with her eggs. The staff was courteous and efficient and even though we had a wait every day, the turnover was quick. I would give 10 stars if possible. read more

We came here on a Wednesday morning around 9:30AM and were able to be seated right away outside. Our server was excellent and took care to accommodate the allergies in our party and make recommendations. The food came out FAST and was very tasty. I ordered a choose your own scramble, my partner had a breakfast burrito, and the other members of our party had scrambles and eggs benedict. I'd definitely come back if I were in the area again. A great breakfast spot in Bar Harbor, Maine. Our party of four came here for breakfast after a foggy early morning at the summit of Cadillac Mountain. After a short wait we were ushered in past a very friendly host. The ambience was warm and inviting. We sat in a corner with books in the wall - which we immediately investigated. While the restaurant was full we sat and easily had conversations. We ordered blueberry pancakes, an egg scramble - "the Howdy Doody" - eggs, French toast, and home fries. The Howdy Doody was delicious, flavorful and buttery. The French Toast and pancakes were perfectly crispy and incredibly buttery. You will always have plenty of butter here! The home fries were light and had a great potato taste that was as not at all oily. The scrambled eggs were light and airy not overly mixed. The coffee was good. Restrooms were clean and well appointed. The space was artful and well organized. Service was terrific and friendly. We would absolutely eat here again. read more

The mushroom toast is awesome but the mimosa is extremely weak, it felt like just water and syrup. We brought it to the attention of one of the servers and she corrected the situation with any issues. Still one of our favorite spots. Should give it try if you are in town. read more

Stoped by for a bite after a sunrise hike to summit Cadillac Mountain. The cafe is tucked away right off the village green in bar harbor, and offers a wonderful menu of sweet and savory treats. Everyone from host to our server was cheery and helpful, and made us feel welcome in the area. Our waitress even gave us some great recommendations for places to swim in the area. For the food: our party tried two of the specials-- the ploughman's plate and the peach pancakes, as well as an egg scramble. The plate was described as a savory Maine breakfast charcuterie board, and was curated perfectly for the morning: fresh Maine blueberries, sharp cheddar cheese, hard boiled eggs and sausages. The pancakes were divine-- almost as thin as crepes but as fluffy and airy and flavored as pancakes. The egg scramble was hearty and warm and filling, and served with perfectly fresh vegetables folded inside. Stopped in here early after watching the sunrise at Acadia. Service was awesome and food came out quick; they sat us at a heated bench because they could tell we were chilly. Everything was delicious and my girlfriend said it was the best pancake she's ever eaten (she eats a lot of pancakes). Cafe This Way is a cafe down one of the alleys in Bar Harbor. It has ample indoor and outdoor seating split across two sides of the little alleyway. It's a pretty popular place, so they seem to usually have a waiting list that you can put your name on. My girlfriend and I showed up around noonish on a Sunday in late September. We didn't have to wait too long for an indoor table and there were a lot of other free tables inside. Outside was a different story though. Service was fast and everyone was friendly. Food came out super fast and drinks as well. Food: - The Harney - corned beef hash, two poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, sourdough toast. I'm a big sucker for corned beef hash and I thought the combo with Hollandaise eggs was interesting. Pretty fulfilling dish in my opinion since I love runny eggs as well. - Blueberry Pancakes with syrup - Pancakes were thin and more crispy than fluffy. A little bit different than your normal flapjack. I kind of like this style more than the big fluffy ones. Blueberries weren't too sweet and just added a touch of syrup to each bite. Subbed a side of homefries and they were a little overdone and needed salt. Overall, really solid place that is efficient, friendly, and provides high quality food. So happy that we decided to wait for a table for breakfast at this location. We're told the wait was going to be about 30-45 minutes and were seated within the time we expected. The wait wasn't bad as the area is so pleasant waiting under a majestic tree with yellow failings. Currently there is no parking lot, so you'll have to park on a nearby street and follow signs to the restaurant which is located behind the Maine Made Gifts store. We arrived around 9:25 am on Saturday, literally right before a big brunch rush. They had to clear a table, and we were seated within a few minutes. Our waiter immediately came around with a pitcher of coffee, but you could order a coffee off their menu instead. Service was super fast and we got our food like 5 minutes after ordering. My dad built his own scramble and my mom got the CTW Breakfast Sandwich. My sister and I shared the Country Breakfast and were able to get one chocolate chip pancake and one blueberry pancake. They pancakes are nice and thin, not dry and thick like most pancakes. Overall, this is a solid breakfast spot with friendly staff, but there's nothing too special on the breakfast menu, but would be interested to try the dinner menu if we had more time in Bar Harbor! read more

I heard there's usually a wait but we came in early, just after 7 on a weekday, and sat right down. By the time we were halfway done though, there was a wait. Bacon and eggs were on point, as was the service. The space was cute and we easily found parking on the square. Unfortunately the food didn't really deliver otherwise. Toast were under-toasted. Vegan scramble was way too salty and when brought up to the staff, they recognized that immediately so it must be a normal thing, but they were able to make me another without tamari (I was worried "less tamari" would be too subjective). Home fries seemed very much like frozen ones form the grocery store - family was expecting more. Service was great though and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and cozy space. We came right at opening and we didn't need to wait very long at all. We actually drove past this place later on that day and they were packed so def go early! We got to pick either outside or under the tent. FOOD ORDERED The Harney (Corned Beef Hash w/ poached eggs, sourdough bread and covered with hollandaise sauce) - pretty good but the corned beef hash was a bit dry and I don't think it had the hollandaise sauce on it or at least it was a scant amount to notice. Blueberry pancakes - EXCELLENT. Honestly one of the best pancakes that I've tried. For me, I like thin pancakes with a bit of crunch. This was exactly it. With the butter, blueberries on top AND the maple syrup, excellent. Grilled Muffins - As per other reviewers, we got the grilled muffin and wowza had no idea grilling a muffin could make it so good! Went here for breakfast on our last day of our long weekend in Bar Harbor. If we had gone here the first morning we would have never tried another place! The place is fantastic, and judging by the lines, it is very popular. Despite the crowd, I was very impressed with how quickly they moved through the waitlist. The host was super friendly and efficient. The menu has a bunch of items my wife and I wanted to try but we ended up falling for the specials which were excellent. I had the duck hash which was decadent with lots tender duck (possibly confit?) served with perfectly cooked eggs and hollandaise sauce. My wife had the challah French toast which she enjoyed and well cooked bacon. We arrived around 9am on Friday morning and place was pretty busy and we were the 5th party in line, but seated probably within 10 minutes (line moves real quick). They run a tight ship around there and tables are cleared pretty fast. Coffee was actually pretty good for being a diner type establishment. We had the burrito and corned beef hash. My corned beef hash was pretty good, eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was nice, I just wish that the hash was browned more/crispy. Very good breakfast place! We ordered the Harney, Kit's burrito, and a seasonal salad to share. The portions were good sized and both dishes were wonderful. The seasonal salad was really fresh. Coffee was really good too. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and the service was very friendly. We went there at 11am and waited less than 5 minutes for a table. The outside seating area is reserved for customers with dogs, which is really nice! Next time we will bring our pups with us so they can hang out too. We will make sure to swing by here again for breakfast. read more
