Man, I wish there was a Cafe Pierrot in my neck of the woods. I had some time to kill before a hair appointment, and came in for a coffee. Inside, I was immediately greeted with cases on cases of homemade truffles, macaroons and cakes, beautiful fall decorations and the delicious scent of baked goodies. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and a box of pumpkin macaroons. Sounds pretty basic but don't care, pumpkin is my jam. The latte was creamy and frothy and had a strong hint of cinnamon and nutmeg flavors. I've never had a pumpkin macaroon before, and I have a feeling that these are going to become a new favorite fall treat. The cream filling was really thick and rich and I could definitely tell that it was homemade. In addition to the coffee/bakery area up front, there is also a large sit down cafe area in the back with breakfast and lunch options like quiches, salads and sandwiches. Judging by the crowd of people on a Friday at 11, I'm sure that the savory options are just as yum as the sweet. I wish that I was close enough to come back for lunch! read more

Here's the deal: A staple of care excellence in the Sparta area. Cafe offers cozy seating both inside & out! It's a can't miss place for breakfast/ lunch /dinner. I love their online menu which consistently provides menu specials for dinning in order take out. If you have a sweet tooth, don't forget awesome homemade desserts read more

Love everything they serve - I've been a regular for 20 plus years - highly recommend further any meal.

We've dined and purchased food and bakery items from the Sparta location many times over the years. Our favorite was the fare on the Oktoberfest menu. Fast forward to 2020. What happened! We ordered pork shank and sauerbraten and it tasted like it was cooked, frozen and cooked again. Granted, it was takeout but the quality and the fact that it was over cooked and salty really disappointed. On the positive, the lentil and butternut squash soup were delicious. read more

Staff is very rude, the food is great, but I just can't get over how unhelpful and rude. The staff is. I was basically yelled at when I asked if they had Boston cream. I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

Fresh, well-balanced ingredients that make me think of mom's cooking.I got the California chicken wrap. It came with three sides: potato salad, salad, and Mediterranean pasta salad. All aspects of the dish work good, fresh and it was enough food definitely fill me up. The chicken in the chicken wrap came out warm which was great with the bacon and avocado and the contrast of the cooler veggies. While I was waiting for my rap I snooped around and took some photos of the very colorful baked delicacies that are on display including cupcakes and cakes. They also offer an assortment of fresh baked bread's at prices that definitely beat Whole Foods any day! read more

Ordered a birthday cake . Cake was ascetically pretty but so unimpressed from a taste perspective. So mediocre wish I had went to Costco.

Not impressed by their food, service was poor. For 2 adults and 1 two year old (no kids menu) we spent over $60. Could have went to a dinner and had better food and service for less money. On the plus side very cute decor read more

Bought a 45$ carrot cake today, flavors were underwhelming, cake dry, and cream cheese frosting bland. Overpriced for taste. Cake was decorated nicely however I care more about the taste than the looks. Would not repurchase carrot cake. read more

Hidden gem that I make an absolute priority to visit specially for the spiced chai tea lattes when visiting from all the way from Charleston SC! I try something new off their menu each visit back home and never disappointed. I went with the veggie panini this time which I normally would overlook on a menu and it was absolutely delicious!! If you are passing threw or visiting you have to visit! read more

My good friend took me here today to eat with my 2 year old. He started to cry as we were waiting to be seated. His lollipop fell on the floor and the owner of the restaurant rinsed it off and gave it back to him. She then asked us to follow her back and take a seat. We sat down and she gave us the menu, then immediately said "Is he going to stop crying anytime soon because I have multiple customers already complaining." I did not even have time to comfort him yet. Sorry I can't control when my toddler has a tantrum. Also she was with us the entire time and neither I nor my friend saw anyone approach her to complain about my toddler, and she claimed "multiple" customers had already complained to her. Right after she said that a woman with red hair approached us and immediately asked if we were ready to order yet. We did not even look at the menu and we had just gotten to the table. Felt very very rushed. I took my son outside to get his bottle and he cried a little more when we came back inside, but settled down fine after. We were tempted to leave, but my son was hungry so we decided to stay and I am glad we did because if we left they would have gotten exactly what they wanted. Asked the waitress who the lady with blonde hair was and she confirmed that was the owner. I highly suggest not eating here, the owner was very rude and unprofessional. She could have easily said "can you please take him outside for a moment to calm down." They also do not have a kids menu. Please take your business elsewhere. read more

I have been a customer for years. The past 5 or 6 years Rick's crew make these golf ball looking cookies in packs of 3 for me to put in goody bags at a golf outing I run. Every year people ask, where did you get those? They eat hem before they get home! For the past 20 years I go through about 12-14 lbs of his cookies every Christmas season at my jewelry store. This year I didn't want to disappoint the kids. So the great crew he has put 2 cookies in a sealed bag. We started with 100 bags. Genius! They always find a way to accommodate you there. I would recommend Cafe Pierot to anyone. Bob Diffin read more

Three of us went for lunch today, two of us ordered the seafood bisque, not one drop of seafood was in either cup? There was also some gummy noodles that did not belong in a bisque. The lunch came and both of my friends had sandwiches which were good, I ordered the quiche Lorraine which had uncooked bacon in it. I pulled out all of the flabby pieces and the cheese was fine. We ordered 2 cupcakes for dessert and they were average, the apple tart was served cold and also not great. The ambiance needs some updating as the wallpaper is peeling and unattractive. This is the second time I have dined here and sorry to say it will be the last. read more

I cannot rave enough about the phenomenal job Cafe Pierrot did creating DELICIOUS custom doughnuts for our wedding on 9/27/19! Fresh, flavorful, beautifully executed, and everything a bakery doughnut should be. Kate was easy to reach via email and a total pleasure to work with from start to finish. My expectations were exceeded in every way. Cafe Pierrot was already doing our wedding cake when I inquired about adding 120 specialty doughnuts to the order for a surprise doughnut wall dessert feature for my husband. I built the wall (with a TON of help from my woodworking father-in-law), sent dimensions of the pegs, and they delivered the most mouth-watering doughnuts in every flavor I requested: Oreo, Reese's, apple cider, s'mores, and of course vanilla and chocolate! They even used our wedding colors for the drizzle on some of the doughnuts. Unbelievably, this was the first doughnut wall they've ever done and they NAILED IT! I'm positive it will not be their last. ;) We can't wait to make the two hour drive to Sparta for our 1 year anniversary to pick up another order. P. S. -- The wedding cake was ALSO very good! We were just particularly obsessed with the doughnuts and level of customer service. read more

The cupcakes here are fantastic! The carrot cake is simple amazing. It's a really cute place and highly recommend!

Have been here a few times for lunch. They have an old style charm. It's a little crammed however everything I've ordered always has been fresh and perfect. Also they have unique food combinations that you wouldn't expect. And they are all good. They also have a pastry section and I believe they cook everything there so they have an awesome bakery assortment. I think what they ask for dishes is exactly what they deserve. The food is unique and always has been wonderful every time I go. Lastly servers are always on point for the most part. I only had a few minor hiccups but they were corrected or not a big deal. But they were so minor It didn't bother me. I definitely will be a regular. read more

My dentist and friend had a cancellation so a long lunch was possible. He recommended we go here and I have to say, he knows both dental hygiene and good food. The servers were friendly, professional and efficient - a pleasant surprise considering the casual nature of the place (no offense)! The front room was bathed in sunlight - warm and inviting, despite last weeks's near single digit temps. We all had soup, I had the seafood bisque (lots of chunks of flavorful fish) and the rest of our party, the tomato Parmesan. I taste tested my wife's soup and it had lots of flavor. In fact, I'll probably have that next time. I ordered chicken strips and fries - all cooked well and served hot. My wife had the turkey spinach melt - it had three small salad sides, potato, green and macaroni. All fresh and tasty. Three others in the group had sandwiches and made yummy noises so I'm sure they enjoyed their meals. On the way out, we were tempted by the cases of fresh baked goods. I ordered $6 worth of chocolate dipped cookies and ate most of them before we got home. Nice little eatery with fine food, great bakery offerings, free parking and professional service. Recommended. read more

Ordered a quarter sheet cake for Confirmation - red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Was heaven to my mouth. Firstly, it was triple layers of red velvet cake amongst superbly dense layers of cream cheese frosting. Oh...my...sweet heavenly tooth. The monstrous cake weighed in at 13.7 pounds! It was tall and filling. Excellent work CP. Note: $60 for the quarter sheet well worth it. read more

Such nice people and it's gluten free and it's the best barkey i saw

Great venue for hand crafted food. Our server was little rushed during Saturday breakfast, in spite of only a few tables occupied and a wealth of other servers. Sparta might not be the best place to draw attractive minimum wage help. They give it a good try. I checked to see if the yolks on the eggs I ordered were broken, they would be, but they were not. Kind of easy to get right if you want a good tip. If you want to stand in front of the display cases and admire the bakers' craft, you're clearly in the way of the servers racing from the kitchen across the house to the living room/ dining room. All in all, take out would be amazing, if you're into cold food in aluminum containers.Eating in is a little noisy and service doesn't match the quality of the food. read more

I don't know if the people giving them such great reviews just never had any better or what but this place is over hyped. The cake decoration on my birthday cake looked no better than what you would learn in the first stages of a Wilton cake decorating class. As others have pointed out, the buttercream icing is atrocious, and yes Cafe Pierrot you should take this in to consideration and change it. It's just plain gross. I was also blown away that they write on a fondant (very, very hard) disc in an edible marker instead of actually writing on the cake. I can't even with this....if you are a premier bakery your decorator should KNOW how to write on a cake! It doesn't look nice, I've seen it on my own cake and I've seen it on cakes people posted on social media and it looks very poor. Please Cafe Pierrot change these few things and improve your business. I'm also not happy about the few stale cupcakes I got there a few months ago. Watch your stock, pull things when they are bad. read more

Cookies and chocolate lava cake are good but won't change your life. Affordable and good service but outdoor seating is off limits if you buy food at the counter. Maybe I'm expecting confetti and a ticker tape parade with my cookie, but every little bit was uninspired. They didn't sing me a song. They didn't share the love. It felt a bit sterile. Sorry not sorry. It was not traumatic. 3 stars. read more
